I called Strands after I had an appointment with another salon got cancelled. I'm going to my son's basic training graduation next week, so I needed my hair done immediately. I saw Ashley for highlights and a hair cut. She was awesome. Her consultation was very in depth which was great because I was new to her. She took her time at every step to make sure I got what I wanted. She was very knowledgeable about products that would work for my hair. To make things even better, the cost for services, tip, and two products was less than what the color would have been at the other salon. Great experience!

I just wanted to share my experience I had today. It was wonderful! I see Robin For all my waxing needs and she is just so amazing, and makes you feel so comfortable. On a whim I wanted to get my hair done today and I was seen by Matthew. I just want to say it was incredible. From the moment I sat in his chair I got good vibes and he gave my severely dry hair some love and a confidence boost today. In todays society it’s so easy to be hard ourselves and I left the salon today feeling worthy plus looking great. 10/10 recommend the salon/spa and it’s just really nice to treat yourself.

Steve did such a wonderful job on my hair. I am SO happy with the results... especially considering that I had no idea what I wanted. I can't wait to come back for some color. Robin did a great job on my brows as well. The entire staff was friendly and the place had a nice vibe. This is my place. Definitely recommend.

Matthew was hands down the best stylist I have ever used. He took the time to go over my haircut and explained what would work best for my hair type and facial structure. He was so easy to talk to and personable. I was nervous about cutting my long hair short…. Needless to say he has found a customer for life!

I visited Strands Salon and Spa on 29 March 2023. I hadn’t cut my 3ft-long hair in the span of seven years and was terrified of entering a hair salon after a bad haircut experience in 2016. When I inquired of the possibility of being booked at the spot, Steve, the owner, was kind enough to put me in their busy schedule right then and there. Nathan, my hairstylist, let me choose the length where I wanted the very dead and split-ended ends of my hair to be cut; we ended up cutting about 8-10 inches off. I received some shaping and layering, as well. Ultimately, I received great service and am very happy with my new length; now, thanks to Strands Salon and Spa, it takes me less than 5 minutes to brush my hair all the way through compared to 30-45 minutes every morning and evening. I feel confident in putting my trust in this salon, and that’s saying a lot about the excellent quality of the salon and the talent of the stylists for a girl who was so scared of entering a hair salon and cutting her hair for seven whole years. Thank you to everyone at the salon, and I greatly appreciate everyone’s service, and most importantly, their talent in hair-cutting.

Matthew was amazing!!!! He sat down with me and took the time to listen to what I wanted and talk through different options. He explained everything so well and really knows what he’s doing! He was also so friendly and the entire experience and staff was spectacular. Highly recommend this place and Matthew!

Kristin Gee moved upstairs to Hair Vibes. I always leave her chair with a smile. She knew what to do with my color after I showed her a few pictures!

Best Salon around. I have been a client of theirs for 5 years now and even when I moved 45 mins away still make the drive for Steve to cut my hair and for my eyebrow wax. They offer other great services such as nails, massages, facials and much more. Worth every penny.

I was treated so kindly and professionally. I had a mess of hair before going in and left with beautiful hair. I was nervous that they might fuss or complain about the work they had to do to fix my hair which is very thick, frizzy and had bad color. They didn’t fuss about it at all and seemed to enjoy helping me. The environment was warm and friendly. Everything about my experience was great. Nathan really did a wonderful job with my hair and was incredibly kind and fun.

My 1st time in, I booked a haircut by Deanna. My previous stylist had left the area and I'd been looking for a new stylist for a few of years. I have a disability and my service dog goes everywhere with me. You wouldn't believe the number of salons that denied me service because he has to be with me. I was extremely anxious, I was put immediately at ease. When Deanna ask what I was wanting done, I said a "Wolf Cut". Much to my surprise, she knew exactly what I meant. Perfection was the resuly.

5 stars is not enough. I can never remember names but Steve, the owner had always done So Very great with my color. .But he was all booked up so I got a new stylist and she did my color AS GOOD AS ITS EVER BEEN! Someone please find her name and post it!!! Shes super awesome

Steve is so sweet. Have lived in Winston 10 years now, after being with several different hair dressers have finally found THE one. It was always disappointing going to other hair dressers that didn't live up to my standards but when I discovered Strand Salon I was so happy. Steve is fantastic, does a great job and always goes out of his way for you. Both him and Robin are just the nicest people.

When we moved to Winston-Salem, a woman I work with recommended Steve at Strands Salon. I have never known a more talented stylist. Steve is consistent and very precise and detailed when cutting my hair. He always turns out a perfect cut that I love. In addition, he is punctual and professional. I can't recommend this salon highly enough.

My sister knew Kathryn and I came to her for a haircut. She is super sweet (as was all the staff) I told her what I wanted done and she did amazing. I felt great leaving the salon. Great work!

This salon is amazing! I love that they use Aveda products and sell the most popular products in the store st a reasonable price!

My stylists name is Lisa and she is great! She listens to what I want, offers her opinion and makes sure I’m completely satisfied with the outcome. She is very talented with blondes. Not a lot of stylists do well with blondes but Lisa is amazing! I just love her and will not go anywhere else!

Kathryn is amazing! I haven't done anything to my hair in a very long time but I decided to spruce it up and it turned out perfect! Shes amazing and would totally recommend her!
