Bob Chinn's Crab House

Fresh, flavorful seafood! Large portions, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I had the coconut jumbo shrimp and they were massive. I really liked that the breading on the outside wasn't super thick. The dipping sauce for the shrimp was super good as well. We had the oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer and Bob's Luau cake for dessert. We don't usually get dessert but since we had driven all the way out to the suburbs to eat here I figured we might as well. I'm so glad we did because it was the fluffiest cake I have ever eaten and the frosting was a type of Hawaiian coconut pudding, definitely try it if you're not too full for dessert!

Love this place. I have shellfish allergy but never afraid to eat here. They are very careful for no cross contamination. Lucky I am not so allergic that my husband can enjoy it. In past I was told the french fries could not be guaranteed safe but they said they have improved and now I can enjoy fries too. Join the club so nice on your birthday (which I just collected). Besides 25% off you get awesome desert (they best strawberry shortcake ever). Also my new favorite fish is Opakapaka!

Bob Chinns was such a delicious option for a double date night! I got the calamari as an appetizer and the portion was outstanding. My main dish was the king crab cabanara pasta and it was very flavorful and the portion was enough for the next day. The service was beyond my expectations, thanks to our wonderful server Alex and made it that much more fun! We cannot wait to go back for future date nights!

I recently dined at Bob Chinn's restaurant and I have to say, the seafood was absolutely amazing. The snow crab legs were definitely the highlight of the meal. Every bite was incredibly flavorful. I highly recommend Bob Chinn's for anyone who loves seafood. It's definitely worth a visit for the delicious dishes and friendly service.

First time going to Bob Chinn's had a wonderful time with colleagues with delicious sea food and cocktails. Great ambience, amazing service and what a wonderful atmosphere to be. The service is so good overall a good restaurant for celebrations.

This is an experience not to be missed. Not only is the food fantastic, the but the service is is over and above so many establishments. The crab of course is sweet, tender, perfectly cooked, as is most menu items. The Mai Tais strike the perfect balance and are sweet but but cloying; they help cut through the rich food. This is my favorite to visit during my birthday month. Having lived on both coasts, one of my favorite sea food restaurants in the county. The rolls swimming in herby garlic butterare are so perfect that it is hard to leave room for the meal. Chef's kiss!

Great food and service. We had 6:30 reservations and we're seated quickly. I had jumbo coconut shrimp and my son had spicy peel and eat shrimp. the sticky rice, fried rice and Cole slaw. I had the salad bar and we ordered calamari. We split a key lime pie. (Very tart) All were delicious.

Back in 2012 named by Forbes as the highest grossing restaurant in the country with $24 in sales not including alcohol. Items to choose from. Had their Kona crab here for the first time years ago. Wow! Last time we came here for lunch and had to have our favs of steamed fish (Chinese-style), and crab with vermicelli. Their butter-slathered garlic rolls are to die for. And don't forget the dessert offerings, especially the specialty ones like the slice of paradise made with Okinawa sweet potatoes and Bob's luaua cake. If you love fresh seafood or just a great meal, u must try it at least once. Heard their steaks are also a fav too.

So we were really hungry and we decided to go here and guess what, we loved it. Service is too good, the ambiance is very timeless. TINA was our server and she walked ys throughout the menu in a beautiful way. We got the garlic bread, the crab cake, i got the jumbo shrimp and the other 2 dishes I don’t remember the name. Am going here again and again i guess from now on. Staff is very welcoming and very sweet. Checkout the pictures.

This place is the best. I didn't really get it when it opened in the mid 80s. However, I figured it out. It's a Hawaiian restaurant with Chinese roots. Only fresh seafood. Great recipes. A casual atmosphere. I'd probably play more festive, Hawaiian, reggae, tropical music to enhance the great food. WORTH IT.

1st time visiting this restaurant and it was definitely good. On the picture you will see 3 Mai Tai (their #1 drink) and 2 cooper salmon (sockeye, limited time) , stuff basa, and crab vermicelli. All the food was good. My only complaint was they didn’t offer anything to help with the super strong garlic taste from the rolls. The rolls were super good and fresh but we did have to take off the garlic. 10/10 I would recommend.

Service was very fast and polite! The food was delicious, the appetizers came out pretty fast, and the entrees took a little bit, but that was to be expected because there were so many people. I enjoyed the whole experience, they were great.

Service is spectacular! Ryan was our server and he couldn't have been more attentive. I had the halibut and blue crab claws, both exceptional. Portions are huge and the food flavor is awesome. Love this place!

I have always loved this place! The Mai Tai is my go-to drink! The food is fresh and delicious!

12/30/23 Brought my cousin here on our most recent visit to celebrate his 40th birthday along with my uncle and nephew. We had another fantastic experience! Service, value, and food quality are consistently exceptional. Arrived early for our Saturday night (holiday) reservations and hostess was happy to adjust our time and easily accommodated our early arrival.

Our server Nichol C was genuinely engaged with our group and helped guide us through the menu to help insure our absolute satisfaction- her suggestions were spot on. Her support team was prompt, timely, and friendly as they assisted dinner service.

Drove about an hour and nearly 60 miles each way to dine here and would do it again in a heartbeat. Can hardly wait to come back.

Wow this place bring back memories. I used to come here all the time long time for their Mai Tai and kona crab. So many years later, I was craving some fresh seafood so we decided to come here again. The Mai Tai is as good as I remember it. Of course, some of their menu has changed a lot since then. I know they change their menu and prices daily/weekly depending on what they caught fresh that week. The beautiful interior stays like a time capsule, almost the same since I remember them. Service never disappoints. This time, we had Lucianos as our server. He is amazing! He explained the menu to us, and brought us a crab platter so we could visualize how big things were or about the difference all the crabs they have on the menu were. We ended up ordering clam chowders and fresh oysters as our starters and King Crab legs, King Crabs bites, Bacon Scallop and North Atlantic Scallops as our entrees. We devoured all of them happily since they were all delicious. And of course we couldn’t end our meal without Bob’s paradise Pie and chocolate chips cheesecake, the perfect ending for our meal.
Bottom line, although their seafood is fresh and everything was so enjoyable, the price might unfortunately keep us from coming back here. I know the market price for all this is expensive, so nothing against Bob Chinn. So if anything, we’d probably come and visit again if we wanted to splurge, but not for a regular night out.
Oh and I might come for their fresh oyster (fresh and good price!) and of course Mai Tai!

We drove up from Chicago to give this gem a shot. Wow! Love the menu and the amazing service. Loves it Soo much that we stayed over night and had lunch again her the next day.

My wife has a restricted salt diet an Ryan made sure her fish came out perfectly. Moreover, most restaurants when you tell them no salt will send out a bland menu item. The chef here actually added paprika to the fish and my wife loved it!! I like to see institutions like Bob Chinns thrive. We will be back!

I visit Bob Chinn’s every year on my birthday for the delicious King Crab Leg dinner! The food is very tasty and you get more than enough! The staff is very friendly and the service great!

Amazing place, came here from Michigan, had Janeen as our waitress both times we visited, she is truly amazing and super chill, will always ask for her and will make it a point to visit here Everytime we are in Illinois. Food is amazing, wish we had one of these in Michigan.💙💙💙💙
