Charlie's Restaurant-Catering

Everyone that follows me knows, I love good food. This restaurant is off the chain lip smacking good. Being from South Carolina I didn't think I would find a restaurant to my taste. I love collard greens cornbread homemade biscuits grits fat back and southern fried chicken 🍗. This place has got it all. The atmosphere is very polite friendly service and not to mention how good their sweet tea is "wow".

We came to this place for a person's recommendation, I honestly didn't like it. I found kind of fastfood food. It was good, but I was looking for something more local. Anyway, something new to try, food it was good and cheap

The food here was great. Our server was very attentive and helpful with her suggestions. The seafood platter is worth the price. The crab was amazing. We tried the alligator sausage and it was very tasty. I could see myself ordering that in the future. We went here on the recommendation from a fishing buddy. Glad we took the advice!

My first visit I sat at the bar. I had great service. I ordered a breakfast of eggs & grits and a waffle. It was made to order & fresh and delicious. My second visit I brought my children and got to try the pecan crusted chicken tenders and waffle. What a treat! If you want a good deep South feel when you’re visiting New Orleans step outside the city for a bit and come here.

Shabby chic decor. Impeccable Louisiana southern sweet service and hospitality. Huge portions which we loved. The mashed potatoes and gravy illegal. Crawfish sauce for catfish thin and crawfish were overcooked. Onion Rings good. Love this place

Once we get out of the French Quarter, hubby and I often make wrong turns and 'wind up lost'..Disoriented and hungry, we decided to just pull up, at the first place that looked good. And there on St. Bernard Highway was Charlie's. All I can say is 'wow'. Great food, wonderful homey vibe, sweet waitress, monster portions of food, cooked to perfection and tasty as all get out. Though we found this place by accident, it's a bet we'll be coming back!! Yum.

We were just after a simple light dinner but I got so much more. Absolutely delicious.

Food and service were excellent! Nicole was our server, very nice, took good care of us. I had the grilled pork chops, seafood platter looked great too! Down home feel, definitely recommend.

We had a great experience. Josh was a good server, very attentive. He told us about their specials and we actually took him up on both, along with a cup of gumbo! Yum! We paid with credit card so they do accept them. Thank you for your southern hospitality!

Food was delicious. We will be back.

Can't get more local than Charlie's. Servings are huge. All the food is good. Servers are always helpful, my go to spot when I get a visitor from out of state.

Was freezing cold inside tough so be sure to bring a warm, comfy sweater with you!

I always get the Roast beef on French. Wow. It's to die for.

This place was amazing, took a trip with my friends to see the town and a local friend of ours brought us here! It was fantastic, the catfish practically melted in my mouth!
