Cece is a very professional and talented stylist who has done wonders for my natural hair because, beyond her focus on styling, she also cares about the health of hair. From the quality of the products used, to the cleanliness of the shop, to her timeliness with clients, it's evident that she takes great pride in the work that she does. That makes a huge difference in both the client experience while in the salon and the beautiful hair that walks out of it. Highly recommended!

This is a great, clean salon! Cece is so friendly and really cares about your hair. She goes above and beyond to make her clients feel comfortable and listens to what they want. I got a relaxer and was very nervous because of previous hair loss( not by cece) and walked out with all my hair! No shedding! Let CeCe work her magic on you!!

Cece Johnson co-owner of Uptown New York has been performing magic on my hair since 2012. Whether cutting or coloring my natural hair, Cece is always consultative, thoughtful & careful to ensure that my hair not only looks fabulous but is also healthy. I recently moved from Cali & had a series of poor color & cut encounters with stylists in my new location. The damage was so bad that I had to fly to Cali so that CeCe could repair my hair. Of course, she assessed the damage & went the extra mile to correct the color, protect my hair & fixed the uneven cut. Cece is a one of a kind, and if you should have the privilege of sitting in CeCe’s chair, you’ll be loved, cared for & walk out the salon feeling as beautiful as you are!

I have been getting my hair done at Uptown New York Style for over 20 years. First 10 by Louticia and now her daughter, Cecelia. I've been getting my hair done by CeCe for over 15 years. She's very professional. She listens to what you want, and makes suggestion for how to best take care of your hair. The decor is beautiful, and recently updated. The parking is free.

One thing my mom and I truly appreciate from Cece is that she always applies a base to our scalp. I have a sensitive scalp, and I have always been concerned a-bout my scalp burning when I get a relaxer, but with Cece, I've never had this as a problem. Also, Cece cares about making you look good, and she gets you in
and out in a reasonable time frame.

Where do I begin?! I have been going to Uptown New York Style, religiously, since I was 19 years old--I will be 34 in a few days (that should speak volumes, alone!). Cecilia and Ms. Louticia are incredibly professional, highly-skilled, timely, communicative, and are absolutely adamant about hair education. You will always leave there more informed about how to care for your hair--whatever style you are rocking. There's a great teaching moment in every visit and I am always thankful for it. The salon is immaculate and the energy is calm and inviting. I have gotten everything done there and have been 100% satisfied across the board each and every time (this is an understatement). I always leave there lighter and happier and more confident than ever--as I know every client of their's does. My love for Cecilia and Ms. Louticia goes well beyond this review! xx

I have always had issues getting my hair done. A lot of hair stylist simply do not know what to do with my hair due to the fact that I have Alopecia Areata and also African American hair. I've always been mortified of my hair, and still struggle trying to hide my bald patches. I have been getting weaves as a way to hide my disease for about three years and up until about a year ago was seeing someone who wasn't quite comfortable dealing with my disease. I decided to seek out someone who specialized in it. I found Cece through some research and before I knew it, I was in her chair. From the beginning, I was made to feel normal which was something I was not used to. It didn't matter where I lost hair, or how much I lost, she never made me feel ashamed. She is and always has been so warm and kind to me. I leave her salon and people don't even know Alopecia Areata is something I struggle with. Both in and out of her salon, I am normal. Cece is knowledgeable, professional, skilled, and one of the most incredible people I have had the pleasure to know. I plan on going to Cece for years to come. I encourage anyone who struggles with hair loss to visit this salon and the amazing people who work in it. You will not be disappointed!
