Sign of the Beefcarver

Such a pleasant experience! It’s been around 25 years since I’ve been to one of these restaurants and it still has the same feel I remember as a child. Roast beef is tender and delicious! Steamed vegetables were cooked to perfection. Oreo cheese cake was superb. Everyone working was extremely friendly. I don’t come out to royal oak often but I will be back next time I’m town. Do yourself a favor and visit Sign of the Beefcarver. ESPECIALLY if you want a quick, fresh and healthy lunch. No fried or fatty foods here!

Just as we remembered. This location has been around forever. We, for just a moment, felt like kids again. Many lental Fridays or Sunday dinners were a huge part of our childhood. Everything was just as we remembered. Except for the food line, it seemed shorter. It's probably because we were shorter as kids! Lol🤣
The food was excellent and well worth the price. The wait staff and service they provided were beyond excellent. We will definitely return.

Timeless place. The food is always good, the service lightning fast. And the prices were reasonable. There's very few places left that are like Sign of the Beefcarver. Nostalgic, good food, and good atmosphere.

First time here. Didn't know what to expect but the staff was incredibly nice, helpful and happy.

It was a bit of stepping back in time.

From beginning to end, this place was fantastic. The carver of my roast beef was fantastic. He carved me perfect 🥰 roast beef with no fat and plenty of meat. Then mushroom juice from the meatloaf. Plus then, from the roast beef as well. The rest of all the food was fantastic as always. The waitresses were amazing, kind, and thoughtful the reasons you go to the Beef Carver for. Then we finished our meal with their amazing Lemon Meringue Pie. Which is made fresh onsite. So if you're in Royal Oak and looking for a yummy roast beef meal, they do offer other foods like meat loaf and fish. Then check out the Sign of The Beef Carver.

The food was great! The service was great. Everything had a very nice homemade feel and taste. The mashed potatoes and the beef were delicious. The gentleman carving the beef and his assistant serving up the sides helped us navigate the tasty options and had a great inviting attitude. Will come back again!

Unchanged since I was a kid it was like a stepping back into a time machine. Everything tasted great just like it always did this will be a regular stop at my monthly visits to Detroit not just for the steel but for good old fashioned food. Everybody was friendly just like people used to be and the food was so old school ...great

Home style cooking, excellent and friendly service, and the food is ready when you are ready to eat!

This place hasn't changed since I was a kid and the food still reminds me of my grandmas southern cooking. Make sure you get a slice of pie, the sweet potato pie is my favorite. My Dad has been coming here since the 80s and constantly talks about the skrod. Lol I still stick to the roast beef with gravy.

LOVE this place. Been going to the Carver since I was a kid...call Beef Eater then. Very sad there is only this location left so I can't get there very often.

Beef carver is An amazing family restaurant, I come here every Sunday and the food is amazing and the staff are very kind, beef carver is very old fashioned and I love how the Walls are aligned with old school objects, very antiquated.

I have driven by this place for years and never stopped.
My buddy had suggested that I should check this place out. I have been here a total of four times now, and I have enjoyed the food.
Today I went in for lunch and got the roast beef with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. It was delicious.

The only thing I am confused about is two times I have come here, and someone came and check on you did I need more water or whatnot. The other two times, including today, they sat your food down at the table, and no one ever came back. Is it because they only do it for dinner?
Other than that, everything else was great.

Whenever I mention “Beefcarver” for dinner to my family .. I get nothing but excitement and smiles. I have been coming here for 25 years and the food has always been above par. The atmosphere is so homey.. the staff are fun, exciting, personable and just all around positive happy individuals. In today’s generation it is hard to come across those who work in the food industry who are genuine and caring .. and I have always been treated with upmost respect and happiness by the employees here! The food.. is nothing short of amazing. If you are looking for a home style delicious meal this is the place to go.. hands down. The food is so flavorful, juicy, delicious .. you name it. The type of food that will have you wanting to come back for more!
Next time you are craving a home cooked meal.. don’t think twice and stop in! You wont reget it.

Was a great place to have dinner with the family. Staff was all very nice and quick to help with anything.

This is the last one standing! There used to be several locations, including Dearborn, Detroit, Westland and of course this one which is in Royal oak. We have been to all of those locations over the years, my wife even worked at the one in Detroit. The food is always great, and so are the people that work there. As evidence of that we drive from Redford township to Royal oak because we enjoy it so much. I also have family members that drive from Dearborn, Novi, and Farmington hills. There's just no place left like this anywhere.

A family favorite for over 30 years. Always friendly staff and you can quickly get in and out with delicious cafeteria-style served food. my dad actually took me and my siblings here when we were small children as it was a quick way to get many mouths fed while giving Mom a break on the weekend 🙂

My first-time here with my husband. Everything was delish and the people were very friendly. Will return!!

My 97 yo Dad loves this place and so do I. We both love the food and the people, and I like being the youngest one there, lol.

A great meal at a reasonable price. Have not been into the restaurant in a year but it's always like a blast from the past, the past being 40 to 50 years. Enjoyed it very much. Remember going to this restaurant as a child with my parents . The inside has not changed and still reflects the wonderful old style which is absolutely amazing. Very well maintained, very clean, the service was excellent and the food was great. The food tasted as good or better than any time in the past that I remember. Will make it a point to visit more often whenever I am in the Detroit area. I hope this place remains in business for many more years. Thank you for bringing back great memories.

Love this old school cafeteria restaurant. The food is solid and the service is great.
