Trusty Chords Record Shop

I work in Edwardsville on the weekends and during my lunch break, I was searching for a record shop to see what I could find. Trusty Chords had the answer for exactly what I am looking for in a record shop. Please don't buy into the other negative reviews. The owner was nothing but nice and welcoming when I walked in for the first time. For me, having a smaller record shop is ideal like this one that has the items I'm looking for and many surprises. I went back this past weekend and had an even better experience. His selection is very well curated for my wide range of tastes and I've walked out a happy customer. It's a shame that someone is trying to be vindictive towards an owner who was such a pleasure to speak with. Will be back every weekend to look and will be purchasing most of my new release records from this shop. Support small and local businesses!

Great local shop if you are looking for records or CDs. A lot of variety for everyone. Records are a bit on the pricey side but that’s to be expected with the popularity with vinyl now a days.

A wonderful hidden gem in my basic as hell little town. Prices are great and the selection is outta this world. Always has the newest releases in stock. They have a huge selection for the normies and casual listeners. But the true treasure is, they have one of the greatest punk/hardcore/metal sections this side of the river! Can’t believe E’ville is blessed with such a cool record store!

Had a wonderful time here. I don’t have the faintest idea what these other reviews are talking about and they feel like they were definitely a personal attack. The service was great and funny, the selection is killer and there were a lot of really cool items in shop. No smell other than incense which were fantastic. Ill be coming back and ill bring a group with me.

The owner(?) is super friendly and helpful. Have been a few times since I started collecting vinyl again. Selection is good and prices are fair enough. Wish they had more used vinyl.

My husband and I are long time customers of Trusty Chords - in response to the cyber attack, I can tell they are fake because the reviews make no sense at all. The store is always clean and organized. Additionally, the employees have never once been rude to us or any other patron in the store. Colin is helpful, attentive, down to earth, and knowledgeable. We never met him before coming to his store, so there is no personal friendship with him, only business. As such, I have nothing to gain by writing a positive review, other than to support a business I stand behind. The rest of these negative reviews are obviously by “people” that have never even shopped there before. Don’t trust them. See for yourself!

The owner here is so nice! The selection is amazing for records and cassettes. I have been searching for a shop like this and will 100% be back!

I went here on record store day for the Taylor Swift release and was not disappointed. They had enough copies and were very prepared and organized!

Great variety in music selection and I always appreciate record stores that offer a variety of formats instead of having only vinyl. Have been coming to this place for nearly two years now and I always have a great experience and have left almost every time with something new to my collection. This side of the metro STL area has needed a record store like this for a long while, highly recommend checking it out. Cheers!

This is a nice record shop. It's not huge, but they have a good selection, and good prices. Well worth checking out, conveniently located in Edwardsville! I am a regular customer. I always find something good! Let's support local!

My wife and I happened upon this place last week and it is such a gem! They have a very extensive metal selection. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices are lower than any other record store I've been to locally. We don't go to Edwardsville too often as it's about 40 minutes away from us, but we will be going there much more often just to visit Trusty Chords! You guys rule!

This is one of my favorite record shops I have encountered on my travels around the US. They have a huge selection of hard to find records. The owner was nice and personable. Don't listen to the troll reviews.

Nice little shop. They always seem to have good prices on the stuff I like- used LPs, CDs, and cassettes of folk, world, country, bluegrass, classical, and jazz to name a few. Thanks for being here.

Great selection both new and used, all sorted by genre and band name. This is a great place to go browse and see what you can find. They also sell CDs and a few cassettes. I like the prices. Not as cheap as Slackers, but a much better and easier to browse selection. On the other hand, prices are lower than other record stores I have visited.

Talked to the owner about records skipping on our turn table. He took the time to explain why we maybe having problems. Never tried to hard sell us anything. Definitely going back once we upgrade our equipment. (It's not the records, it's the player)

The record store Edwardsville has needed for a long time. Great curated selection of rock / alternative / punk / metal but they have it all! The knowledge & experience in what they are doing is obvious. Welcome in our area is an understatement ! !
