Now this restaurant...I couldn't say more amazing things about this place. Their mission station and food passion will NEVER take a compromise. They source and seek out only the highest of quality ingredients and get whatever they can from local producers whenever possible. They have an amazing menu that has some standard items but also some seasonal items that make you wanting to come back as the seasons change..so you can enjoy the amazingness that is created here.

I've had breakfast here about 5 times in the past 18months and I'm so excited to try their newly arrived dinner that they now offer, I believe 3 days a week.

You can really taste the love and quality in the dishes they prepare and their freshly made breads are wonderful.
They make amazing coffees and teas as well...I had their jasmine tea recently and it was absolutely to die for, probably going to get that again.

If you ever have the chance to reserve a seat for a food & wine pairing, do it! Michael, Jenn and the crew prepared and delivered a memorable and delicious experience for Oktoberfest. Come hungry, leave satisfied and feeling like family with an elegant & elevated dining experience.

We came by on a weekday for brunch and had the foresight to put our name on the waitlist before going to the restaurant. We ordered mostly off the specials list and had so much food for two of us (in defense to our waitress she did warn us the sheer amount of food)
old german apple pancake - delicious and ginormous! The apples were so thin and the bacon baked in it made a great balance!
fall harvest crepe - thin and perfection! Definitely balanced out the sweetness of the pancake. Chicken was great and the cranberry sauce helps cut the savory factor.
The sausage was great! We just wanted more meat. The whipped cottage cheese started made me a believer in cottage cheese.

The bakery was pretty cleaned out by the time we were eating, but we’re encouraged to come in the morning when the bakery opened - we did and got the cinnamon roll and sweet bun - both were fabulous and so glad we were able to make the early morning outting to get them!

This is late but from a few weeks ago…

After a crazy week that started in Chicago and ended in Akron (with a very short pit stop in Defiance) my coworker and myself were looking for a nice place to have breakfast and boy oh boy did we find it!!! The Blue Door Cafe & Bakery was awesome. I had Chicken & Waffles that were simply amazing, and a caramel macchiato. My coworker had the smoked salmon and eggs and a espresso affogado (coffee with a scoop of ice cream). Amazing food and fantastic service! What a way to start the day! Now to fly home!

This place was packed when we got there and there was a reason it for it. It's amazing. The creativity of the dishes, the quality of the ingredients is the difference. Everyone should try this place.
Also now they have dinner. This is a totally different staff in the kitchen for dinner. The chef is amazing with great creative dishes and the food is full of flavor. I had the mussels with shredded potatoes on top in a wine and cheese type sauce. Everything at the place is great.

Awesome food. You must call ahead of time if you want to eat here. It a very popular restaurant. We had breakfast there and will come back. The staff there are awesome. The food was out of the world. I had crepes and the filling had lemon flavor to them which was wonderful. Check the menu out.

The coffee was great, the bakery was incredible, and the food was NEXT LEVEL. We got 3 items off the specialty menu and they did not disappoint! 10/10 and will be traveling from Youngstown again for this food! 😍

Overall great and definitely will be back again. We have been here a few times prior, but not as much due to the distance. Lovely family owned and run. Some authentic dishes and others with a twist from crepes to French bread. If I had to be picky, the sausage in my “BD breakfast muffin” (sandwhich) was a bit over cooked and minimal cheese on it too (opted for no hollandaise sauce). The pound of bacon was so flavorful with the 4 different kinds, but slightly underwhelming presentation with 4 slices on a giant wood board. Husband loved the French bread special. The crepes were perfect. Saturday morning breakfast we got seated immediately, but we just beat the brunch rush. Specials on the menu are swapped out regularly, so we are told. Inside is cozy and patio is lovely too.

