98 Wake 'N Shake

They have bubble tea both traditional and poppers. Their menu is small, simple, but still has good options for breakfast and lunch that I think most people would love. The food was awesome.

Every time I’m in the owners are so nice, they make me comfortable and they have the best food around!!!! So many great options.

Breaks my heart you are in the library because I have a hard time stopping in to grab food but when I do it’s fantastic. I love the chicken curry wrap and the fact you have lactose free bubble milk that I strongly recommend (I hate tea) My only complaint is the lettuce, the stalk sometimes taste like you are chomping into raw celery on some of the wraps and sandwiches but they are great about ripping it out for me.

I give it 5 stars for the hot latte alone, it was awesome!!!! Sausage was the best tasting I've ever had, just greasy though. Toast was not impressive, hard and no flavor, eggs were fine .
Update: I returned for another"great latte" & was sorely disappointed. What a shame, won't make a special trip downtown to do that again. Wish it was consistently awesome. Please work on consistency so we want to return

Always friendly service, and they remember their regulars. Very well priced food and a variety of options to choose from on the menu - They offer breakfast all day, sandwiches (half and full), paninis, and wraps. Plus they have a large selection of coffee, tea, milkshakes, and some soft drinks. All over a great place to have lunch if you're in downtown Bangor.

Fantastic neighborhood shop providing a wide range of creative drink and food options. The staff are great to deal with and genuinely down to earth. A great asset to the community and so convenient. They serve our local characters... from students to professionals.

My experience today with 98 Wake 'N Shake was extremely positive, both women working there were very friendly, pleasant to talk to while I was waiting for my bubble tea + bagel, and then left me alone while I was eating and reading my book, and then chatted with me briefly on my way out. So whatever anyone has experienced before, I give this shop 5 stars on customer service.

I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese, it was perfectly toasted with just the right amount of cream cheese, absolutely delicious. Additionally the cream cheese was smooth and creamy, unlike the super hard stuff you usually get at coffee joints, and was a lot less expensive than other places around!!

That said, what drew me into the shop was the bubble tea (which is a major, major pain to make at home if you can 3ven get the supplies!). I got a Thai Bubble tea for the first time in years, and 98 Wake 'n Shake did not disappoint. Their thai tea had that perfect level of smokiness to it, strong without being overcooked, the boba (bubbles/tapioca pearls) were firm but not hard or crunchy, and definitely not overcooked like many of the places in Mass I had gone to previous. Best of all it had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. The price seems a bit steep at first, until you realize how expensive the ingredients are and time consuming it is to make. They don't stint you on the boba either, I had more than I could consume with my drink, I ended up taking them home so I could make more thai tea to put them in, they were that good!! 5 stars for an excellent bagel and amazing thai bubble tea.

Overall I would highly recommend giving this place a try, especially if you have not been here since the management switched. I would add in the caveat of checking Facebook or calling before heading over, they do sometimes close early because they are such a small store, and they're only open weekdays currently. That said, if you like well priced delicious bagels, or are a fan of good bubble tea it is well worth the effort to get the hours and stop by.

Side note: They had Butter Beer Milkshakes during Harry Potter Night. I didn't get one because they had run out of ice cream and were making a trip to go get more, but I heard they were amazing. They were super friendly and nice to everyone, even in the heat with a bunch of people who were grumpy they had run out of supplies (many other places did as well, a lot more people attended than anticipated).

Had a wonderful experience. We're spending a couple days in Bangor and decided to check out this spot for breakfast. Service was quick, the employee was lovely, it wasn't too busy, and the food was wonderful.

Went in to get a coffee. Staff was friendly and the coffee was good. Can't think of anything bad about the shop so 5 stars!

I had breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. Cooked just right. I definitely recommend it.
