Hokkaido Hibachi Grill & Sushi

The food was great. The staff was great. The atmosphere was great. Our chef was super funny and interacted with my kids perfectly. He gave everyone ample food, and it tasted perfect. Overall, it is definitely a great place to eat.

I love love love this place . The food is always good and the sour apple Martinis are to die for!!!!! The cook even spent 30 mins telling me where he got his knives from and how he sharpens them! Didn’t care to know but super sweet. Please go!!! Enjoy folks! :)

We had such a wonderful dinner with our family for our daughter’s 10th birthday. Everyone went out of their way to make her feel special and provide excellent service. Our food and dessert was delicious!

The GOAT, there ain't another hibachi place like it. Never had a bad experience here. Food's great, chefs are fun, all around amazing restaurant. I always go here when good things happen in my life as a reward. Sure dinner's very pricy but it won't kill you to show up before 2 to enjoy a good hibachi lunch.

Always have a good experience here. The chefs show their experience on the grill and our food is delivered with an excellent display of talent and humor. The kids love coming here because the chefs interact with them the whole time. Our food has always been excellent, doesn't matter if it is hibachi or sushi. If in Madison, stop by for a meal, you will be happy that you found this little gem.

We always have a good experience with the food and service at Hokkaido. We usually eat at the hibachi table or order takeout, but sometimes we eat sushi, and everything we have had has been good. I prefer to eat my meal hot, straight from the heat, and I like that this is about as close as you can get.

In our experience, the employees are friendly and our orders are correct. In some of the Japanese hibachi restaurants we have visited, we find they don't check our drinks very often, and we run dry and have to get their attention to get more to drink. Hokkaido gets this right.

Hibachi food is, in general, more expensive, but unless you have a really big appetite, there is enough food here per person to take home another meal from the leftovers.

My kids love the fried rice with shrimp or steak or chicken, and they are generous with the meat.

Great food, great service! They will allow you to bring your own wine and just charge a small cork fee. Must try if you like sushi and wine!

My fiance and I go here atleast once a week. Super friendly staff, better prices and better quality than half the hibachi places in town. The chefs create a fun dining atmosphere that always has me laughing.

Been for sushi lunch and the hibachi grill as well. Fresh fish and fast service make for an great lunchtime date. Hibachi good entertainment and good portions also. Overall very please with each visit. Would return and do recommend.

TLDR: An awesome place for cheap sushi. Their habachi is great but the real highlight of this place is the lunch special. The lunch special costs 12 dollars and is especially great since you get 2 non special rolls, a soup, and a salad. Their ginger dressing that they put on the salads is great and their spicy tuna roll is one of the best around, even than some of the higher end places like Asahi and Nagoya. Most of their non special rolls are very reasonably sized, and they dont pad the sushi with extra rice like i've seen other places do. Another highlight would be their Kani salad, which has cucumber and snow crab. Great for people that love cucumber. Overall nice staff and good tasting, good priced food.

The texture and the seasoning ita perfect. The chef was funny and everyone in table was having fun and had a good experience specially the kids loving the show.

My wife and I order 4 big rolls come with 8 pieces each, it totally fed us full. The sushi is really good. I love it. The big roll normally round 8-12 dollars. Not bad.

This was a great Japanese experience. My family of 5 came here and 3 of us shared at the Hibachi table, it was still so much food that we took home 3 to go boxes. Their sushi was pretty great, too!
