Sombrero Mexican Food

I come here a lot for breakfast burritos, late night munchies, and those nights you don’t feel like cooking and washing dishes. The food is always tasty, warm, and comforting. If I had to critique anything it would be sometimes the chipotle sauce cup can be filled a little higher but other than that everyone is always so nice also you can’t beat the rewards! We get free tacos and burritos pretty frequently!

I visited here from Chicago as a blink 182 fan, and came to find good food and a great atmosphere! Maybe it's not the best Mexican food I've ever had, but the portions were good (my taco was overflowing with cheese) ordering was easy and customization friendly, and the staff were incredibly nice people. Seems like a chill place for locals to hang out!

I love the food here. Its always fresh and fantastic. My favorites are they fish and calamari tacos. Also, there is a calamari burrito that I get almost every time. They even have a little salsa bar. Good food, good eats. 😁

I got the Chile Relleno stuffed in a shrimp burrito, saw the idea on Facebook.

Bruh I'd been going here regularly for a year before some guy at work was like 'oh yeah that's the Sombrero Mexican food place they mention in the song Josie by blink 182'. So not only do they have super dank Mexican food within walking distance of my house, but there's a sick shrine to blink 182 in the bathroom. Favorite restaurant in the area for two reasons now. Everybody mentions the California burrito here cause it slaps but so does everything else on the menu, the chimichangas are also bomb

Very good food at reasonable prices. Salsa's were great. Quality is like a sit down restaurant. Atmosphere is fine but more like a fast food place.

Yes, this is the Sombrero's location mentioned in the Blink-182 song, "Josie." Tom and the original drummer, Scott, attended Poway High School, which is just up the road. There are a bunch of fan messages tagged in permanent marker in the bathroom and the restaurant recently sold exclusive Blink-182 merchandise, though it sold out almost immediately and is not expected to be offered a second time. As far as the food goes, the band didn't sing about it fondly for nothing, it's amazing. The California Burrito is great (it's got fries in it which is unique and tastes great), as well as their Breakfast Burritos,l. They also make great quesadillas, and I personally love both the Tortas and the Nacho Supreme (try it with adobada meat). They also have churros, and several Mexican Restaurant type drinks (horchata, tamarindo, etc). I usually go here once a week, but at most I'll only ever go as infrequently as once a month. It's really good, give it a try!

My daughter's business is nearby and she has catered food from this restaurant. I have tested the leftovers and handed to get how delicious everything is.

Today I was in the vicinity and decided to stop in for an early dinner. I selected the chili Verde burrito, and requested that the beans that would otherwise be on the inside of the burrito be served in a cup in the outside, instead.

Oh, my goodness! EVERYTHING I have tasted is fabulous.

The beans are cooked and seasoned to perfection. They gave me chips on the side, which were relished with a couple of their salsas from the bar. My favorite today is the chunky zesty salsa fresca. Having grown up with Pace Picante Sauce ( my uncle Dave Pace's company), I know salsa. This is among the best I have ever tasted. 😂

The chili Verde lived up to its reputation when the cashier forewarned me it's spicy! Love it! The chunks of tender pork were succulent and rich in flavor.

The staff are pleasant and helpful, and we shared a little smile. The restaurant is clean and organized. Superb!

On top of it all, my meal cost less than $9, and I have plenty to take home. I'll definitely be baaaaack!

Wow, great food , I felt like I was somewhere in Mexico eating, not your typical Mexican restaurant, the good looked great, and tasted even better, cooked when you order, I was shocked because is in an area that you don't expect to find that style of food, and to top it off taste great. Must have if you're in the area.

Staff is very nice, professional and quick. Food quality is also very good. Would recommend.

Coming home for vacation I had to stop at Sombreros! One of the best burritos sense I moved out of town. They have always had great food over the last 20 years

It's one of my favorite taco shops. I've eaten there for years. I did prefer the dining room the way it was prior to the renovation, which I think were done a couple of years ago. My coworker and I would sit in the back booth that was there and do paperwork while eating. I can't speak much about the menu since I have literally only ordered the California burrito in 15 years or so of going to Sombreros.

Love the bowls here. Online ordering is simple. Salsa selection is plentiful. Wish I lived a little closer.

Huge burrito. Inside the staff was friendly and the food came out extremely quickly. We came in around nine pm or ten pm maybe an hour before closing. The burrito was very fluffy and extremely filling. Was very satisfied with the price and the quality. My friends all got various items and nobody came away dissapointed. Bathrooms were clean and the salsa was very tasty. Burrito was not too wet like other places

Unfortunately, I moved away and there's no Sombrero's where I live in Southern Utah. I enjoy their food so when I'm in town I try to make a stop to eat there. Highly recommend them. Great food & I think reasonable prices too. The atmosphere is, just a Mexican fast food restaurant, but plenty of tables, neat and clean.

If you have a hankering for some great traditional Mexican food, this place will satisfy your craving! Amazing! I couldn’t down it fast enough

So good. Love that they have healthy, clean options. I got a plain chicken taco off the heart healthy menu. I'm gluten free and never get sick. Definitely recommend this place. Plus they recently did a remodel and it looks great!
