Great preserve in the winter, and definitely a great place to get lost in the wilderness to explore.

Pretty easy trail with some elevation change and great scenery. Took my nieces here and while we were carrying them by the end, they had tons of fun. Definitely bring a snack to have at the observatory and check out the quarry overlook.

Clean and peaceful. Good workout as it has many changes in elevation. Loved it

Great place to hike or cross country ski. It is a huge area with beautiful mature forest and lots of hills. Main entrance is on the north side, but there are at least two entry points on the south side (North Territorial Road) with extremely limited parking. There are many trails and it is easy to get lost - bring a compass and/or make sure your GPS/phone is charged up.

This is a great place for walking - some strenuous parts, but sections of large trees that are especially beautiful during the spring and autumn. Also super venue for cross-country skiing, as long as you can handle the hills, some of which are pretty steep.

And there's the observatory, which is cool even when closed.

The only drawback can be parking if it's crowded (which isn't too often).

Absolutely lovely I the best description for one a nature's gifts. The rolling hills, the sun shining through the tree branches is magical and peaceful. There are hiking trails. It is just a beautiful area.

Great 3 hour walk, we didn't see anyone else. Saw a 4 pt buck before seeing his big brother.

Absolutely gorgeous white pine and red pine forests with a surprising amount of trails, with real hills! One of my favorite hikes in awhile.

Lots of hills and trees to gawk at.. or ooo and ahh at really.. there are several forks in the path. Nothing is marked out there, but I still found my way back to the front gate pretty easy.. trails were in decent shape, only moderately muddy in places
