This cemetery, next to but technically not part of the Pecan Grove Cemetery, has been informally named/referred to as the “Mexican cemetery” for more than 100 years, according to obituaries dating back to the early 1900s. The majority of the people buried here were farmers, cotton-pickers, and railroad workers in the 1900s who helped build McKinney.
Fortunately there have recently been efforts by local citizens to clean up and maintain the cemetery.
