We live in the area and came in for dinner. We really enjoyed our food but some of the chips were a little stale and the salsa portion was very small. The enchiladas and churros were excellent and we’ll be back!

What a delightful restaurant! Pictured is the cauliflower Bunuelos de Coliflor, after we had already dug in. This sweet spot is owned and operated by the family who are attentive and incredibly personable. The salsa is some of the best in town. Do yourself a favor and try this place out! The soup of the day was cream of mushroom with poblano and was delicious.

The moles blew me away. Incredible Oaxacan dishes here. The staff was amazing and it seemed like they knew all the customers. If I lived in Austin, I would frequent Hecho en Mexico.

Visiting Austin for the first time in decades, my friends took me here for dinner. I had the mole platter with three enchiladas each with a different filling and style of mole. The cuisine is authentic Mexican with excellent flavors. I also enjoyed a Margarita on ice and excellent guacamole. There often is live music. On this night it was an acoustic duo singing Mexican folk songs. I definitely would eat here again.

This joint deserves every star it has....Service was excellent....as soon as the salsa hit the table, we knew it was going to be a great visit. Everything we had was delicious and are planning a return trip to try some different menu items. Very good find!

I had the pleasure of attending one of their super popular Tequila Dinners. The food was amazing and the Tequila featured was great. Monica and Mario are masters of their craft!

We ate chile en nogada and camarones adobadas with the homemade corn tortillas they were simply to die for.

Something of a hidden gem, great drink selection along with interior and classic Mexican dishes. Mole trio was delicious, as was the adobado sauce. Gauc a bit small but tasty if add carnitas. Try it out!

If you love mole you have to try the mole trio here! It came with three enchiladas each with a different mole and protein pairing. It was so fun trying the different flavors! We also had the ceviche, taquitos, and a cocktail called El Vampiro. I'd recommend it all! You don't need a reservation and parking is easy. Check it out!

This place was definitely hop in when we arrived. We got a seat and we're promptly served chips and salsa. The chips were very thin which I love. And the salsa was quite different than a typical salsa that you find in a Mexican restaurant. It was thin and spicy.
We chose to split a dish of enchiladas with three sauces. It was very thoughtful of the server to actually split the dish and serve us each our own plate. Everything had excellent flavor the cream sauce in the middle was so good I wanted more but after tasting both the rojo and the verde I couldn't decide what I liked more I was very happy with our selection.

Authentic interior Mexican fare. The fresh ceviche is my favorite dish. Very impressive collection of Tequilas.

I'm just upset we've been in the neighborhood and waited this long to try it. Not your traditional "Americanized" Mexican restaurant. They focus on Central American dishes. I had the roast pork wrapped in banana leaf. OMG! It was so dang tender. Margaritas were perfect. Service was great!

If you’re a Mexican tourist, Mexican US resident, Mexican US citizen… anything related to a Mexican person, then you must come here. As of today, during all my US travels, this is the food that is closest to a Mexican soil flavor. I was here only for breakfast but I can tell the all day long menu is delicious.

Good food, good people… attended by real Mexican people with real roots in our country (MEXICO of course). So 5 stars for the delicious memory (at least the closest) of my country. Cheers.

The shrimp diabla is not for the faint of heart. It was so good we ordered some to go. But prepare for mouth burning deliciousness!!

The food was very good, the staff was very courteous. The place is on the smaller side, with common walls to other businesses. It would be a fantastic place if it stood alone with more windows. But I still rate it on the great side.

Got the breakfast tacos with egg, cheese, and bacon and added potatoes. Delicious tacos and delicious salsa. Will definitely return!

This place was surprisingly good. It seemed pretty "upscale" for the type of Mexican food places I typically visit, but this was also reflected on their food. I had the pork. It was so good. A little pricy, but this is in accordance to the quality of the food. Totally worth the extra $$$. Planning to make this a monthly stop for me.
