The people here are great! I came in a few weeks before the Grand Traverse to get a new backcountry ski set up before the race. Brandon talked me through what set up would be best for me and fitted my boots several times the week leading up to the race. I would not have survived without Cripple Creek Backcountry. Great customer service. Highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable staff and great selection. Brandon had great advice and put a rush on punching out my new boots so we could continue on our trip. Highly recommend.

Had a trip to Denali planned and needed a pair of ski boots that would be comfortable to wear for 20 days straight. Didn't know if it was possible, but Nick at Cripple Creek helped me try on every combination of boot and insole and heat mold them to my feet. He also helped me build an emergency kit for backcountry ski/boot repair. The boots worked great. The team at CCB knows what they're doing and it's well worth the money to get fitted by experts.

Carbondale store staff is experienced, knowledgeable, organized, timely, and they communicate very well. They all seem to care about what they're doing, which is very refreshing these days! Highly recommend doing business with these folks.

Friendly knowledgeable staff who will help you with what they do and tell you when somebody else might be able to help you even better, or with that wax kit that's in your attic.

Drove to Carbondale from grand junction looking for Backcountry cross country skis. Brandon was a ton of help. He assisted us with finding the correct skis and bindings. He went above and beyond to get the bindings mounted for us in an hour because we drove from grand junction. This normally takes 1-2 business days but they had it done for us in an hour so that we could go out and enjoy the day. If I am ever in the market for Backcountry cross country skis again, I will make another trip to this establishment to purchase them. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thank you Brandon!!!

The Carbondale shop did an excellent job of mounting one new pair of skis and remounting a pair of race skis. The race skis are touchy because there's no adjustment, so they have to be just right. So, thanks very much!!

I also love Cripple Creek BC's commitment to community events--races, outings, avy talks, etc.

Keep up the good work!

These guys are awesome. I've never been in to their shops but spoke with them over the phone. They were super helpful, listened to my experience and goals and helped create a custom package for me. They definitely take the time to hear what their customers want. Very pleased. Will be coming back for all my backcountry gear.

It’s easy to support local business when they are this awesome! I haven’t skinned before and didn’t know where to start. Paul was knowledgeable and patient as he educated me on my different gear options. Tyler was super friendly when he molded my boots. I was anxious to spend that much money on a new sport and never felt pressured to buy anything. I can tell the employees are super passionate and shopped online a bit and saw that it was a better value to buy a package from them than piece together items online. I highly recommend checking in with them if you’re thinking of buying.

The folks at Cripple Creek took care of my order quickly and courteously. They followed up on a shipping address and sent out the product I ordered promptly. The ski crampons themselves work like a charm and fit my skis perfectly. I have 88 mm waist width and the 100 mm worked super! Thanks. Would recommend working with Cripple Creek Backcountry.

Really great experience with Slater buying my first skinning setup. Even though the store was super busy. Slater spent sufficient time with me to help me find the best setup - comfortable boots, the best uphill skis, and a super easy binding setup - and he did it at the right price. Nice work by the CCB team. Glenn

Awesome place to order gear online. Easy website to negotiate. Great gear for BC skiers. Their website showed an aluminum whippet in stock, but the website likely hadn't been updated. They communicated very promptly and sent me a carbon one instead. Great customer service!!

I was looking for a full new setup for longer tours and raaces, without breaking the budget, and searching online kept leading me to Cripple Creek BC. I liked how they had a good discount on package deals (with suggestions and detailed reviews), and I love the idea of a BC-first local store that is still able to have competitive prices, along with selection and service. I quickly discovered the podcast, exchanged a few emails, and had great support throughout. Soon enough, I had great gear at my door. Can't wait for them to expand to Boulder as well. Cheers!

I was fitted with perfect equipment for me after just a glance and a few questions 🙀 When I went touring with some very experienced friends the next day, I was the only one not in any pain, and was actually able to ski a couple of runs on the resort after. The people who work here are both wonderful and extremely knowledgeable, and the equipment is remarkable. THANK YOU!

Stopped in for some AT gear mountings, was greeted warmly by Brandon in the store on a Sunday morning. Knowing I was residing quite a distance from the store, he mounted my equipment right away and had me on my way less than an hour later. He also took the time to answer a couple of repair issues I had with my old equipment. These guys are pros. Thanks Brandon, I'll be back for my next purchases.

Love this place. The guys are really helpful. In fact, I live in Los Angeles and I go out of my way to buy all my Gear from them. I purchased my first touring set up from this place from a recommendation from my brother. Doug walked me through everything, Gave me some great advice and assisted me in my first AT touring set up. A few years later, he helped my set my girlfriend up with a touring set up. Can’t say enough good things about their knowledge and customer service. Highly recommend and I’ll be back for sure !

Awesome and really knowledgeable staff helped me put together a full package for my wife's first experience with alpine touring. Also hooked me up with a great new kit as well. Even though we're on the east coast, they took care of everything we needed and worked with me on the back and forth to get everything perfectly dialed in.

Great shop. Clearly Doug and his staff are committed to their customers. I was an online customer, and the personal attention I got was like being on the shop floor. Quick answers to questions, super knowledgeable. I needed some guidance on gear, and after ordering felt that the advice was spot on, as I love my skis and bindings.

Very helpful & prompt customer service, even on a Sunday. Great prices and it's awesome that they give discounts for buying multiple items to get a backcountry setup. I have yet to receive my order as I just placed it yesterday, but I expect that to be prompt as well.
