McKay's Winston-Salem

Huge building, absolutely packed with things. It would take you hours to go through everything in here. Some prices are a little high. Some are a good deal. But it's like a nerd thrift store and I'm so glad we found it. Definitely will be back and bringing people with me.

Shopping at McKay is always a wonderful and exciting experience. With an unbelievable selection and friendly staff, McKay's visits are always very fun and welcoming. Thank you! Can't wait to stop back in!

This place is pretty nostalgic with vintage video games and consoles, vinyls, CDs, board games, toys from back in the day. It's a pretty cool place.

Absolutely amazing store selling new and used EVERYTHING. Books, board games, video games, DVDs, albums, toys... just WOW. Worth the trip to NC alone to see this store! They even have bins full of free books!

This place is amazing. I've been bringing my used books, blu rays and games of all kinds, meaning video games and board games, and the option for cash and store credit is always good. You could spend hours in this place just browsing so if you have used stuff such as I mentioned then this is a good place to bring them. Staff is always friendly and they are usually pretty quick even when busy, it takes like 30 to 45 minutes for them to go through your things and give you your credit/cash.

Books. Puzzles. Games. Merchandise. Plus, there's a lot more. Bins with free books. I was there to get puzzles and came home with 6. The prices are fantastic. After all, it is a used book store. I scored books for my grandchildren and books for me. The store is well organized and clean. Aisles are labeled. You are able to easily find the section you are looking for. I do not know the policy for book donations.

Visited the new location today...WOW!! This place is above and beyond awesome!! Definitely not an in and out stop only because their is so much too look at. Their labeling of isle and items is immaculate and we'll displayed for ease of search. I will have to go back on a weekend because 20 minutes was not enough! I love they have couches in areas to look at books or possibly read to kids. Barnes and Nobles had this year's back and it's missed. I did not visit their old location but I can tell you I'm sure it didn't compare. Extremely easy to get in and out of with multiple entries. I do have one suggestion.... I know they have been incredibly busy with the move, but ask your staff to smile a little and be expressive. The cashier had the same tone as today's rainy weather. Check out was easy and quick, labeling of products was also outstanding! Great job!!👍👍

This is one of my favorite stores in Winston Salem. They have a great selection of used items, books, movies, games, and more. You really can spend hours in here and find amazing deals.

Love this place. Very good quality for used items. Like new. Huge selections. Even a row of free books out in the entryway. Very helpful and corteous employees.

While I have not been to the actual location in awhile, we love this store. Finding all kinds of used books, is a great thing to do. We love reading, even though, we have different taste in genres. She likes the horror, suspense type books. I like the sci fi, fantasy type. We will be visiting this location very soon.

First time in here and was amazed at the amount of cool stuff they had! Ended up spending a lot of time looking around they have good prices on books, games, toys, electronics and more. They have more books then a library it’s seems wow

Love this place ...i got my son hooked on it too...they got a lot of old albums. Cd,s. Games,,,books... just get there....cool place

This place is great for browsing, but it's also great for selling and/or trading in books, music, games, puzzles, video games, stereo and computer equipment, and toys. I took in a handful of books and some unwanted action figures, and was surprised how generous the offer was! They offer cash, or a much higher amount if you're willing to take trade-in credit instead. (Smart of them, because you browse while you wait for your offer, and if you're like me you'll find lots to buy during that time!)

Oh my goodness... What a selection of books and other stuff

I FINALLY came by McKay's after their location change. I am so happy I visited...but so sad that I hadn't beforehand! I came in expecting to maybe pick up a book, and I left with 3 books, 2 games, and a figure for my coworker who frequents the store! Everything was reasonably priced and the employee I talked to was extremely sweet - I didn't get her name though! She was very kind and her customer service is amazing. I will absolutely be back for more!!!

This is a pretty cool store. They had every board game known to man, comic books, and electronics as far as the eye could see. Also a wonderful selection of music instruments. It's like goodwill but way better because there's actually stuff you want to buy.

First time to this store. Loved it!! The place is huge and they have so much to look at. Books, movies, music, video games, comics, figures, etc.! Spent hours trying to look at everything. We finished with quite the haul. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

These stores are my favorite. If you're an avid reader and/ or book lover, they're most likely your treasured place as well. However, these two stores offer more than books galore - they also stock used media, games, viny,l and MUCH, MUCH more.. Just as wonderful and practically organized as the store located in Greensboro, but this one is even larger! AND you can bring in your used books, etc. toward store credit in this location also. Make sure you have plenty of time to spend browsing the vast inventory and plan on many, many fulfilling return trips.

I always love trips to McKays, I always find good stuff here for a great price. I've bought movies, board games, manga, books and anime figures too. Awesome store!!

This store had an amazing selection of new and used books and other items. I was looking for some older, tried & true cool books, and the selection was astounding!
