Just great its FRIDAY OCT 13 😲😬 - and my awesome rescue buddy is feeling really yucky. After numerous throw ups during the day , it’s now approaching evening and she just wouldn’t eat ( even treats). I decided I had better take her to the only open vet and in addition the ONLY vet who would see her after trying unsuccessfully during the day . When we arrived we were met by such a helpful caring team. Within minutes we sat down waiting for our turn to see the doctor. Again within minutes, Andy was taken to a room and I was taken into another room with Dr Baltic who listened attentively, writing down all my concerns, and suggesting what tests she would do , with my permission, and would call me as soon as her results were ready. Yes, the wait seemed to take forever , the waiting room was packed with owners still waiting their turn to go back, however upon arrival everyone was told it would be a good 2 1/2 to 3 hr wait. Dr. Baltic called me saying Andy's diagnostics were back , Blood work looked good on the x-rays and no obvious causes of the vomiting and she does have a hip disease or arthritis so I was just wanted to talk to you about if you thought that Andy was ever painful and wanted something for arthritis or if we just wanted to treat the skin. Wow , unreal, I previously had taken her to 3 vets re. her limping - all stating maybe she had laid wrong , perhaps jumped , always hearing everything feels fine and on & on with not one of the 3 suggesting maybe take an X-ray. I simply can’t express my complete appreciation and thankfulness for Dr. Baltic . Also, their team of just the kindest ,understanding, and friendly staff . The gals pictured are Hannah and Jill, who so pleasantly 😊fielded the many “How soon “ we’ve been here forever “ 😠questions. Clark, a mini labradoodle also pictured and my best buddy , Andy , ready to go home .

Spent a few hours there, from midnight to 4am this morning. My cat had issues so day or night you take care of your kid. This wasn't my 1st visit here over the many years and won't be my last.

The staff of this hospital is first rate in professionalism, understanding and above all talent. We were well cared for last night but more importantly my cat was also.

I think every pet owner would pay anything to ease their animals suffering and a all night hospital could easily take advantage of those emotions to pad the bills. Metropolitan has never treated us like that in any of our visits. You will pay more at 2 am than 2 pm anywhere so that's expected but they have never taken advantage of us that way.

Thank you for all you do for our animals. Thank you most of all for being available 24 hours. You are all fantastic people.

The vets here are very nice people. They make sure you know what's going on every step of the way. The waiting room options are very flexible, you can even wait in your car after being checked in.
Helped my baby out too. General admission isn't too pricey, either. Much love.

The staff goes above and beyond for their patients. After feeling hopeless and being told there were no options left for my dog Miley, I brought her to Dr.Padgett and he did everything for her. He removed an internal mass and did everything possible to maximize her care. He did an excellent job explaining everything from the second i consulted with him, to reaching out regarding follow ups after the procedure. If you feel hopeless and want to trust someone willing to save your furbaby, it’s him. Dr.Elpiner also completed an ultrasound for Miley and was excellent with her and explained everything throughly.

Unfortunately Casey has seen lots of vets and specialists during his last three years but Metropolitan Vet Hospital is the best of all by a long shot. Every touch point with them demonstrates their commitment to the animals. My main doc is dr. Gamblin. He is considerate, educated, candid and caring. I also sing praise to those that are not the main specialists but support crew from the assistants, interns and schedulers.

I can't thank Metro Vet Hospital enough for the exceptional care they provided to my beloved dog, Cora. When faced with a rectal mass that needed to be removed, I was referred to Metro Vet by my regular vet, CoTwins. From the very start, the process was incredibly smooth. We were able to schedule both the consultation and surgery promptly, which was a great relief.

Dr. Collins, who performed the surgery on 8/14/23, instilled a sense of confidence in me. His expertise and knowledge were evident, and he took the time during the consultation to explain every aspect of the procedure. This thorough explanation not only eased my worries but also helped me understand the entire process better.

What truly sets Metro Vet Hospital apart is their transparency and communication. They provided clear information about the costs involved, ensuring there were no surprises. Throughout Cora's stay, they maintained constant communication, keeping me informed about her condition and progress.

The follow-up care has been exceptional as well. I've received several phone calls checking in on Cora's recovery, which speaks volumes about their genuine concern for their patients' well-being.

The entire staff at Metro Vet Hospital deserves praise. Their professionalism, compassion, and dedication to the animals they treat are truly commendable. I can confidently say that Cora received the best possible care under their watchful eyes.

Our local vet recommended the cardiology dept at Metropolitan Animal Hospital for our golden retriever Maxwell. The staff and the Dr. were beyond helpful and caring. We were so thankful for their care of Maxwell and their care for us during his battle with congestive heart failure. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this facility and its staff.

