I was very pleasantly surprised at how amazing this place was today! SO much fun and such a well thought out venue for the kids and the whole family. I haven’t been here before, even though it’s 40 minutes from my house, but we’ll be back! We did the big train and the little train as well as saw Santa and visited the gift shop.

Went for the Pumpkin Junction with my adult daughter. After a beautiful train ride, there were lots of games for the littles, a food truck and snack vendors for all, and a wine tasting from the local winery for the adults. We also enjoyed a hayride through the woods complete with ghosts and pumpkins!

We did the North Pole Express ride and it was really fun! My 6 year old loves it and I had a good time as well! Really cool experience!!

Wonderful experience, train ride was a hit with 4y/o. Santa was well put together and all of the staff was pleasant and caring. There's a small staging area and a few items for the kids to be occupied while waiting. Food truck was expensive and mediocre quality at best, so eat before or after.

Valentine's Train ride, their winery where tables were all ready for us with wine glasses, cheeses, chocolates, and roses. Our guide had what wines we were trying, and the volunteers were putting the wine in our glasses as we were being told the name, what it paired well with, talked about the flavors we might taste in it. This continued all the way through our guide. It was so much fun! We were invited to go with some friends and we were so glad that we gave it a try.

We had a wonderful time on the North Pole Express train adventure. I'm not sure who had more fun, the adults or the kids in our group!

We loved this experience! The train museum was fun to walk through and read and see everything they had. The ride itself was really nice. The volunteers that run it are super friendly and very knowledgeable. Definitely buy tickets ahead of time.

A wonderful experience and well done! We enjoyed the train ride with Santa and were able to sit in the first class cabins. They treated us like royalty and spent plenty of time with the children making sure each were able to say everything they wanted to say and get the pictures they wanted to get. It was an amazing experience and will definitely make this a yearly thing!

Rode the North Pole E petition with my grandson's preschool group. It was a gentle, friendly ride, and the children had a wonderful time.

Kiddo and I had a great day! Make sure you take the open car train ride because it is the best part of the trip! The volunteers running everything were all very nice and I lived chatting with them.

We had a great time at the Wild West Day! Riding the train was fun, regardless, but the theatrics really added to the experience. Fun for all ages!

The Shelby County Historical Society organized a train ride at the Heart of Dixie railroad for our quarterly meeting. It was so much fun! Everyone at Heart of Dixie was so friendly and eager to share their knowledge. We rode inside a coach car and then outside on the return trip. There's no experience quite like a train ride and this is the perfect place to take one.

We took our granddaughter & she absolutely loved it! Train ride was great. Just long enough to have fun but not too long where the kiddos get bored. They had a great play area @ the "pumpkin patch". Lots of games for the children & a couple of blow up bouncy houses. Definitely recommend! A must visit place!!

Such a great experience for all ages, we were a party of twenty, ranging from 2 months to 80 years. Parking can be a little challenging especially if you are not on the first departure. With that said, definitely not a deal breaker, just something to be conscious of. The grounds offer plenty of opportunity for family pictures. The train cars are decorated nicely, all staff encountered were friendly and professional. The train ride itself was fun especially for the toddler age. The elves, Santa and Mrs Claus inside the cars interacted with all age groups. They took the time to work the entire car greeting everyone, the music also made the experience even more festive.

We had a nice lil day trip for a Bday party. It rained and that delayed the train ride but we finally got off and enjoyed it. Very neat train car used for parties. Check out their calendar for upcoming specials.

We went during the Valentine's sweetheart weekend and it was a delight. Riding on a restored 1910 era car that's been refurbished was the coolest thing. The ride up to the winery was smooth and beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

Worth the effort!
Plan a day, a weekend, set aside the time!!!!!

Spend the money, take the day, to use a famous shoe sales logo is impolite but "do it"!

I never took pictures of the trains by themselves...I wasn't reviewing alone or focused. I couldn't separate my experience because I was in immersive mode.

So many trains! Incredibly fun for family; for historical perspective, for homeschool groups, for friends, for schools. This is a wonderful spot to see the grand old trains that made this nation such a success in logistics and resources moving across so many places of harsh terrains.

I understand why people buy out so many special occasions ahead of time. Its spectacular to walk around in the spaces on the different train cars and actually get to ride for a special event.
