I just got the best haircut of my life, hands down. Kristen was so knowledgeable and made sure to ask intentional questions about my hair to ensure we were both on the same page! I had pretty thick and long hair, and wasn’t happy with the weight or look, and Kristen helped me narrow down what I wanted and needed in a cut and explained how she was going to execute it! She was very precise with her work and extremely kind hearted. I could tell their entire salon has great hospitality and talent. I wish I would’ve discovered Salon Bonita sooner! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sierra has been cutting and highlighting my hair for about 6 years now. I’ve gone from medium length to short styles multiple times. She takes time to listen to what I want at the beginning of each appointment and offer suggestions that would best fit my hair. I always get lots of compliments on my bob hairstyle. I would absolutely recommend Sierra and the stylists at Salon Bonita to a friend!

Salon Bonita is the BEST! I've had my hair done by Sierra for years. She has cut and highlighted my hair as well as waxing services. She always takes the time to listen and give me expert advice before we begin. There is no one I would trust more than Sierra or the amazing team at Salon Bonita!

I highly recommend Salon Bonita! The entire staff and place are so welcoming. I've never had a dull moment in the last 5 years with Sierra or Kristen. Everyone is knowledgeable and brings their own unique touch to the salon. There is no other place like this in Ames! Check them out for any haircare needs!

I’m a huge Salon Bonita fan!!! I started going about a year ago and it has been life changing for my hair. I’m a competitive swimmer and my stylist (Kristin) is extremely knowledgeable for how to keep my hair healthy with chlorine. She knows exactly what cuts look best for my hair and always has new ideas. I highly recommend!!!

I am so grateful that I stumbled upon Sierra and Salon Bonita when I was looking for a new hairstylist. Everyone there takes the time to talk to you about what you want and if that style/color would look good with your complexion and face shape. I have curly hair and have never enjoyed it and always straightened it. Sierra has taken the time to teach me how to style it and what products to use.

Mary did a phenomenal job with my 2-year-old daughter’s first haircut. She was patient, kind, and kept my daughter engaged and comfortable with the process. I would highly recommend her!

Got the best hair cut and color I have ever had from Liz at Salon Bonita Ames! My hair is a thick mane that doesn't want to be tamed. But Liz has truly worked wonders! For years I haven't felt confident with my hair. But when Liz starting cutting it, she actually taught me how to care for it.

After a few cuts, she suggested I add some color. I was a bit hesitant at first (I had a really bad coloring experience in high school) but I trusted Liz so I decided to go for it. BEST DECISION! I received so many compliments. I have felt more confident with my hair than ever before and it is much healthier. I definitely recommend getting your hair done at Salon Bonita Ames with Liz or any of the other amazing stylists. You will not be disappointed!

Wanted to update my review, but I am keeping the stars at 5! I have had many services done here inclusing cut, hair, and wax. Kristen has been cutting my hair for years and she is amazing. Stacey cuts my husbands hair every 3 weeks and she is phenomenal. Amy and Sierra are amazing too, I can go on about all the wonderful stylists at Salon Bonita. The atmosphere is super fun and inviting. Would definitely recommend all these ladies, go check them out!

Stacy is an amazing stylist and colorist. I moved to Ames 2yrs ago and found Salon Bonita after leaving a nearby restaurant. Walked in to make an appt in person after asking some questions to another staff member. They recommended Stacy for highlights/lowlights. Stacy cuts/colors/and styles my hair perfectly every time I see her. All the staff is so professional and extremely friendly . I absolutely love Salon Bonita.

Love, love, love Salon Bonita! I first started going here when I was in college and now six years later I drive over a hour to still see them. They are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and talented. Highly recommend!

Curly girls, this is the best salon in Ames for curly cuts! Amy is a magician with curls and color. I love my style and have learned so much about curly hair care. I have been a happy customer for going on 9 years!

I’ve been going to Stacy for over 5 years. She is wonderful. She is a master at color and has always given me a great cut that I can easily style at home. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I typically schedule with Sierra (who is amazing) but I have had almost every girl in there work on my hair in the past. They all are so knowledgeable and friendly and are sure to listen to what you're looking for.
