David rocks!
I am not particularly handy, so when I need guidance, I go to Johnnie Chuokes. Earlier today I went to David for a solution for a plumbing problem. He made it easy for me to understand and to get it done. As a "not so handy man", the level of knowledge & help available here is so welcome.

David, if you read this, you saved me hundreds of dollars today. No leaks, either.

I needed glass cut for a frame that was 36x16 today and I had it cut plus all the tools to rehang the frame in a single visit. The Army vet who helped me was extremely knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this place and will be back, way better than the big department store experience.

I stopped in Johnny Chucke's because the major suppliers for home repair in the area traditionaly do not carry something that is still functional in an older house.

In this case, I have a friend whose ceiling fan needed a 4 wire 3 speed fan switch replaced. When I entered the store, I was helped by personnel in the store. I asked where I could find the ceiling fan parts and was directed to an aisle.

When I could when I couldn't find what I was looking for, because it looked out of stock, they were very helpful in looking up. They saw the item was out of stock and advised that it was on reorder and would be back in stock by Tuesday afternoon.

I can't say enough about the store personnel, the people, and how they help their customers out in a personal, professional, and courteous manner.

I frequent this store occasionally and encourage you to visit not only whenever you have a difficult item that you need to find but an everyday item. They always seem to have it.

I hope your experiences are as good as mine when you visit the store.

I had no idea this place existed but within a minute of walking in I was convinced San Antonio absolutely needs this place around.

They're the only people in town that carry the gallon container of Blue Bear Mastic Remover. Not only that but the woman who greeted me as I walked in knew not only what it was I was looking for but also what to use as a degreaser in the place of the one recommended on the bottle.

AND their price was better than Amazon by quite a bit! Additionally they have products I've never seen in other hardware stores. This place was absolutely great.

Very warm, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable staff. They even sell paint. On staff they have a licensed plumber and one guy who used to work as an electrician. I even found brackets for automotive applications. Saved me money on gas going here instead of going far away to the nearest big brand store. Been going here for over a decade. Vast vast majority of the time I have had good to great experiences consistently. Best to give a fair evaluation of this place.

Always a great store! You always have what I need and the people to tell me exactly what to do to replace for fix the problem I have!

It's great to go to a hardware store and get help from the most friendly and knowledgeable people. Good luck finding help at The Big Named place..

This place is a hidden gem! It’s a local hardware store that has most of what you needs: nails, screws, tools - all the usual. But if you need a birthday gift or a snack? They sell candles, cute knickknacks, a couple pairs of shoes, clothing AND great Warmies for the kids and other kid stuff, too! Win/win. Very nice people.

Went for plumbing stuff today and got a nice "Made in Italy" wine bottle opener. I LOVE my neighborhood Johnnie Chuoke's hardware & GOODY store. They have Farmhouse Fresh Skin Care (try it, you will be glad you did), Tyler Candles, Inis, & everything. You might go for the hardware, paint, repair stuff, but I guarantee you will find so much more. Gifts for your friends & even better: GIFTS FOR YOU!!

Beautifully organized store! So helpful those that work there! Great spot to support a smaller home and hardware store! They have lots of options and unexpected things!

You know I lived near this store for over 5 years and never paid any attention to it. But, I could have really used this store over the years instead of going to Home Depot or Lowes.

This store has almost everything you'd need for repairs around the house and at affordable prices, very comparable to the big box stores or even online. I now come here all the time if I need something and I've yet to not find what I needed. However I can't remember if I saw any power tools inside so don't expect a big selection of those, but they have just about everything else.

Oh and if you live in the many apartments near here and your landlord is giving you trouble replacing that weirdly sized AC filter no store carries. This place probably has your size and they have the EZflow fiberglass filters that most apartments use anyways. (At the very back of the store)

Seriously, if you need hardware, give this place a chance, you'll be happy you did.

Always a store that is good to visit. The staff is helpful, professional, and polite. The stuff inside is quality oriented. I hope you find what your looking for, I always do or get an idea on how to fix something around the house.

OMG.... Trudi and Scott saved me during the Christmas freeze and thaw. Trudi talked me through draining my pipes and turning the water off at the street. And today (I waited until it was 60+ degrees) Scott talked me through the steps on turning my water back on. Survived the freeze without any stress. I've be following Johnnie Chuoke for many many years in his columns in our local Observer newspaper. I met them at our local home improvement shows (Humble civic center), and I visited their store in San Antonio. Love love love them.

Trudy, Julie and the rest of the gift shop staff are so kind, they make you feel like family. Everything is beautifully decorated and the items they sell are unique and boutique style gifts. If you're in the area, it's a must, just seeing what they have and meeting the ladies will make it worth your time.

This is a great hardware store. You'll be surprised at all the hardware, paint, and variety of home items they carry. You'll also love the great prices.

Because it's right around the corner, and it has a little bit of everything there it's very convenient. From candles to power tools, electrical, to gardening, to plumbing and lots of bolts and screws.
