This lil place is a DIAMOND in the ROUGH. I moved to the suburbs from the city about 8-9yrs ago and since i have had the hardest time finding carnitas anywhere in the suburbs. My SIL introduced my to this place in the summer and i absolutely LOVE this place on the weekends. I feel like i walked into a store on 26th street, feels like home and I LOVE IT. THE TAMALES ARE THE 💣 ALSO!

Tamales, carnitas, and salsa are homemade and delicious. Love supporting mom and pop stores. I will be visiting again soon.

Best tamales in town red green made fresh I'd recomend for anyone place your order ahead of time because they go fast thier tamalesare not dry they fall of the leaf. great service wonderful people.

I love tripe soup so much, the other Mexican store in blue island closed and the other next block over was terrible, but Maria's was the best I've ever had...I recommend you try it's awesome .

THE VERY BEST TAMALES IN THE ENTIRE COOK COUNTY AREA, MAYBE THE STATE. THIS IS NO JOKE, WE LIKE THE GREEN SALSA BETTER, BUT THEY HAVE RED SALSA ALSO. TRY THEIR MENUDO , THIS IS ALSO GOOD.
