Howard Station

First time eating there with my Son and his Girlfriend. Maggie our server was awesome ask her what was good she said the ribs was her favorite. I asked about wings she said that was a favorite of hers to. So I decided to go for both. Wow both were awesome but the Jerk wings was to die for. Will be back for more ask for Maggie great server.

Favorite spot for BBQ in town. Their tacos on taco Tuesday are also really good. Would come here often with friends when I went to school here.

Such an awesome place with a great atmosphere, stopped in for a quick bite after walking downtown for the day. The food was hot and fresh,and I was lucky enough to get a piece of brisket straight out of the smoker. I would highly recommend the cheese curds they are the perfect amount of spice. 5 stars all day!

When visiting Boone, NC, Jenni and I found the absolutely BEST BBQ we had ever eaten- it was at Howard Station.
Howard Station is on Howard Street, which sits right between King and Rivers Street. We went after 5, so we were able to park just across from the restaurant, however it is an easy walk if you have to park on King or in one of the public parking areas.
I loved the urban vibe of the outside of Howard Station, but that was nothing to how chic and urban the inside is. They have a main level dining, which is where the bar is located. They also have a lower level seating, which is really cool, because they have decorated it with pictures of the station from the past. Then there is the highly sought after roof top terrace- which has amazing views of Appalachian State College, downtown Boone, and the mountains. Any place you chose to sit will be fabulous! The entire place is filled with the fragrant aroma of the smoking BBQ and the cool, southern hospitality that Chelsea and Cody have showered their restaurant with.
We started our meal with the fried green beans- yummy!! Chelsea also brought us a flight of their homemade sauces to try. Each sauce was unique and tantalizing to the tastebuds. It is hard to say which was my absolute favorite, because I really enjoyed them all. However, if I had pick just one it would be the Blueberry Chipotle. Jenni's top pick was the Sweet and Spicy. She says as soon as they start bottling it she has to have a case. For our entrees we had the Signature Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Off the Rail Ribs- we shared so we could enjoy two different meats. The Pulled Pork Sandwich was crazy good!! The bun was warm and soft and seemed to melt right into the pork when you bit into it. The smoke was delicate in flavor, which for me was perfect. The ribs pulled off of the bone perfectly. Again the smoke flavor was delicate and the meat was so tender. For our sides we had the funky fries, the hushpuppies (which go perfect with the Blueberry Chipotle sauce), and the Smoked Mac & Cheese (perfect blend of smoke flavor and creamy cheese). It was a perfect tasting meal. But, of course we did have to try dessert. Chelsea brought us out something she created- a smoked blueberry cobbler. OMG!!! It was delicious!! I have to tell you again, that everything we ate was absolutely incredible.
We enjoyed everything about our dining experience at Howard Station. If you love BBQ- then you must make it a priority to go to Howard Station. If you think you don't like BBQ, then you have to go to Howard Station and try it, because you will decide that you love it!!

A must place for Ribs! Affordable, great service and nice atmosphere overall.

This was our first visit to Howard Street (thought we are often in Boone). We peaked in the windows early and a nice young man came to the door and invited us back when they opened at noon. The food was delicious (ribs for hubby; salad with chicken for me) and the drinks were fun - they had a Pride week special for silly colored adult beverages. We enjoyed them :). The service was friendly and attentive. We ate on the rooftop and enjoyed views of the mountains and a cool Boone breeze. We will be back!

Howard Station is the absolute BEST on all accounts! The smoked Mac and cheese, the Ribs and Wings are to die for. Exceptional service and Chelsea the owner is the best! Real, friendly, and professional! I strongly recommend it this BBQ Joint and will definitely be back every time we're in Boone! Thanks Howard Station for a great experience!

Well it is definitely a watering hole for college kids but the staff is friendly and helpful. The drink menu is nice with some local beer. The food is pretty good to be from a bar. The bbq chicken plate is really good and tasty with the Appalachian sauce. The smoked macaroni and cheese is slap your mama good. Seriously, if I could have found my mama I would have slapped her right then and there. If it wasn’t such a long drive back to Alabama, I would order a pan of it to go. The fried green beans were good as well. You should definitely try it if only for the Mac and cheese.

The best experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We love a small family business and we had the absolute pleasure to meet the husband & wife of Howard Station. My boyfriend is OBSESSED with wings & BBQ & reviews wings everywhere we go. He could not believe how amazing the wings were. He even rated them on 9.9 when we filmed his first reaction. Not only is the food & drinks amazing, but the owners are ONE. OF. A. KIND. The heart of this business is truly inspiring to watch these two talk about their business. WE WILL 100% BE BACK AND WILL BE TELLING EVERYONE WE KNOW!

We were here for the first time opening night November 16th, 2019. I had the same pork bbq plate (with the blueberry bbq sauce, fried green beans and Mac and cheese) as I had on that same night as this evening. The great thing is they have kept it the same. It is sooo choice! A great delight!

Ordered through DoorDash and was missing a sauce. I called the store and one of the owners offered to personally deliver it to my apartment free of charge. Went above and beyond for such a minor incident. Will be ordering again soon!

We knew we wanted BBQ for our dinner at our wedding and it was between Howard Station and another BBQ place. Howard Station won and they won on so many levels!!
Their food is so fresh and delicious!
Deja, the catering manager, was such a delight to work with!! She was so responsive, kind, and patient with all my questions throughout the whole wedding planning process.
The variety on their catering menu was perfect and their food was reasonably priced. They don’t nickel and dime you and their food is worth every penny!
And best of all, when we went to taste test the food and we asked to speak to someone about catering, the server let us know the owner was in the back cooking and would love to talk with us. That was something we hadn’t seen before and it was so nice to get to speak to the owner about our wish to have them cater our wedding day!
The owners are the sweetest couple, who got married a year ago at the same venue we got married at, Appalachian View! So they had a special place in our hearts from the moment we met them and knew that they were the perfect fit for our wedding.

Ok. That was some of the best brisket and ribs I’ve ever had. Seriously good food and portions at a reasonable price. Fried okra was great also. We will be back again soon.

This was the best BBQ sandwich, Mac and Cheese, Fries, and BBQ sauce I have had in years!!!! If you are on king street and want some great and filling food PLEASE stop by Howard Station!!!

Delicious food, better than Allen and Sons. Get the Mac and cheese with grilled chicken and hushpuppies! Almost ordered more after getting takeout the first time. Can't wait to make it my new regular!

Oh, my! These could very well be the best wings in town and they are on special on Thursdays. Plan on trying to tacos on our next visit!

Really nice spot. Not the very best pulled pork I've ever had but still VERY good and priced pretty low. Hard to find a 10 dollar lunch these days. I'd recommend the smoked Mac and cheese as a side, it's extremely good and legitimately smoky. Atmosphere is nice, service was very friendly and attentive. Everyone seemed actually pretty happy to be there.

Popped in here for a bite with no expectations and left with a new favorite spot. Not only is the food amazing but we had the pleasure of meeting the owners who are equally as amazing. Great food, great atmosphere and great ownership. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

All around incredible staff. Unbelievably friendly throughout the entire meal. If you get Hannah as waitress you’re lucky she absolutely crushes customer service! Please make your Boone trip awesome!