We took our dog Sammy to MVH ER yesterday after he had a cluster seizure. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and pleasant and wanted the best for our fur baby. After a very thorough exam and meeting with the dr we decided to run a few more diagnostic tests. After further review they found some additional issues and decided to keep him overnight. They explained that no news was good news but if we need to call and check on him at anytime we were encouraged to do so. But that the Dr would call us in the morning after rounds. Just as promised the Dr called and explained how Sammy did overnight and what the plan was for his care for the day and when he was able to return home. She was very attentive to him as was all the staff. She wanted to continue to monitor him for a good portion of the day and explained she would call in the afternoon and we would see how he was progressing. And again as promised she called and explained everything that had happened and said she was going to release him to come home. She again went over the plan and answered any questions that we had. The care and concern that they showed for our fur baby could not have been better. Thank you so much for you thought and care we appreciate all the staff at MVH.

My husband and I took our young kitty here for a cardiologist appointment and every staff member I spoke to was insanely kind and friendly. I felt very comfortable here even though we aren't from around the area. Thankful that lil Hashbrown is just fine and thankful for their attentive care for our pet. 💚

Wonderful experience. We have a very aggressive dog who does not handle people. can’t be with out a muzzle. This staff didn’t even have a muzzle on after 30 minutes of getting inside. We were our side warming up for about 30. Destiny Miller is AMAZING!! She was so great beyond patience. Amazing with rough animals. She needs to train. She’s truly amazing!!! She did so good with our dog Hazel. She’s never been able to be how she was today! This is beyond the place to take your animal

I love this facility in Akron, OH! The neurologists - Dr Dantio and Dr. Tadros were excellent. The did an MRI and performed surgery on my dog. She had a large amount of extruded degenerate disc material pushing on her spinal cord and she couldn't use her back legs. She is a 12 year old dog and I didn't know if she would walk again. She was walking on both back legs, 2 days after surgery. Wobbly, but walking. We've got a ways to go on recovery, but I am so happy and relieved!!! The doctors are very informative, compassionate and personable and obviously, know their stuff. The whole staff at the Veterinary Hospital are compassionate and friendly. We traveled 4 hours to get help for my dog and it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this Emergency Hospital to anyone !!!

I took my cat Gerry because he was shaking and panting. I know some have complained about wait times but this is an emergency room, go to a people ER and cases are also triaged there. Sicker is seen faster. As a true emergency, he was seen right away. He was so sick. The staff was compassionate, kind, and honest about his condition. I waited while they ran tests and he had perked up so I went home. They called me a few hours later because he had taken a turn for the worse. He was clearly dying so I ended up opting for humane euthanasia. They gave me all the time I needed before and after. I was able to be with him and hold him before, during and after, he died peacefully in my arms. Again, the staff and vet were caring and compassionate. They guided me gently, respected my wishes and gave me time with my precious boy. I hope I never have to, but I would absolutely go there again.

Unfortunately we had to make a middle of the night visit here all the way from Sandusky after one of our cats managed to get his paw in the bird cage causing a large gash under his wing. Everyone from reception to the technicians to the vet were so amazing. Despite being 1am they were all in good spirits and took great care of our Bean. We were able to pick him up Saturday and he is doing great. We hope to never have to visit on emergency again but are so grateful for everyone there. Thank you for saving our little buddy!!

Wonderful staff, wonderful facility. Recently we had to have our dog Aubrey put to sleep there. Approximately a year and a half earlier they performed back surgery on her which allowed us to have another wonderful year and a half with her. Having this additional time with her allowed us to cherish every moment with this wonderful soul that just happened to be a dog.

I took my boy Boogers there after going to Avon animal hospital. They referred me to them after discovering a tumor. I was seen right away due to his problem. Unfortunately I was told it might be cancer😭. I'm going back to get the recommended CT scan and test to find out for sure if the tumor is cancer. Praying for my boy.. . They are so great there. Can't say how much I appreciate the ppl there. GREAT STAFF AND DOCTORS!!!!.

Highly recommend this facility, its Doctors and staff. I've been bringing my dogs to this facility since 2006 when my first dog Wally had a hip replacement with Dr. Daye. Currently my oldest dog Stanley is being seen quarterly in Oncology by Dr. Elpiner for follow up exams after a tail amputation. I am very happy with the treatment and care Stanley has been receiving at this facility. Thank you Dr. Elpiner and Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital Staff!

I have only the most positive things to say about this place and can honestly say your furbaby is in the right place. The staff was fantastic and the docs were amazing. I received follow calls EVERY DAY...an amazing group! Thank you for saving my Sphie!

My boxer who is my baby, my pride and joy was staying with a family member while I was helping another family member, she got loose and got hit by a car the broke her femur, our options were amputation, screws, pins and rods in her leg or we put her down well putting her down was not an option Akron Metro took our baby in and yes it was very expensive but they took amazing care of her they kept us updated every step of the way they treated her as if she was one of their own and they continue to call checking in her we have had a few issues with Luna not wanting to use her leg and the staff has answered every call and worked over time to find a vet or pharmacy to fill new meds for Luna they have been great! I couldn’t ask for better care for our baby!!

Today we came in scared and frantic through emergency services. Wanted to write this review thanking every staff member for being so kind and making sure our fur baby was safe. Jasper is doing so much better and it’s all because of the staff❤ A huge thank you for saving our baby from us & jasper. You do phenomenal work!
