Recently, I was informed that this physical therapy practice no longer accepts my insurance, which initially brought much disappointment. After speaking with this practice, I've come to appreciate the broader perspective. By focusing on the quality of care, the patient-centered approach, and the comprehensive services offered, I now realize that it isn't Orthopedic Physical Therapy at fault regarding this decision. It is the insurance company that failed to compensate them as they should be compensated.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy is the best place to get physical therapy in the greater Richmond area. I have been to them for several issues I had over the years, and they helped me tremendously. They listen to the client, do a thorough evaluation, and use their skills to address the issue. They do not just throw exercises at you. They give you exercises to do outside of appointments, but they spend the appointment actually working on you, helping to remediate the issue. I have nothing but respect for this practice.

Dr. Adler and her staff are amazing!!! I’d been coping with neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain stemming from a MVA, and was referred to Dr. Adler by my primary care doctor. After the first dry needling appointment, I experienced pain relief that I hadn’t felt in years. With each subsequent visit, my pain levels have decreased. Now after 5 visits, I feel like a different person. Dr. Adler is incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and so very personable. Like she really knows her stuff!!! I will never be able to thank her enough and am forever grateful to her. I strongly recommend her and her staff. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment. You will not regret it!

After YEARS of being in pain, YEARS of doctors telling me nothing was wrong and I needed to lose weight, COUNTLESS different types of Physical Therapies. Thousands of dollars were wasted on Doctors. I finally got a diagnosis of Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. My last step was going to a rheumatologist, he was the one who diagnosed me and told me to look for a Physical Therapist who specializes in hypermobility.

I got in with Kristin and she is AMAZING! She is a PT GOD! After my first session, I was already feeling better. I called my husband in tears because it worked for once.
I have been seeing her every week for the last two months and my hips are all but pain free, I still have some pain in my lower back but its not nearly as bad as it used to be.

I leave every session relieved. She works the muscles if they are tight, always checks in, and is fun to be around. She actually cares about YOU and how YOU are feeling.

Kristin saved my life, I am starting to be able to do more and more with no pain. I can not recommend her and this office enough.

The office staff is just as nice. They know me by name now and always make sure im taken care of.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy is the best. My physical therapist, Kristen Wright, has worked with me for many years now and continues to enhance my quality of life. She is a hands on therapist and works magic with all of my back issues or anything else structural that is out of wack. She is simply the best and I have had many before her. She is very skilled and knowledgeable about all things medical and keeps my body functioning at a very high level. Thanks to her, my quality of life continues to be good.

I was an intern at OPT this fall, and I loved it! These physical therapists truly care about their patients, and they don't focus just on the injured area, they look at the whole body to find the root cause of the problem. The work environment is very positive, and they leave their patients more than satisfied :)

Since COVID I have had issues with my right hip. It got really tight from playing lots of tennis, sitting and driving a lot. I started to limp and the pain intensified. The quality of my everyday life was affected. I tried stretching, PT and massages (not cheap). Nothing helped. My neighbor recommended Tracy for dry needling. I was desperate so decided to try it.
My eval showed that I actually had issues on my left side from a broken toe and wearing a boot ( in Covid time also) which I never t was the culprit. I was out of alignment.
After 3 dry needling sessions and PT sessions that will follow your needling appointments I was released!! I could finally bring my right knee to my chest without feeling this terrible pinch in my groin! I finally walked straight without the slight limp. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner and suffered for years. If you have muscle tightness you can’t permanently release with other interventions go to them!! It’s amazing what they can do.

I’m an ex-employee of OPT and had the pleasure of working alongside the therapists here which held the most knowledge and skills of any other PT office I have experienced (I’ve seen several other PTs for personal treatment). They are different from your typical PT appts in every good way possible as they work one-on-one with their patients using their hands to feel on/around your chief complaint followed by descriptive answers to why you may be in pain and explanations to why the specific exercises prescribed will work for you. They also generously use manual therapy to help relieve trigger points which I myself have felt quick relief after receiving. Several therapists specialize in dry needling as well, which many many patients have shared with me help them religiously. THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF!! I will always recommend them for anyone I know seeking a PT :))

I have had excellent care at OPT. Mary Fran Weber, PT, DPT, has helped me regain mobility and flexibility, and the hip pain is almost completely gone. She has guided me back to a daily exercise routine that is safe and will continue to help me build strength and confidence with freedom of movement. Everyone I have met who works at OPT is professional, kind, caring and enthusiastic about their work.

