Scott is the best. His talent is only exceeded by his patience. I would recommend Scott for both adults and children. I am a middle-aged self-taught guitar player, and my son is a ten-year-old with talent in his fingers and ants in his pants. Scott did a great job of tailoring our lessons to each of our desires and strengths which helped keep both of us learners engaged. After 15 years of playing the guitar, I had resolved myself to aimless wanderings around the fretboard, but now after working with Scott I feel like I have started the first chapter of a whole new book.

Scott has an immense wealth of musical and guitar-related knowledge, and he's very generous with that knowledge. At a time when my playing had hit a plateau, and none of the local teachers seemed like they had much to offer me, Scott's instruction opened up an entire world of technique, theory, and gear-related possibilities that reinvigorated my passion for playing the guitar.

Studying with Scott filled the gaps in my disparate knowledge I'd acquired up to that point as a self-taught guitar player. I made massive improvements rather quickly that have led to me becoming a very busy and sought-after working guitarist in my region, as well as taking on a few of my own guitar students.

Additionally, Scott has done fantastic custom work on one of my guitars, making it truly unique and a joy to play.

Regardless of your ability level, he will meet you where you’re at and take you where you want to go. I couldn’t recommend him enough to anybody looking to take their playing to another level.

Scott is a great instructor. He’s got the technical knowledge and the physical chops to really get to work. He’s got great taste in music, a great environment to play, and it’s always fun. An added bonus is his know-how with the build and components of the guitar. We built a custom guitar from scratch and he nailed the wiring and build. 10 years later I have never had a single issue with it. It’s still a workhorse.

I have been training under Scott for 4 years now and have even referred several of his other students. My progress in the first few months of taking lessons exceeded anything I learned in 20 years of noodling or lessons with other instructors. Today I continue to gain confidence and new skills that I never knew I was capable of. Scott has a fun way of mixing in music theory, guitar technique, and learning new songs that keeps you engaged. As an experienced instructor, he always has lessons planned for you regardless of your ability, or he will work on something specific that you want to learn. If I ever feel stuck or discouraged, after the next lesson I quickly overcome the obstacles and my desire to improve is re-energized. If you are serious about learning to play, I recommend Guitar Strength without hesitation.

Scott and I are both alumni of Berklee College of Music. So when I've taken lessons from Scott a lot of the time we sat and simply talked about guitar playing, i.e. technique, technology, approaches, styles, players and on and on. I always found Scott to be insightful and informative. It is clear that Scott has spent a great deal of time and effort to reach the level of skill and knowledge he's achieved. Learning guitar can be a lot of fun but it can also be information overload. Between learning technique, theory, instrument maintenance etc. Scott has been an invaluable guide in helping me develop as a player and person. Whether your 60 looking to pick up an acoustic guitar for the first time or an 8 year old prodigy trying to learn CAFO Scott can help you out. Will Guitar Strength teach you how to master the guitar idk I haven’t, but provide you a venue to learn and grow.

Scott is the best! He’s an absolute rockstar, and super talented, but he also is extremely patient and willing to take the time to make sure that you understand what he is saying. As a beginner with zero guitar experience prior to meeting Scott, I felt comfortable with him as a struggling beginner, and now well over a year into lessons with him I still feel comfortable as a struggling beginner…I have fun talking music with Scott, and he has me playing music that I never thought I’d ever be able to do.

I’ve had a lot of guitar teachers over the years. The majority of them used the lesson to show you how good they were not encourage you on how to be better. Scott worked with me at my level. Adjusting his lesson plan to things I was capable of doing and learning. He prepared me many times for my gigs by working to improve my skills based on my song list. I miss the personal relationship. I miss his guidance and teaching. I’ve known Scott for almost 15 years. I live now in the Bay Area of San Francisco and I’ve not been able to find a teacher with the skills that Scott possess.

Hands down these are some of the best lessons any aspiring guitarist can get. They are tailored to you , to help your technique and get your fingers moving. Scott helped me when I was struggling with alot of theory related questions and opened my eyes to alot of things that I didn't even know were possible!!
