First time going to gym and wow was I impressed. The equipment is exactly what you want if you want to move some weight around. Plenty of treadmills for runners as well. Has a turf area to stretch and do abs. The wall art is my favorite part of this place. Speaks the minds of the environment that American Muscle is all about. The owner Jason was very accommodating as it being my first time walking in the door.

Got my first day for free and $5 day pass after that. Only visit family in the area for the holiday but will be back to this gym every time I am home.

If you are looking for a gym that fuels a positive environment for you to workout. Staff is friendly and down to earth. They do have some personal trainers for people who are new to working out. Gym is set up very nicely consolidating equipment in muscle groups. Always is clean as it seems they are cleaning something all day. Something that is out of their control is the customer basis. Seems like everyone is friendly and respectful to others in the gym. Overall very nice gym and would recommend to anyone.

I really appreciate the atmosphere created by the owner and his staff. The facility provides for a number of fitness options from free weights to fitness classes for all ages. If you are just starting out on your quest for fitness, the personal trainers are top notch, and provide an opportunity to learn property technique and fresh combination of exercise to promote muscle and fitness.

I'm really glad that I'm lucky enough to have found and live so close to American Muscle & Fitness. I workout there 3-5 days a week and there are a ton of different options to choose from to suit your fitness needs. Everyone that works there is super friendly and so is the owner. The trainers are great too. I have been going to this gym since June and I'm definitely going to continue going there. They open early, which has really made it possible for me to fit it into my busy schedule. I highly recommend it.

There is a great atmosphere there and everyone there is very helpful and knowledgeable. Since I have been there they always seem to keep gym clean and are always updating there gym equipment. If looking for a place to train while in the area or just looking to start your fitness journey this is a great place to come.

Retired Army, living South Carolina and when I visit family in Akron, I look for a local gym to work out during my stay. American Muscle & Fitness is by far the best in the Akron area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The gym has an old school feel (I love) but yet is still contemporary. Rather you are looking for cardio fitness, packing on muscle, increasing power, or functional fitness, this gym has at all. They also have wide selection of protein shakes and supplements to fuel and repair your body after your work out, that are reasonably priced. Definitely check out American Muscle & Fitness for your fitness needs. You will be more than happy with this gym.

Super clean and friendly! I started my fitness journey in this very gym. Walking in without a lot of knowledge was a little intimidating, but Jason and his staff were very helpful in explaining the equipment, and made me feel right at home.

I reached out to Jason the owner about doing a photoshoot for a fitness competition that I am in. He immediately extended the use of his gym to me and set me up for what ultimately ended up being one of my favorite gym experiences of all time. Not only is the gym loaded in terms of equipment, the versatility it offers as far as fitness styles is insane. They have tires, ropes, boxing bags, mirrored rooms, free weights- literally anything you could think of. And the clientele is incredible. I was insanely comfortable in a situation I expected to feel incredible vulnerable in. Everyone was welcoming and supportive of the shoot, catering to what we were doing- which is not something I wanted or even expected but the fact that they did just goes to show the type of environment they have created there. The energy is what truly makes it special and as someone who has previously worked with Jason and Jessica I completely understand how that came to be. I would recommend this gym to everyone.

I came to Akron to visit my family for a couple weeks, and needed a gym to keep it going. I called American Muscle and Fitness and they didn’t hesitate to have me use their facility. They treated me like a regular, and I got plugged in that day. Plenty of equipment available, and all of it is quality and well kept. Honestly I hate that I can’t have this exact gym in my current hometown. Jason and the staff are great peoples(shoutout to Sam for always being available and helpful). Don’t hesitate to make this your everyday gym.

I love this gym! The owner, Jason is friendly, kind and super knowledgeable. He takes pride in his business and is always making sure everyone is happy. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, including the trainers. They have all the equipment you could want, including group classes. The hours are great, cost is extremely reasonable, and the other gym goers are cool too. I’m very happy to have found American Muscle!

Such a great local gym here in portage lakes! Good equipment, locker rooms with shower, clean facility, and everything you need to make the most of your workout! The staff and owner are super nice and very welcoming to current and new members!

Wonderful gym! A great environment that is conducive to bettering myself and achieving my goals. All of the staff there are super helpful and transparent. The owner is always around and willing to help with any needs you have. He especially handled the pandemic very well and is always looking for ways to improve an already great gym! I workout by myself and never had to worry about finding a spotter. All the equipment is in great condition. 10/10 would recommend American Muscle & Fitness to anyone looking to better themselves physically.

Great gym with lots of equipment for your swole needs. People in this gym are there to work and not sit around on their phones. Love the vibes from all the posters and motivational items spread throughout the gym. A must visit when in the area for a good pump!!

I love this gym. The staff is very friendly, and it’s super clean. Great equipment, and they recently moved the heavy dumbbells to the top rack. Highly recommend.

Awesome gym and great equipment. Great place to get in, get your work done, and get out. It's never super busy/ crowded. Ownership is very helpful. If you're in the area and looking for a gym it's a no-brainer to sign up.
