Great museum and though outside reenactment campsite is small it was well done. My only regret was going too late in the day. With kids the outdoor stuff is most interesting and kid friendly. Inside is more adult focused but there was one exhibit where you can type in what liberty means to you and the kids enjoyed that because they show up on electronic lanterns hanging on the tree in the exhibit. If you go with young kids, just set your expectations. Everything is stroller friendly. Would definitely go again without the kids to read more signs.

This is a must stop on your historical tour of VA. The inside is full of lots and lots of fantastic information, great artifacts, and one really cool movie on the siege.
Outside it just stays fantastic with a fully set up camp and farm that have characters in time piece clothing answering questions and giving presentations and demonstrations.

It was all great. The indoor and outdoor exhibits were great. The short films were outstanding. The outdoor personnel were very knowledgeable and very authentic looking. We had a great time.

Very nice museum. Layout is a bit confusing and no one offered a map. It was very informative. Lots of places to sit down and plenty of bathrooms. Took us about an hour to get through.

This was great! There's a period accurate working farm with very informative speakers as well as one at the surgeon's tent and staff in the homestead buildings.

We really enjoyed interacting with the reenactors, and seeing the encampment, as well as the farm! The indoor exhibits walk you through the timeline of the various conflicts and skirmishes of the Revolutionary war, including the time leading up to and after effects, as well as biographical highlights of the key players involved.

You arrive to a large parking lot that is wheelchair friendly.
The initial desk staff is friendly and very helpful in getting you started.
The exhibits are well lighted and layed out logically.
There are several short movies that make the exhibits much clearer.
The artifacts and writeups are clear and concise.
Love the use of holograms
Outside recreations of a farm and encampment bring it home when you speak to interpreters.
Thur knowledge of all aspects of colonial life during the American revolution era is astounding.
An amazing bit of history that made us who we are.

The newest of the Museums in the triangle. Definitely a lot to see and read. There is a theatre experience that is a must do. Could easily spend several hours exploring.

Very informative and colorful displays. Lots of people to talk to and ask questions if they weren't busy giving tours. Indoor displays were colorful and kid friendly. Indoor exhibits weren't too long. Lots of good information displayed. Outside reenactments were fun and engaging. Most of the actors were helpful and talkative.

Loved this place. They have so much to see, and you can interact with some of the displays. Also, we did a tour of what a battlefield looked like and what a farm looked like. I would love to go back and explore more.

Excellent museum with a very well laid out path through history up to just after the declaration of Independence was signed. The guns were the highlight because frankly, who doesn't like them?

You really gain an appreciation for what our ancestors went through to gain independence. Highly recommend.

This museum is amazing!!!! A must visit for anyone with kids or the history lover💗 it's an amazing experience for the whole family. My kiddos like museum and history so this visit was a one of a kind experience. They loved everything about it. From the staff dressed up in colonial outfits to the stories they had to share. Very educational wish more kids could experience this.

The museum is very well laid out and expertly presented. All of the museums and tours in the area do a very good job at presenting how the countries of Spain and England influenced the early government, cultures, laws, and trades of the early settlers, but could not dictate or control the human will. The story is very well presented of how their early influence affected the course of the development of a new nation, being modified by the commoners in the new land, developing their own culture of human acceptance and endurance and governance. The museum grounds also provide live interactive reenactments of trades, family life, cultures, and military practices. It is well worth the time spent to tour the campus.

The museum has a great collection of colonial and American Revolution displays and artifacts. There is a detailed presentation of the Siege of Yorktown and an outdoor Continental Army encampment that provided a real-life demonstration of the daily life of the soliders.

We had a great time at the museum. It was the perfect end to our trip through history in the area. I would definitely take the time to watch the movies and short films throughout the museum. The amount of reading may be a bit much for younger children but my older kids really enjoyed it. My middle schooler, who is a typical middle schooler and is never up for anything, loved it and thanked me for taking him.

The American Revolution Museum was so interesting! All the staff were so knowledgeable and more than willing to interact! The musket demo was so fun! We loved seeing how the soldiers lived and then how civilian life was like during the time! The gardens were flourishing!!

A newe museum with a lot of history. The theaters are worth the price of admission alone. Very well thought out and interactive. The outdoor exhibits were a nice touch!

This is an amazing historical place, well organized, well maintained and well built. I have never seen a museum with so many video presentations throughout the museum. Outside area was so cool with the natural garden, chickens running around and little historical presentations. Plus, they are members of museums4all.
