Best local grocery store for your cooking needs.

Pretty decent small town grocery store. Prices are typically at least 10% more than the larger grocery stores. I'm not sure why, but the front of the store has a lingering bad meat smell. Some days it is pretty unpleasant.

Update April 2023: They have resolved the bad smell, and their prices have steadied, so I'm moving them to 5 stars.

Just an all around great "little town " super market. You can get just about everything you need. The prices are fair. The stock and selection are good. The best part is the employees. You get to know the people that work there and they get to know you. They know little things like how you like your items bagged, and that your husband likes fruit pies , and you like devil dogs. They also know a little about your life, kids names, pet names, if your married or not, what you do for work, and some of them know even though your an adult , you will always take a sticker when offered one. Just a great place, great people, and a great town.

I love this store. Employees are very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to my house. Be careful in the parking lot. Since Dunkin Donuts moved to their own building the parking lot is scary. There isn't any stop signs or arrows and people don't know who has the right of way.

Cashier's are friendly, prices a comparable to the bigger grocery stores

Loved this grocery store. It is small, but don't let that fool you, they have a wide variety of groceries and their fruits and vegetables are fresh. Have a good variety of meats and seafood. Employees are always nice and management is very customer oriented

Danforth's employees are very welcoming and what you'd expect from a small town store. The grocery selection is not what you'd expect from a major grocery chain, but they have all the essentials you need.
The store is small enough to navigate through quickly and they have plenty of check out lines, so waiting for a cashier is never an issue.
The deli and meat dept are well stocked and affordably priced (not what you'd expect from a small town store) and the service is 5 star.
If you are looking for specialty products to be on the shelves, chances are you won't find it, but if you live in the area and frequent the store often, they will offer anything you want (within reason of course) and let you know when it will be in.
Overall, a suburb, medium sized, small town store with plenty of personality and charm.

Always friendly service and they almost always have what I need, and when they don't they try to get it. The managers are approachable and the facility is clean and well stocked.

Love the quaint atmoshere...definitely down home...there isn't as many varieties of items...however you can find anything you'd need here without the congestion of main stream supermarkets;)

It's great for last minuete shopping when passing through a small historical town filled with eyecatching small shops, bakery and donut shops, churches like the the Apostolic church on Washington Street. Danforths Down Home SuperMarket is located in Bath Maine. Home of Shipbuilders!

Krystal Whitney is the greatest cashier because when I went through she made me feel so comfortable
