Nijiya Market San Mateo Store

Japanese store with groceries, snacks, house home items. I came here to buy frozen gyudon packets (beef with onion and sauce). They take 2 minutes to microwave and it’s really good over rice or curry or curry udon. They’re usually $8 at other places but it was $6 here!!!

Great little Japanese market. Come a little before noon for premade sushi. It doesn't arrive first thing in the morning. Fresh organic produce. Frozen staples and lots of snacks. It's a small store so don't expect everything to be here. Nice selection of meat to do shabu shabu with.

Nijiya Market is a small Japanese grocery store. The Japanese market offers groceries, alcohol, and kitchen wares. I happened to shop at the store during my visit to the shopping center. Nijiya Market reminded me of Daiso, Suruki Market, and a badly stocked dollar store. The store staff were very unfriendly but I didn't expect a super happy friendly staff in such a small worn store. I did purchase a couple of items and everything was over priced as expected. I give Nijiya 5 stars for surviving.

It's a great place to buy Japanese groceries and fresh produce. The store is super cold so take your jacket. This place is super clean. Friendly staffs. It has a huge parking lot . Please check the store hours before you go.

Go to grocery store for Japanese food. Bentos are always delicious! Nijiya brand products are good quality also.

Whenever we crave sashimi, we will go to this place, around Bay Area we have some like this place and they all have best sashimi but this place my husband work around here so he stopped by to get some, always have fresh salmon sashimi that we want, 1 time we stopped by late to see what they have discounts but nothing we want left so if you want some sashimi better go early ,

After flight delays from the East Coast, the sushi case was such a welcome sight for us! Scallops and hamachi were both off the hook.

Good selection of locally grown organic vegetables, in addition to ready to cook and prepared foods. Smaller footprint than the south bay stores, but offset by reduced foot traffic for a faster shipping experience.

Six foot distance markings are clearly set up outside the store, and safely roped off in the probate parking lot. As of 8/3, allowing limited numbers of shoppers in the store at a time, as well as shorter hours.

I love Nijiya! They have the freshest sushi fish of any local Asian market. They might not be as big as some of the other markets in the area but for fresh high quality fish you can't beat them! I only go here when I'm making sushi.

I love the ready cooked food selections! They're healthier compare to other nearby fast food stores and Safeway's. It's conveniently located in a shopping center in El Camino which is great! Customer Service wise, they're really nice, friendly and accommodating!

Local Japanese market with good sales on my favorite Japanese beers. The staff recognizes me and let's me know what's on sale. Very friendly in a tough industry. I like the easy parking and large store space versus the very cramped store in SF Japan Town. Produce section has a good variety and is very clean. Good stuff!!

GIANT GARLIC AND GIANT NEGI
This place has almost everything I was looking for. It's a nice little shop with so many gems and one of the widest drink varieties I've seen. Staff is helpful and they check you out super fast. I go here for my spices and sauces; their sushi section is also very tasty.

Great local Japanese market with all your needs! Back has q really nice pre prepared food section with bento boxes, sushi and karage! Sundays there is usually a 20% off select meat sale. Nice place to shop!

I go there for their food deli and can drinks. Excellent, I recommend everyone to go and try it. New food and new experience.

I enjoy shopping here -- so much goodies to have! I love their rice triangles. I remember when they were under $2, but it's understandable with inflation. They're still so good and fresh, and definitely still cheaper than in Hawaii! :P. I just like that they have so many choices and the prices are still reasonable for Japanese products- some are actually still cheaper than if I were to buy them at a non-Japanese market.

Food is fresh and was well stocked for NYE Osechi.
