Jessica was able to get me in last minute for a shampoo style on a busy Saturday! My hair looks beautiful. I received many compliments from people at the formal event. Forever grateful! Thank you so much, Jessica!

Love the atmosphere and customer service here. Feels like family and they are dedicated to quality! A little pricey but worth it for the final product and the experience. Josh, Liv, and Grant took great care of me from touch up to brows. Taco and Louie were great canine hosts as well :)

I will go to this salon for the rest of my life. Josh always eats down when he does my hair. Valor and Violet always makes me feel welcomed. No other salon has the same amazing vibe as Valor and Violet! If you’re looking for stylists who actually get to know you and care, this is the salon to go to. <3

Violet and I loved our time booking my haircut appointment, yes, I could easily used their simple to operate online booking option, but I would have missed out on all the kind vibes♡

I was new to the area and wasn’t sure what salon to go to but I am beyond happy I choose this one! I had the honor of having Abbey as my stylist, and in one word she was phenomenal! From the start she made me feel comfortable and kept the good vibes going throughout the whole appointment. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I went in but she talked me through some different styles and really made sure I was happy with the result. Which I definitely was! Left there feeling so great about the rest of the day! Definitely will be back !

Josh is the absolute best!! He always knows what will look best and has helped me regain good hair health after another salon completely ruined my hair last year! Can’t recommend him enough❤ Everyone at valor and Violet is so welcoming and truly know what they’re doing!!

I absolutely love going to see Grant to get my hair done. He manages my hair extensions and I never have any issues with them falling out or anything. He’s very friendly, polite and every time I leave I feel so much better. Definitely recommend seeing Grant for color, extensions, cuts, and styling.

I had a great experience yesterday! I was taking care of by Abbey, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m not a girly girl and didn’t know exactly what to do with my hair, but she sure did! You are fantastic at what you do!

This was my first time going to this salon and I had an eyebrow shape & wax with Taylor. They were about 15 minutes behind, but I was not in a hurry & knew my appointment wasn't going to take that long, so I wasn't upset with it. She did a GREAT job! Very friendly & professional as was all the staff. The salon is beautiful & very clean.

I absolutely cannot rave enough about this salon! The atmosphere and staff are one of a kind! The dogs, the service, the experience are always top notch. I always leave there with a confidence boost. Madi has been my stylist for years and ALWAYS kills it! They also have the funniest podcast #sundayshampoo!

Emily is an absolute angel! She was so kind and TRANSFORMED my hair. My hair has never felt and looked so good. This was my first time here and 1000% will not be my last. Also cant beat the amazing atmosphere! So thankful!

I have had hair extensions on and off for 10 years, hand tied extensions are a game changer. Easy maintenance, and the hair LASTS! Grant has been nothing but great to work with. He makes sure I am leaving the salon happy every 8 weeks and is so fun to visit with. If you live in the Ames or Ankeny area- go here!

Valor and violet is a great locally owned salon. Josh is great with curly hair (this is hard to find in Ames)! They have a great team environment and the employees are all friendly. This is a place when it's evident that the employees like working there. There are even two four legged employees who are great greeters and provide entertainment. I have only had Josh for appointments so far and he's good at honoring his appointments and not taking forever to get the job done. I always look forward to my appointment. They also manage their schedule efficiently, so it's not crazy hard to get in. If you haven't tried them yet, you're missing out!

The best in the hair game !! I take my daughter there and couldn’t be more pleased with the quality and customer care that they provide!!

She always brings my style and cut back to naturally fabulous so I can feel confident that my hair looks healthy and well groomed.

In-trend is great but It doesn’t last so I like a cut I can deal with when I can’t be here. She does that for me and I appreciate it.

I booked an appointment in 2015 and haven’t looked back since! (They’re THAT good) I personally see Madeline Price because she is simply amazing and I’ve never left the salon feeling anything less than beautiful, but all of the stylists at Valor and Violet do such impeccable work. I moved to a different city, but I still drive back to Ames to get my hair done because they are that awesome! ❣

I came here for the first time to get my
hair toned since my hair dresser back home messed up my entire color treatment. Fortunately, I ended up having such a positive experience with Grant and Kristen. They were so sweet and were able to tone down the orange hues throughout my hair with a toning treatment. I would 10/10 recommend this place and I will most definitely be coming back! :)