Due to lower back and hip pain, at 70 years of age I had given up on power walking and staying active. I had spent years seeing multiple chiropractors, physical therapists and orthopedic physicians. Nothing helped. Then I met Dr. Charles Brooks Steadman. He addressed my issues on multiple levels. He first spent weeks getting those tight, immobile muscles to release and some stretching methods. But then we got into the “meat” of the therapy with the strengthening exercises. He taught me that stretching was not enough. I had to strengthen the muscles too. Brooks taught me how to power walk with better form so I would not irritate those muscles. He taught me so much and he fixed me. My walks are powerful and painless. I’m getting stronger and I’m back to my active life. Brooks is brilliant and I highly recommend him! He is a rare find in the medical community.

I had the best experience getting dry needling done by Tracey! After one session, I had 85% more mobility in my shoulder than when I walked into my appointment. It was more efficient and effective than any other treatment I have tried. Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend Kristen Hicks at Orthopedic Physical Therapy practice. My experience has been very positive and productive.
Over the years, I have had many orthopedic injuries and surgeries requiring physical therapy. This is the first PT office where I have left an appointment in less pain.
I have seen several therapists at Orthopedic Physical Therapy for different reasons and all have been wonderful, but my experience has been primarily with Kristen.
Kristen is kind and patient and also very knowledgeable and skilled with hypermobile patients. She uses an individualized approach that utilizes different modalities.
Over a year ago, I started seeing her for a frozen shoulder and discovered she could help me with my many other orthopedic issues, helping me avoid pain medications and more surgeries. Because of her, I am now able to sit without pain in my back and I have started gardening again. Using manual therapy, Kristen has helped me not only with acute and chronic pain and injuries, but has also helped me improve my body mechanics which has greatly reduced my chronic pain.
Thank you Kristen for making my life better!

This is the best physical therapy practice I have been referred to as a patient. Everyone in the office is considerate, knowledgeable and pleasant. After my initial evaluation with Brooks Steadman, I knew his expertise, methods and demeanor were perfect for me. I have been his patient for a while and am grateful for the therapy, reeducation and ongoing support he has provided me. I have recommended Brooks, as well as this practice, to several people and will continue to do so.

"20 years younger!" was my response when Tracey asked how I felt when I got up from the table after her last round of needles. I started the session feeling like my body was twisted up. Good thing was Tracey could see it too. I've had years of dysfunction as a fallout from multiple surgeries and years of associated body compensation. I started seeing her over a year ago and have been making improvements since. I love how she listens and pays attention to how my body is moving, then thoughtfully dry needles what is restricted, versus just one body part or area. This last appointment was for dysfunction from my recent travels. Driving was difficult and pulled as well as walking up and down stairs. I was feeling much older than my actual age. Thankful is an understatement. It's amazing when your body moves as it should without restriction and pain. I would be happy to just feel my current age, but also great to be able to feel a couple years younger. Tracey's treatments give me hope that better days are possible.

Orthopedic Physical Therapyhas been amazing. I started because of Fibromyalgia and Migraines and found relief. Unfortunately I suffered a stroke, but I was already an established patient and they could modify my therapy and I added vestibular pt. I have been fortunate to see 3 therapists. They are all phenomenal and I am grateful for the help they have provided me. Thanks!

I have seen several therapists at Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Inc., and they have all been extremely knowledgeable and kind. I mostly see Brooks Steadman, whose expertise I completely trust in. He is also very kind and compassionate, which is so important when dealing with chronic issues. I would recommend Brooks and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Inc. to anyone needing physical therapy!

We adore OPT! Three generations of our family are patients and all of us couldn’t be happier! From the youngest who’s says Becca made his feet stop hurting after 5 years to the octogenarian who is staying strong and limber to my own experience with massive improvements in my mobility. No other PT has been able to help me in nearly 10 years and numerous practices.
Ortho PT is our Happy Place!

Great group. Use of both MET techniques and dry needling solved a lower back issue that had plagued me for years. Chiropractors had failed, but years later I am still pain free from a muscular problem correctly diagnosed and treated by Kristen. Sending anyone who ask for a referral to this practice.

Kristin is changing my whole life. I’ve been to three other physical therapists who just made the problems worse. Kristin understands ehlers danlos syndrome, she understands how hyper-mobile people work and she can help ease your pain if you do your exercises. Going here changed my life, I can now work again, walk again, run again and move in ways I didn’t think were possible anymore. I’ll tell everyone I know to go here! ❤

Best physical therapist group in the country. I was very fortunate to find Kristen Wright Hicks and Liddy Morris to help me with my pelvic pain 11 years ago. Kristen stuck with me through a very serious car accident four years ago which made the situation much worse with neck and cranial problems. Kristen searched high and low for a doctor to help me. She found one in the entire country. Kristen and the staff at Opt are working with another doctor to get me back on my feet. Today was the first time in four years I have able to walk around in my pool. Next years laps. As Kirsten says, " never give up." They really do care and treat their patients with respect. Movement is life. Now I have part of mine back. Rest soon to follow. Thanks OPT for putting up with me for 11 years.
