Nice trail, especially for a fall or winter hike. You can see the mountains through the trees most of the time. This is also popular with mountain bikers, but everyone we came across was polite and friendly

The spot to park for shredding North Mills. The climb back to the car sucks but my E-Bike makes it bearable. Usually there are a good amount of people coming and going so the mountain meth heads don't have time to smash out your windows looking for loose change.

Parking for Trace Ridge Trail in Pisgah National Forest. Trail down leads to Yellow Gap Road or Back to Wash Creek Road. Trail up goes to Blue Ridge Parkway and crosses Trace Ridge Trail. White Gravel Road leads to small lake.

Beautiful area. The trail head has plenty of parking, but part of the trail was over grown when I was there. Ties into mills river trail at the river and makes a nice loop for hiking.

Access to hiking and biking trails and the parking lot seemed to be well maintained. A bit crowded on the weekends as everything else in the area is.
