I'm embarrassed to say it's been 10+ years as a kittery resident and I haven't been here before last night. Immediately upon walking in we could tell the staff were some of the best around. They were so friendly and so attentive. We sat at the bar and the bartender Tascha was amazing! My husband and I split a decent amount of items and all of it was way more than we had expected. The steak was cooked to perfection and we were shocked at the size. The prices are exceptionally reasonable for the quality and quantity. Definitely our new go to in town. Don't pass up the espresso martini

We had a lovely meal here for my husband's birthday. The service, the food, and the decor was really impressive. It's elegant and upscale without feeling pretentious or stuffy. Try not to sit right in the front window at night, though, because it's really annoying to be blinded by headlights coming down the street every few minutes.

Anneke Jans is a wonderfully warm and inviting venue in downtown Kittery. Our reservation was honored at 6:30 on a Wednesday and we were shown to a half-walled section that had 3 tables, making the moment intimate. Ella, our server was gracious and relaxed, never a hint of turning the table. My companion and I shared an Arugula salad, so good w pine nuts and a light vinaigrette. The raw oysters were plated properly and were rich and briny, a bit small but enjoyed. As in Paris, Steak Frites are a must. The meat was perfectly cooked, the matchstick frites were over salted though. The Scottish Salmon was a very generous portion w a nicely crusted skin, resting on a moist bed of shiitake and quinoa, all great flavors that worked together. We lingered 1-1/2 hours and it was very special. There is great value here. With a Tanqueray G & T and 4 glasses of red and white, $155 excluding tip. Will def. return. Thanks.

Fantastic location, excellent service. The fried olives - to die for! The chef’s take on a PB & J was creative and absolutely delicious. The mussels were phenomenal, my girlfriend isn’t a seafood person, but inexplicably couldn’t stop stealing them from my plate.

On to the main courses, the ribeye was done to a perfect medium rare and coupled with the mashed potatoes was a complete melt-in-your-mouth experience. The duck entree was tender, juicy, and flavorful - chef’s kiss!

Bread pudding for dessert really ended the meal with an exclamation point. Top to bottom a truly wonderful dining experience. Friendly staff, 2nd to none food and a bubbly atmosphere.

This is the finest restaurant that I've ever been to and I've been fortunate to eat at many fine restaurants. The level of sophistication and expertise shown in the cooking processes is second to none. Every dish is memorable and every soup of the day inventive and delicious. From the drinks to the desserts, everything is top notch. The location is fortunate because in a major city, they could probably charge 2-3 times and no one would bat an eye.

A local restaurant with wonderful food and drinks. Four of us each had something different, and everything was spectacular. Tables are a little crowded together, so it can be loud.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! We called ahead to ask for a table outside with our two dogs and both times we have been, the staff has gone above and beyond to make us feel so welcomed!! The dogs are always greeted too and even given some salmon, which was so special. They have dog bowls waiting at the table. The staff is so friendly. The food is delicious! I have loved the soups…one time I got the stuffed pepper soup and another time the broccoli and cheese soup. The
Chicken with Ratatouille was so delicious. The bread pudding is the best I’ve had. My husband is an amazing chef and we are just so impressed by this restaurant. Everything is so fresh and it’s obvious they really know their food here.

Delicious and great service. Lots of items in the menu that you don’t find other places. The fried olives and burrata salad were really great apps. And everyone at the table liked their meals. The salmon which I had was quite delish. 10/10 would recommend.

An EXCELLENT dining experience. The wife and I visited for our anniversary, let me tell YOU! They greeted us like we were regulars, the staff made great cocktails (vesper was my favorite), the food was hot and perfectly seasoned (steak for me and scallops for my darling wife). I can’t recommend enough the fried olives with garlic aioli for a shareable it comes with a cool surprise presentation! The host is literally this darling gentleman who checks in on everyone, it really is quintessential fine dining meets comforting atmosphere! Folks if you’re in Kittery, this is a must dine experience! Don’t forget to make a reservation, we came on a Wednesday and it was PACKED!

My husband and I came up from Boston for an event and later ate dinner here for the first time. It had a really upbeat vibe, the drinks were amazing and the food was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and super friendly. The owner accommodated my request for a table away from the crowd and he was delightful. Look forward to going again!

Very intimate atmosphere, eloquent space, and amazing food prepared by very talented chefs. There are no bad choices. I always get the mussels though. I couldn't make them better myself. The cocktails are great too. The lounge is perfect if you want a more casual option but it's still classy.
