Skipjack Modern Japanese Restaurant

I've been three times now and each time has been excellent.
Service = 5/5 The waiters are courteous and will help you choose food if you ask. They're polite and serve well.
Food = 5/5 The sushi has been great each time I've gone. I've had Spicy Salmon rolls, Mackerel Roll, and the King Kong roll. Each have been great. I also had Nigiri. It was all tasty and fresh. I would recommend coming here. Since they're new, it seems like it's not as busy as it should be but the food is definitely worth it.

I had the King Kong roll and hot date to drink and it was amazing. The atmosphere really is modern as their name suggests, and is a nice quiet space to have dinner with friends. It's a little on the pricey side but not outrageous. It's quality food, so I felt I got my money's worth. I love ramen as well so I will be back.

Angie who served us. She is the best server and very professional. We stopped in for dinner and the food was all amazing! All organic never frozen fish. Great sauces paired perfectly with each entree. Will be coming back. Worth the visit!

This place is great - highly recommended. The lunch specials are an incredible value - tons of food, and a great price. The owner is very nice. The service is quick and friendly. The food is delicious. I had 3 sushi rolls, and all were fresh and tasty. Others at my table had the Teriyaki Chicken Lunch special and the Sea Bass lunch special - both guests really enjoyed their meals. I'll definitely be eating here again.

Awesome menu. Simple but gorgeous ambiance. We had the salmon entree. It was delicious....smokey good amount of mixed veggies. Comes with soup and salad. The mackerel sashimi was better than most. Great selection of classic and unique rolls. Very nice and quick service.

Skipjack is fabulous!! The BEST fried rice - very fresh, very generous portions of chicken - literally the best chicken fried rice on the north shore. Their teriyaki is delicious as are all of their rolls. The skipjack spring roll is awesome too. Service and staff are kind, attentive, and friendly. Highly recommend!

This sleek, modern spot is welcoming from the moment you walk in. An extensive menu contains all kinds of entrees as well as creative rolls. The black dragon roll was superb. The side salad had an excellent ginger dressing. The Chirashi bowl was enough for two people and the variety of fresh fish and veggies was amazing and delicious. It was also presented beautifully. Only comment was they need to find another container for the miso soup to go, as the little container was only three quarters full, so not much there. Nice sushi bar and also a cocktail bar by two large screen TVs.

Excellent restaurant! It’s currently my favorite sushi spot in all of the North Suburbs. The staff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable, they are a great resource if you have questions about a dish or it’s ingredients. The dishes at Skipjack are made with very fresh ingredients, and the food is almost as beautiful as it is delicious. Skipjack offers excellent, high quality sushi at an affordable price point. At other sushi restaurants in the area, I typically spend about $30 more on my meal than what I spend at Skipjack. The beautiful atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for dinner with friends or date night with a loved one. Their patio and bar will be some of my frequent summer spots. They also offer carry out if you’re looking to take something fresh for lunch or dinner to go! I highly recommend the Asparagus Beef Roll, Miso Soup, Tempura Udon Soup, Rainbow Roll, the Fresh Maki, and the Black Pearl roll — but truly whatever you order will be delicious. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!

Great service, very fresh delicious food

Great people! Super friendly service and great food! We live right next to this place and we are glad they are here! We order or eat in twice a week. This is a hidden gem in Glenview. Worth the trip to eat here. Tip: The deserts are also amazing!

Lovely place to bring your family. Food is delicious. Inside scenery is very comforting. Love the Japanese style tables and booth. Awesome sushi and many more to choose from. My favorite is maki moto plate. Workers are very kind and helpful , definitely when come to ordering what you want to eat.. lol

Everything is amazing all their rolls are the best I’ve ever had! The service is also fast and good. Our waitress was insanely nice and super helpful answering tons of questions and she recommended a Smokey salmon roll INCREDIBLE!

Outstanding sushi! Service was great and the inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Definitely my new go-to sushi place in Glenview. Spicy salmon roll is a must!

When l came to SkipJack, l was amazed at just how out of this world all of the food was. For starters, everything is organic, yes organic and imported from Japan using the finest ingredients, (not an exaggeration).

From my fist bite, you had my full attention and the experience only got better throughout the course of the meal.
The Salad dressing was so tasty, I literally wanted to take some home. Then l had the Miso soup which was extraordinary, followed up with 2 wonderful sushi rolls which words just can't describe, topped off with a dessert that was full of flavor and easy on the stomach
You will want to come back soonand often!

Billy and Angela are quality individuals and make you feel welcome. Everything about Skipjack is upscale yet affordable. Fresh Chu-Toro and Hon-Toro. Creative rolls - Try the Holy Crab! just a great experience and I can't wait to go back when we are allowed to!
