S & J Cafe

The food is absolutely delicious & the atmosphere is welcoming. It felt like sitting in my own kitchen but the food taste better! Highly recommend.

The restaurant is clean and the service stellar. We were seated immediately and provided menus as well as silverware and water. You could tell the people around us had been coming there for a while as there was familiarity amongst the patrons.
The food was cooked to our exact specifications and the quality was noticeable. There was interactive conversation during the meal yet not overwhelming. The bill was brought to us promptly and processed quickly. We were in and out in 30 minutes but it felt like we had been there all day. Love places like these. A home away from home.

Great little spot for food... hash browns were hand shredded and really good.. we went early and had no issues but place is small. We will be back!!! Can’t wait to try other items and see what lunch looks like.

Update!! Second trip was even better!! If you have to wait for a table or bar stool don’t get mad.. food is well worth it..

While visiting my in-laws we stopped in for a late breakfast and I'm glad we did. I had the house special the "stacky". It's scrambled eggs in a wrap with hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. We definitely will stop back in next time we are visiting.

Been going to the S&J Cafe for quite a while and think it about time to give a little back...this place is a breakfast gem. Best breakfast in town, local diner feel, and great Owners and Staff. Always treated as the most important person in the restaurant (everyone is). I typically have my same OE, SP, HB w. Onion / Swiss and sour dough toast but ventured out this week. I do have to say this was the best CBH I have ever had! Great work Scott and team, you guys are awesome!

This place! I can't say enough good about it... small town, family owned, they have a bakery chef for their pies... the waitress is the daughter... what a place! Going to come back whenever I can... Oconomowoc is a beautiful city...p.s. whoever bought me breakfast.. thank you...

Surprisingly great menu from the outside u would not know this is a hidden gem.. love the people staff cook just a great place eggs Benedict r great u will not go wrong here

I am a cook, and I should tell you that the Cafe is outstanding. I know a omelet is a omelet but when you know how to season food it makes all the difference! My husband had the biscuits and gravy and couldn't stop commenting on the flavor of the gravy and the delicious biscuits! We can't wait to go back and try lunch! Wait staff is excellent! We will be back!!

I have been coming to this location for over 25 years trying out the different owners food flair. I will have to say I love this place. Jen and Scott are amazing. Great customer service. Always a smile and a great conversation. Old town feel with great food. You have to try the toast. Crunch every bite!! The food at this place is great. Try anything and you will love it. Great desserts as well. Thanks to Jen, Scott and the rest of the employees for making this place feel like home.

The owner and staff are very nice . Hamburger on rye was the best I have ever had. Husband's breakfast was very good. This place is small and if you have to wait` it will be well worth the time. Can't wait to return someday...

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Just had one of the best omelets ever. The cook/owner is super personable and knows everyone by name. Great atmosphere and even better food. The only thing I would change, is I wish I lived closer.

This place was great. Small place with real friendly staff. The food was great. My wrap was delicious, hashbrowns were NOT oily like other places, and my wife was able to eat her scramble eggs because they were cooked perfectly (no liquid). And she couldn't stop talking about how great the sourdough toast was. Perfect amount of butter was added. This was our first time here, we will be back.

All the food is great. Great service too! Nice to sit right by grill and see your food being cooked.

Had an absolutely amazing breakfast at this tiny cafe. We took seats at the bar and chatted all morning with the very friendly chef/owner.

Coffee was strong and fantastic. The "Stovey" breakfast wrap is like a breakfast burrito, except just a bit lighter because they wrap it in a Norwegian crepe instead of a tortilla. Hash browns on the side we're fantastically well-cooked.

Huge recommendation for the Salmon Caesar Salad. Omg it was so good. They smoke their own salmon (to perfection!) and the rest of the salad is beautifully arranged. Don't forget the earth-shatteringly good garlic toast on the side. Wowowow!

We polished our meal off with a slice of Oreo Cream pie. It's like cheesecake mixed with Oreo, but just a little softer. I've never had anything like it and will dream about it for the rest of my life!
