Akron Civic Theatre

Clean venue with options for food and drinks within walking distance. Parking wasn't horrible as I arrived fairly early, so finding space in a parking garage was easy. Entry was fast and painless despite the long line. The venue doesn't have a bad seat in the place.

Went to see Jodeci and had a wonderful time. So many great songs and they sang the MESS out of them all. Wasn't too fond of the opening act but I wasn't there for them either🤣🤣🤣

Such an amazing venue. Saw John Oliver tonight and he articulated what I have always thought about this theater. When the owner was asked what type of architectural theme they wanted, they replied with "yes" so much detail in the stage and surrounding area. Reminds you of a scene straight out of Romeo and Juliet. Seats are quite comfy but the slope of the seats is minimal towards the front of the stage. I am tall but have lots of leg room, which is a huge win for me. I do try and slouch so I don't block those sitting two or three rows behind me though.

What an experience and it didn't break the bank, the theatre is beautiful!I enjoyed dressing up and going to a concert, however I wish they would just spend the money to switch out the seats. It is not the 1950's anymore and we need a little more space these days.

We went here to watch the Pink Floyd tribute band. Wish you were here. And they were absolutely amazing. This venue is incredible. The handcrafted custom carpentry and wood work that is present throughout the entire facility is nothing short of exquisite. Clearly, it’s been well-maintained and Upgrade in three years and the venue is perfect for shows of this nature. The bathrooms are clean. The staff was nice and the vendors were great. We are looking forward to coming back this venue for another show. Not only is the place extremely cool, but it’s close to so many other good restaurants and bars and makes it a perfect fit for shows like this.

Gorgeous and so well run! Could have used a little more A/C, but it was such a fun night! The check in process was smooth, the lines moved quickly, and getting a drink during the show was painless!

My sister and I went to see Derick Hough's Symphony of Dance show, which was superb!. We drove in from a western suburb of Cleveland, so it was only an hour drive. I have been to Akron Civic Theater on several occasions and am always amazed at the beauty of this intimate theater which began as a movie theater in 1929. There is so much to see that you really need to take a tour to see all the details. "The ceiling depicts the January sky over Monaco on the Mediterranean Sea because at this time of the year it is at its brightest. " according to the theater program. We had 3rd row seats in the loge with an excellent view of the stage. Because of the lighting on the stage and the quality of my phone camera, I was not able to get good pictures, but will include a few showing our view from the stage, and a selfie showing the balcony behind us. There was a large crowd but the ticket takers were efficient and patient. We waited a few minutes before we left our seats to avoid the crowded stairs.

We’ve been to this venue several times in the past, each time to see a band. This time we came to see Wish You Were Here, a Pink Floyd cover band. They’re great! We sat in the pit, in the very first row! It was amazing. This venue has plenty of seating and there are no bad seats. They had drinks and snacks for sale both in the hall when you come in and also in the hall where you enter the actual theater. Bathrooms were clean and located in convenient areas. This is a great venue!

Came from Kentucky to see Logic ft Juicy J. We weren't sure what to expect from a concert at a smaller venue than normal. The Akron Civic Theatre blew away our expectations, and we absolutely loved every minute of being there. Beautiful building, with very reasonable pricing for shows.

RESTROOMS DIRECTIONS:
First walk into the entrance
then you are faced with the big balcony stairs
You walk past the stairs on the right to the doorway then take an immediate right all the way down the wide hallway to end of the building and they’ll be right there you’ll see the signs!

SEATING: Went to see Logic, honestly any seat in that place would’ve been great including the ones we chose in the back left row. Obviously the closer you are the more money it is but it was a really good experience! Great place really!

Such a fun and unique theatre. Love seeing jazz there.

Amazing show!! Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd Tribute Band. Akron Civic Theatre was very accommodating regarding our daughter in a wheelchair and needing special services!! We can't thank them enough for their kindness and understanding!!

This historic venue is an amazing structure that repels theatre. Nicely designed and detailed crafted that when you start walking through the main entrance it is like you are in a time capsule. The architecture is enchanting. Medieval and church like decorated with pieces from different cultures and classically carpeted. Nice and friendly staff, up to date restrooms, and cool bartenders. Parking available nearby and parking garages.

This place has a beautiful architecture. We were mesmerized at the design. We came all the way from Michigan to see Tim Hawkins, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed the show . It was spectacular

Phenomenal theater!! So breathtaking Love the history !! A theater that you can’t imagine!!! A must to go to!!!
They also have Knight Stage and the Avenue. We had been in The Knight stage.

This theater is Amazing !! A gem in Akron Ohio ! The inside it’s like a Disney Movie! The detail inside it’s like a Goudy style ! It’s a must see if you are in the city ! Make sure you have a nice camera to do the dark shots !! Superb ! Plus the city has been redoing downtown Akron ! Coffee shops near by !! The Cuyahoga valley National park !! And the best pizza shop ever !! Luigi’s Delic !!!

This is such a lovely venue. We saw a Journey tribute band. There is free parking a couple blocks down in the parking deck on the weekend.

We had a blast at the Journey Tribute Band, Escape! The music was awesome and the venue is beautiful! Can't wait until the next concert at the gorgeous theater!
