El Agave

Nothing but great things to say about this place! These people are like family to us, and they have ALWAYS treated us with such respect and love, even before we were close. The food has always been incredible, and so has the service. They are hard workers, and pride themselves in serving their customers well. Great spot to hang out, great friends, great food. Love these guys!

Excellent pastry.
El Agave was open a bit late in the evening and I am glad. Huge selection of delights. You choose your own from big, glass front display cabinets. Everyone loved their selections. They pastry is light and has a bit of chewiness. Workers were helpful and extra polite. Do not hesitate to visit.

Stopped by the week after visiting the National Cemetery. Picked the destination using on-line reviews and was not disappointed! Nothing particularly fancy about the place or the lunch menu, but everything I ordered was delicious. The chips and salsa were very good, and the chicken in my enchilada Verde was very moist and flavorful! I will definitely visit here again when in the area.

We love this place. The food is good and margaritas are great and usually on some type of special. Margaritas are really their thing. They have a wide variety of flavors, and do 16, 24, and 32oz sizes. Staff are friendly and usually very quick. It's a smaller indoor space and even on a busy night, you don't feel rushed or overlooked. We love trying new places, but we keep coming back to El Agave.

I've been to El Agave many times over the years. At one point, over the last year, it was not good. I decided to go back on a whim as I was craving a margarita & food on the way home. It's back to 5 stars!

We’ve been to so many Mexican restaurants in the area that have always disappointed. This place is by far the best we’ve had in a while! The food was amazing and you get bigger portions and the staff is very friendly. Definitely will be back!!

The food here is great. I have been twice in the past week and it had yet to disappoint. They are very busy, but make sure every customer is attended to. Yes they forgot an item, but when I came back I they realized their mistake and fixed it promptly. The customer service is awesome and they make sure to check on you whether you are dinning in or eating out! 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Great food, and the service is even better! I've enjoyed getting to know some of the waiters/waitresses as I am a frequent here. They make it feel like home!

Food is great and it’s a fun place to go with friends. The AC has been out there for a couple of weeks, so I genuinely hope they fix that soon. Great margaritas and friendly (albeit very busy) staff. You pay at the front whenever you’re done eating, so I recommend just getting up and walking to the front to pay rather than waiting around for your check! The servers may not know what you’re waiting around for and assume you’re just hanging out with your friends/family.

My original review for this restaurant was critical. I decided to change it because I went with some friends today and saw that the service is quick, friendly, and fantastic. The food is good, too. I look forward to coming back again.

The service was great, the chips and guac were absolutely fresh. Our dinner was awesome. Honestly, we have been here several times now. It is always a great meal.

Tres Tacos were wonderful, husband had pork fajitas and loved the dish..Top off both with Margaritas and it was very enjoyable...would definitely go back...saw many posted specials for the week that I would try!

This is an excellent place to eat.. food is great!! But the service is even better.. these people know how to make you comfortable ... loved it. Ate here for the first time this week and already been back... if you haven't been ....go!!!

El Agave opened when I was a sophomore at the University of Montevallo and quickly became my favorite restaurant in town for several years, until I moved away.

Today I found myself back in Montevallo for the first time in 5 years and decided to eat lunch here for old times' sake. I'm happy to report that the mole enchiladas are still outstanding! And what's more, they still have the best margs in the state, hands down!

The staff is always friendly and attentive, the service is fast, and the food is great. Highly recommend!

Food is so good. Come hungry. You get a lot for the fantastic price. Service has been incredible everytime we've gone. Arturo is so friendly and great at checking to see if we needed anything.

I love the fact that you get 2 rounds of salsa and chips free before you get your meal. Staff was very friendly to my family. We will definitely be returning soon.

A favorite! We love coming here and also do take-out. The waitresses are so sweet and provide great service. Combo 42 is my go to and my husband enjoys their Carne Asada. Right on Main Street with parking on the street or in a lot down on the corner.

Great place for notably good Mexican food at reasonable prices. Love the cilantro salsa, excellent queso, and menu full of a delicious variety of meals. They have great deals on different drinks and lunches pretty much daily. And it's super accessible to students and townsfolk since it's right on Main Street.

Great margaritas and food!
