As the new Administrator for the New Orleans hospitals for Beacon, I can honestly say I have the best staff anyone could ask for. We have made great strides in providing compassionate and quality care for our patients. The team we have in place is second to none. We are improving the aesthetics throughout the facility, have created an outside area where patients can enjoy time and activities outside and we work to make out patients feel welcome and valued while staying with us. We consider each and every person who comes to us for care part of our family.

I am newly the Director of Nursing at Beacon East. While some of these reviews speak to past experiences, we have revamped our staff and reinforced our mission to provide unsurpassed patient care in a compassionate, cost effective, and ethical manner. My staff values putting CARE into what we do. Moral is a breath of fresh air! Our patients enjoy the care we are providing. I look forward to continuing to improve the environment and the care our patients receive.

I was there for 10 days and I can say this place and staff are the best I had just been released from prison going through some things and the people here really treat you the best and take care of their patients. Thank you

Started out shaky by my own doing... However, after being there a few days I can honestly say it was a good experience. Staff was always willing to help, and the new D.O.N. has made some major changes for the best..... I'll recommend it... Fact...

Beacon behavioral hospital provides services to those who are in crisis. The staff of licensed professionals offer groups, individual therapy sessions, medication management, monitoring, and coordination of care.

My first impression was not a good one, after giving the staff a chance I soon discovered that their mental health techs are extremely experienced they meet you where you are... The things I would change about the place is definatley make it less scary environment by painting. All of the techs I encountered were critical to my recovery in my situation. Mental health issues are hard for anyone... I do believe they could benefit from more structure for the patients thank you Nikki,Paris,Rhonda,Q,John Jr,Tonya nurse Shawna, mr johnny...

The doctors and employees are providing exceptional services. They have the best doctor named Dr. Jose & Dr. Casey. The technician named Xavier, Darel, Delisa, & Shawn provide exceptional service. The Nurse named Ms. Antonoite is a loving and caring nurse. The building is kind of old with a very small & uncomfortable bed, they really need to change this. The patients are having a hard time to be in the hospitals in the first days & the last day being discharged. The food is kinda up & down between tasting good or not, but overall not bad. Hopefully, I won’t have to come back to this place not unless they’re reconstructing & rebuilding this place or upgrade in a newer fashion or version. Good luck guys

Zero stars. This place doesn't deserve even half of one star. A family memeber was admitted to beacon behavioral on the eastbank with a 72 hour mandatory hold. Since then, it has already four days & they have yet to guve her a proper discharge date. Several staff members have given her several different discharge dates that they were "unsure" of it being legitimate or not. Many staff members have given her dirty looks, gossiping about her and other patients, and simply treating them like animals. My family member is not an animal, she is not a prisoner, she is not mentally unstable. Yet that are treating her as if she is not a real person, as if her health doesn't matter. There is terrible communication within this facility as there are nurses who have communicated that they were "just as confused as" me when i asked questions. My family member has communicated with me that there was a mosquito cooked into her hashbrowns that they served her for breakfast. Another incident is that when she asked a nurse for creamer for her coffee, the nurse proceeded to give her a dirty look, roll her eyes, and walk away without saying a word and never giving her creamer for her coffee. I'm unsure as to how this is supposed to be a place for people to go for rehabilitation and treatment purposes when the staff if inconsiderate, immature, and uncaring for those in their care. There are very few staff members that i have heard good things about. This is unbelievable and this place should be shut down or reevaluated with a different staff and leadership. Patients are not treated well and there is no proper communication amongst staff.

I willingly admitted myself into Beacon to safely detox from alcohol withdrawals. I was there for 5 days. In the five days, I spoke to the nurse practitioner ONCE. She treated me as a number, not a human being. Going into this facility willingly, I should not have been treated the way I was. I am not a prisoner, a criminal or mentally unstable. I just needed help in a safe environment to go through alcohol withdrawals without going into seizures. I was treated by 90% of the staff as a number. As a burden to their day. The facility itself was horrendous. Willingly going to a facility, you shouldn’t be treated like a prisoner.

During a “behavior group”, one staff member spent the entire time on his phone, not engaged with any of the patients who were desperately asking for help. He also repeatedly begged the patients to leave good reviews for Beacon (which they obviously need)

In the “recreation room”, I caught the only staff member completely asleep in a guarded off area. ASLEEP in a facility packed with violent, mentally unstable individuals who could do serious harm to themselves and others. This made me sick to my stomach knowing if I was attacked by a patient, I would have had zero help from staff.

I do need to give credit where credit is due. There were two amazing staff members and I wish I could thank them directly. Big Johnny was one of the most amazing human beings I’ve ever met in my life. Helpful, understanding and a put- together man who truly cared for my needs. Also, Ashley, at the nurse’s station, was incredible and joyous to be around.

On their website description, Beacon advertises one of their expertises as a detox facility. If you are looking to detox and get clean and sober, DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I saw the reviews before I admitted myself into Beacon “Behavioral Hospital”.

I truly wish I had something better to say. To the staff member who begged for reviews, I hope it’s a lesson reading what I have to say about your lack of care for struggling people while your YouTube and Instagram was more important.

I have attempted multiple times to get follow up care from the social worker and have not received a call back or any amount of attentiveness. Beacon is absolutely trash and at least half of the staff members should be fired and have their nursing licenses taken from them.

Mentally ill individuals are HUMAN BEINGS and should be treated with care and love, which is not provided by Beacon. They want to keep you there for as long as possible to make the most money from you and your insurance.

If I could give zero stars, I would. If you hate your job so much, GO GET A NEW ONE.

I hope I can help at least one person with my review with choosing a safe place to detox. I am now 34 days clean and sober but if I could do it over, Beacon would be the last place I’d ever send myself or anyone I care about to.