I just wanna say wow. These reviews don’t lie. What an absolute gem to have right here in Ohio. We went on a Saturday around 11 and they were busy, not surprised and was definitely okay waiting to see the hype about this place. Our group of 4 managed to get seated in about 20 minutes or less which was impressive.
Some of the reviews unhappily state how crowded it is in here, but I see that as just another sign of how good this place is. So it didn’t bother me how close some of the tables were, especially since everyone was minding their own.
Even considering how busy it was, our waitress was over to greet us as soon as possible and we didn’t feel ignored. She personable, attentive and added to our awesome experience.
I started off with their very berry tea which was amazing. Super potent and naturally sweetened. I regret not buying from their retail selection.
For my meal I ordered the seasonal dish: blackberry bramble breakfast quiche. It smelt good as soon as I saw it. The salad and the fruit that came with it were both fresh and flavorful. The quiche itself was perfectly cooked. The crust, not too dry or burnt and the inside of the quiche wasn’t dry either. Also tasted great with the added blackberries. My only note would be to have a quiche with no ham in it. It was still great with the ham, but I feel like a different meat or or even another veggie would’ve made it stand out even more.
My fiancé and I tried to get a blueberry scone and a cherry danish but unfortunately they were out for the day, which I understand. First come, first serve. We’ll make sure to come earlier in the morning to ensure we try those pastries next time. We settled for a regular danish and it was delicious.
All in all, this was a great experience and I can’t wait to come back again!

We waited about 15 minutes for a table on a Sunday at noon [took advantage of the waitlist online] and had a delicious brunch (had the schnitzel & german potato salad special and the strawberry crepes). Other orders at the table included bacon & eggs that were perfectly cooked as ordered. I enjoyed the gin/lavendar cocktail- very refreshing. The prices are more expensive than I anticipated but I'll definitely return.

Went for the first time on Saturday, the 27th of Jan. One of the most perfect meals I have ever had! I am retired US Navy and have eaten meals all over the world, but this is prob the #1! 14oz Australian Waygu prime rib perfectly medium rare with baby carrots and tri color potato gratin.

This place is 1000% worth the wait. The place is so comfortable. You feel like you are at a friends. The food is flawless. We were planning our next visit before we left.

This is the best restaurant in the area that I’ve been to so far. I thought the service was good, the owner seemed nice and seemed like he legitimately cared. The quality of the food here should be the standard for restaurants in the area. A 4.5 is a more accurate rating for me, but that’s compared to a 5 star being way more expensive Michelin starred meals for me.

The portions for the dishes were a bit big for my personal preference, but I think the portions are pretty standard for the area.

I probably had more of a unique experience than most and tried 3 different brunch items. I was able to spend a little time with the owner who gave me a little history and discussion on his approach. I am extremely impressed by the attentiveness of the staff, the layers of flavor in the dishes, and the overall environment. I don't live nearby, but have spread the word to those I was visiting and their friends. When I am back in town, I will certainly find my way back here

We have eaten here several times both on the weekend and on week days. The food is amazing!! It’s evident that the ingredients are fresh and sourced in local areas. Every meal has been a wonderful one and the pastries are off the charts!! I Understand that once in a while they have evening events, I’d love to come to a themed evening dinner!!! Let me know when they are!!!

They were wonderful, they made my fiancée feel special for her birthday breakfast! Everything is allways so tasty! You get to have a 5 star meal without breaking the bank and every one is so nice, and if you did maybe have a not perfect experience then give them a chance to make it right! 😊 10 stars highly recommend!

Dinner was impeccable! The food was so delicous, I love the small plates, self paced setting. This place is incredible from kitchen to the front line. If you haven't scheduled that dinner reservation, do it now!

Oh my goodness! This place is heaven in a breakfast / brunch setting. You can not go wrong with anything here. We loved the scones, muffins and chicken & waffles. Be sure to check in or get on the waiting list ahead of time because this is a local favorite. Customer service is exceptional as well.

Bright but TINY spot. Friendly service and fun, creative, and most of all tasty menu. The Peach Bacon Burbon French Toast was to fantastic.

All dishes are well cooked. Very good service. Duck Nduja and trout dip are surprisingly delicious. Clam conserva and fried chicken remind me of Japanese food, but they're a little bit too salty for me so I had to keep drinking water (or I should have ordered some bread or potatoes). Overall, highly recommended.
