A Must-Do when you visit Sylva. Loads of books to search thru with tons of bargains to be had and treasures to be discovered. The staff's professionalism and kindness are only matched by their enthusiasm. It is obvious that they love books, as well as their sweet town. Your purchase also goes to support the local library. What's not to like?!

Great used bookshop. Well organized. Friendly staff. We found a stack of books we couldn’t leave without. Much cheaper than used bookstore prices, slightly higher prices than other library bookstores we’ve been to. Worth checking out.

I’ve shopped this store for home school and personal books for many years. They volunteer staff are excellent. They have even donated books to the annual homeschooling sale at times! They carry a huge variety and take time to curate the selection. I have found some incredible deals here over the years. If you love books, check it out!
Pro tip- they have a Facebook group you can join to see what’s “new and exciting “ if you want to shop from home. Be local! You’ll have to pick it up!!

I shop in this bookstore nearly every week. The all volunteer staff us helpful and friendly. The prices are so super fair and all the money raised supports our local library. In so many this is one of our favorite places to shop. This is exactly what Sylva is about - taking care of each other and our community. Thanks Friends of the Library Used Bookstore, Sue, and all the amazing volunteers!!

I absolutely love this bookstore and everyone who volunteers his/her time to make it such a great place to visit. I have purchased books from the store for many years and my kids and I have always had wonderful experiences when we visit the store. Thank you for all you do for our community.

Excellent used bookstore run by wonderful and knowledgeable Friends of the Library volunteers. The prices are great and the book selection is very good and always changing. One of my favorite used bookstores in the region.

Danielle Griffin, it is indeed a shame that your family of seven chose to ignore the clearly posted rules of the Bookstore. It is even more of a shame if your children were with you that you showed them how to disrespect the reasonable rules meant to protect all of us, including your family. Sadly, it is your loss that you've chosen not to take advantage of their incredible inventory and willingness to assist you in securing great books for homeschooling.

Hopefully, you'll reconsider and recognize that the staff are only interested in serving the community well and have shown their generosity to the community time and time again.

I love the bookstore and their staff.

Such a unique selection of books and such reasonable prices! Newer books, older book. Plus the staff is super kind and helpful! So many genres! There's something for everyone, and you could find some great unique gifts here! Plus the sales benefit the local library! They have regular sales and deals on books too! You can also donate books! Must visit if in Downtown Sylva or surrounding!

Love this bookstore run entirely by volunteers! I appreciate that they enforce masks in the bookstore so that they can stay open and safe for the VOLUNTEERS who run the store as well as the community. Keep up the good work!

Always a lovely, kind, and safe place to spend an hour. I always know that I'll find just the perfect book I didn't know I needed. Our little town is lucky, indeed, to have a bookstore like the FoL bookstore on our main street.

Without a doubt, the best used bookstore in all of Western North Carolina. My favorite way to spend an afternoon. Very covid-safe, and very compassionate staff. I buy almost all of my books here. No better people, and no better store!!!!

Well organized.
Big Selection.
Volunteers are friendly and helpful.

They allowed us to bring our dog inside from the heat. One of us stayed by the door with Lulu while the other shopped. (Note: Lulu was in a pet scroller
