Residence Inn by Marriott Winston-Salem Hanes Mall

We stayed here for 36 days while my husband was undergoing cancer treatment. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning and maintenance folks, were friendly, helpful and accommodating...always with a big smile. I especially want to recognize and thank the kitchen staff, Gary and Ashley. During our stay, due to low immune system, my husband had to stay in the room, so every morning I would come down and get his breakfast. These two, Gary and Ashley, always smiled, said good morning and made sure that I was able to get my husband a high protein, delicious breakfast. These two are amazing, helpful and welcoming. They should be commended for the thoughtful and courteous work they do. Thank you all for treating us like family.

Ideally located near many stores and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Absolutely my hotel of choice when traveling to this area!

This is a perfect location. Gary in breakfast is amazing. He recognized me from one encounter. I love this location it is a home away from home and I will definitely come back.

Rooms are clean and smell great. Service is very friendly and you have many places you can just walk to for food. Wings, sushi, ramen, japanese, burgers, etc. The full kitchen makes everything better because you can cook if you are trying to save some money or in my case if you travel alot and are tired of eating out. Will definitely book here again.

The staff is the best in the state! Top-notch facilities, cleanliness, professionalism, and treated with nothing but smiles (and hugs).

I stayed here for a couple nights on a business trip. The hotel was quiet and the staff was friendly. Charisma (front desk associate) was a pleasure. The room was very modern with a stovetop, stainless steel microwave, large fridge, dishwasher, smart TV, glass dishes & cups/mugs, silverware, real coffee maker & grounds (NOT Keurig)... the whole works. The pillows were very firm but soft; comfortable bed. I didn't have any issues with the water temperature like other reviews here. No bugs whatsoever (I always check before anything else). Clean room in general. Free breakfast. I'd recommend staying here!

The only problems were no hot water in the shower and a little bit of mold and an HVAC system that sounded like a mack truck idling. It literally shook the desk - felt like a tiny earthquake - I could not use it to read. Probably a failing unit in that room. But very quiet at night.

Room was a good size and clean, view was nothing to write home about but nice place to stay.

Rooms were very spacious ,have almost a full kitchen in room and living room area.

I was very happy that I was able to check in early, do to the fact we had landed sooner then expected. Upon checking in the staff was extremely friendly and offered information on things to do in the area. The room to my surprise looked better than the pic online. I would definitely stay again and this hotel should have more then 3 stars in the reviews. The continental breakfast was great better then most hotels I've stayed in. There are a number of places to eat at as well as shopping around this location. This is a well developed area so its family friendly.

Great!! I stayed here 10+ weeks for business and was pleasantly happy every time. The studio King suite came in handy, adequate space, great bathroom, comfortable bed and kitchen was a huge bonus. Since I was traveling for business so the 'comforts' of home mean a lot, including friendly faces. Karizma and all of the front desk staff made it welcoming. I started having healthy pre-packaged meals to make life easier. Karizma had left a note every Tuesday for the daytime crew to let me know when they arrived so I could get them refrigerated. She went above and beyond when I checked in, remembering my preference. Top floor away from elevator on the back side so the sun would illuminate my room in the morning. It was so thoughtful she remembered it :) The outside patio was nice and sitting by the pool with a magazine was enjoyable. It is centrally located to all restaurants, mall, Target, and Walmart. I am very grateful I was able to have a comfortable extended stay!!

My family stayed here because my sister had an outpatient surgery and we wanted to be close to the hospital. The room was wonderful and spacious and I enjoyed using the oven. Thank you so much to all you ladies that made our stay enjoyable.

The room was amazing. For the price, I had expected a standard hotel room with a king size bed and a television. But, the room resembled a small apartment! It even had a dishwasher and dishes. My only complaint is the attitude of the front desk staff. The early morning shift was great, but the afternoon and evening shift all had bad attitudes and would be obviously distraught with any amount of work. Nonetheless, I will definitely come back.

Nikia (sp?) at the front desk was wonderful! We stopped on our way through town for a quick overnight and she was wonderful checking us in late at night and we saw her again in the morning, still with a smile on her face and making sure all the guests were well taken care of. Thankful for the great customer service and nice accommodations.

Perfect modern apartment style hotel with separate rooms for our new baby and his pack and play. We were able to let him sleep soundly while we watched tv in the bedroom. This style of hotel will quickly become the new standard for new parents hesitant to travel with their young ones. Breakfast was very good and location made for easy access to restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Stayed here one night for a wedding and actually wish we had time to stay a bit longer (we checked in late afternoon and had to check out early the next morning). The room was really nice, especially for the price. We had a mini-kitchen with a sink, small dishwasher, and full-size fridge. The TV had hulu/other streaming options. The continental breakfast was pretty standard but always nice to have that included. Also, I found myself without some needed toiletries and the woman working at the front was really nice and gave me some. We don't live very far away and we're already planning a weekend trip to go back and will stay here.

Very high quality rooms and front desk service. Complementarity breakfast was very good. Rooms were very modern and had a full kitchen and we're every clean. Great place over all. Exactly what one would expect from Marriott.
