Whitmore Lake Preserve

About a three mile walk through woods, fields and near a small lake. Lots of wildflowers in the field. Well marked trails, some of which are used for cross country skiing in winter. We really enjoyed the variety, the beauty and several little surprises along the paths as shown in the photos. We were the only ones there on a Wednesday afternoon.

Nice walk in the woods after getting take-out from Capt. Joe's. Thoroughly enjoyed it and was pleased to see a mini-library there.

A gem of a preserve. The little free library at the top is priceless with the stumps for reading, snacking or pondering.

Beautiful variety of landscapes throughout this 2.6 mile loop near Whitmore Lake. Walked around sunset and saw around 25 - 30 deer. Will be back again soon.

My husband's family used to own this property before it was sold to the county. Beautiful trails, quiet and peaceful. There is a little free library back there too. It's a great choice for walking any time of year, but be prepared for hills and rocks.

Good place for a small hike.

Always so peaceful. Just wish the trail markers matched the map. I tend to spend a lot of time going in circles.

Beautiful! Unpaved but still easy to follow trails thru pastures, woodlands and wetlands. So much nature! Great time with our kid!

Fun hike with my boys. We got muddy saw lots of nature and just had an enjoyable time. I highly suggest you take a walk here someday soon.
