Following the death of my parents, I was appointed executor and need to sell a small tract of land in Antrim County. The property was “land-locked” with no access. It would be difficult to sell. I hired Rick Matley. Rick Matley did not just list the property for sale. He negotiated with the adjoining landowner (the township) for a right-of-way, arranged for a surveyor to draft the proposed right-of-way, petitioned the Township Board and attended the Township Board meeting regarding the right-of way. As a result of his efforts, access was obtained. He was then able to sell the property for an excellent price. Rick Matley went far and above what is normally expected of a real estate broker. I am an attorney in Kentucky, and I have been involved in many real estate transactions and I have dealt with many real estate brokers. I have never experienced such excellent service. Rick Matley did exactly what he said he would do. Even more. He went the extra mile. All of that for a transaction involving a small tract in which he received a small fee. I have never left a review for a real estate broker; but feel I must, because Rick Matley did such an excellent job.
