Safeway

This is one of two Safeway stores within my Delivery area that mostly orders originate from. Not only is it very well stocked & clean(organized) 99% of the time but what I'd like to emphasize is the following;

*Even though I'm there for a Drdash or Uber Eats order, the employees DO NOT look down nor talk down like some other stores in the area, that right there should speak a lot for the"Customer Service" aspect, and how you as a customer will get the BEST service compared to any other store (grocery or not) you have ever shopped at. 100% my word!

*From the regular products on each aisle to some of the unique (not in every Safeway) bakery items of course the meat dept and even floral..... Some how always fully stocked, meaning your not going in for a specific item& hearing "Sorry We Are Out Of Stock".

Enough said?

Was great except I was given the wrong meal so I only got barely half of what I had payed for. However the staff was nice and they serve alcohol here which was an interesting idea for taco bell. The place was nice and well located. Even though they made a mistake is still go back.

Good deals and coupons on regular grocery items. Produce n meat kinda pricey

I won't bore you with a long review, but all I can say is that the safe way on El Camino and San Mateo hands down has the fastest turnaround when it comes to online orders and picking them up. I have never waited more than 3 minutes after hitting the I've arrived button to have my order brought out to me. Almost always exactly as I had requested. These people are friendly and do a tremendous job at helping the community around them with their grocery needs.

I this Safeway is one of my top favorite places to do my grocery shopping for few important reasons as follows:
1- Great variety of the REALLY good food ;
2- Staff pay attention to your needs ;
3- It is possibly the cleanest market I have been or right on the top. There are some other smallest individuals markets or even small chains that are also very clean but this one is consistent;
4- Now the cherry on the cake: it's open 24 hours.

My fav Safeway in the Bay. It has everything you will ever need from canned tuna to Krystal champagne. Has as a very decent wine section. The produce and bakery are huge and full of goodies. Parking can be challenging sometimes depending on the time and day that you show up. There's a whole fridge dedicated to kombucha. There are also auto lottery despensig machines if you want to make a quick investment 😉

This Safeway is consistent on having food available and in the same place each week. Compared to foster city Safeway this Safeway is a full grade above because it has a good attentive staff.

It was easy to find this store because it is on the main road that runs through San Mateo. The store is big in its expansion and so is the parking. You can only go in and out from one side of it. When I tried to hang a right to get out I couldn't do it only to find that there's a little hidden nook and I was like so impressed with that because if they let you sleep in the parking lot you just have to make sure you let the grocery store know that you are there after hours so that your car doesn't get impounded. That's quite the thing cuz I have never seen something like that before. The grocery store itself is actually very neat and clean and because of this pandemic it's extremely important and I appreciate the fact that they do keep a high standard.

The pickup order system is great! You order on the app and drive up there, park in a pickup spot and call them. They come out quickly and load everything in the car. Its very quick and efficient. However, due to COVID situation, some items go out of stock. It would be nice if they had a way to update that in the app.

This Safeway is the best Safeway of all in San Mateo. Why you may ask ? Because they have been the most friendly and have been consistently. I have shopped here for more than 15 years. Pam who works customer service is great, the bakery woman who has worked there for many years and she works at night. Bakery is the best and so is there Produce Dept. And, always plenty of parking. 😁

Love that this safeway opens 24hr during the pandemic!!! and it’s bigger than the one by my house. But they have to close all the cash registers from 1:00am to 1:15am. so keep that in mind!!!

Best time to shop is 1:15 - 2:30 in the afternoon. Otherwise it's a long line to wait in with only 2 checkout aisles. The self checkout is ok, but some of the people can't function well with technology and it can take forever. Safeway should hold tutorials for people in store away from the lines so the wait can go faster.

Pretty clean for the most part , usually alot of cashiers in front when I go and not to long of a wait or too many people in the afternoon. And that's with a baby.

I choose Safeway over other grocery stores. It's clean, the service is great and I trust the freshness of the food. Prices are affordable.

Excellent customer service ! A employee named Penny was beyond wonderful ! She was so kind and attentive to my requests and my special needs due to my disability ..She made shopping here at this Safeway a pleasure.. I'm usually don't frequent this store do to some other employee..Penny was very kind and professional.. Safeway could greatly benefit from this woman ! Other employees should take notes . Use her in a company training video for New¤t employees ! Maybe even a commercial to win back customers !

This Safeway is in a great location, also one of many, easy to see from El Camino. Hardly ever out of stock and there is plenty of self checkout if your not into waiting in a checkstand line.

One of the better Safeways on the peninsula for sure. My favorite Safeway, and it's 24hrs!

One of my favorite safeway. It's well organized & kept clean. Plenty of parking available with a vew of beautiful Fostercity lagoon & large park.

Great beer selection. Sandwiches good too
