The Bird and The Bear Cafe

Stopped in to try some goodies. The lady who helped us asked if we wanted lunch first and we declined. We ordered a couple fudge brownies, a peanut butter brownie, a cinnamon roll, a sprinkle donut, and a coffee cake muffin. Our kids all chose something and they certainly enjoyed their treats! I got the brownie and peanut butter brownie, and both were delicious. My husband got the muffin and thought it was very good as well. We’ll be back for sure and service was nice. It was a bit dark inside, only relying on the lights from the windows, I would have more indoor lighting for ambiance. We ended up taking our goodies to go to eat at home after we ate lunch.

Really nice Diner, great for a home cooked breakfast any day of the week! Fantastic friendly service with a smile and warm filling food prepared quickly for a dine in or take out! Enjoy their lovely pastries and baked goods with your morning coffee or stop in for a super lunch sandwich! Limited indoor seating with overflow seating on covered porch! Got to Roscommon early. Thought I'd kill time at local McDonald's. This Cafe was in route. Made a u-turn to try it. Cought between Breakfast and Lunch time.
But they have a pastry counter "to die for". Ordered two items, different. As stated above.

This place is absolutely adorable! We ordered the biscuits and gravy with some over easy eggs and some assorted pastries. It was affordable, good portion sizes, and tasted really great. The staff is friendly and in addition to good food it was a fun and positive experience. I ordered my breakfast, picked out pastries from the case, and looked around the shop while I waited for my food. It was only a 5 minute drive for South Higgins state park.

Edit: went back for more! We got the country omelette, another coffee, and some more pastries (remembered to take a picture this time). So good!

Stopped in this morning to grab some quick pastries. So many options I had trouble choosing. Was delighted to see cherry turnovers as theyre my husband's favorite he said it's delicious! I tried the peanut butter crisp coffee and it is SO good! I would come back just for that. The lady at the front was very nice too.

Amazing place! When we come up to our family cabin, visiting Bird & the Bear is a true highlight for sure! Fresh, local ingredients and very warm and welcoming owners and staff! Keep up the great work!!! 💯

Every village, town or city has that one special place, the warm fuzzy kinda place that just says “ you are welcomed here”, and that is the Bird and the Bear. Maybe it is their willingness to have gluten free food, maybe it is their salads or out of this world baked goods, maybe it is their amazing staff ( counter help, owner or dishwasher), but whatever it is, it keeps you coming back for more. From the moment you walk into the shop and are overtaken by the aroma of sweetness, followed by smiles by all of the staff and your journey is rounded out by a genuine thank you and appreciation for your patronage, you know you have found your newest happy place!

Stop the car and grab one of the best meals you're going to have this month. Less than 10 minutes from the I-75 exit, The bird and the bee offers excellent donuts and muffins along with breakfast and lunch options that will blow your mind. Ideally located on the east side of Higgins Lake, this is one of those Northern Michigan treasures you'll want to make part of the family tradition. Arrive early before the baked goods go away and make a great start to the day. Ample parking, easy access, comfortable seating for families this place has it all. The front market has a fine selection of local goods and delicious options that you can take home and use in the kitchen. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and lunch and the best cup of coffee you will find in the Northwoods.

Great little place in the Higgins Lake area to get a nice good meal at a great price. They also sell local and state brand items.

This place was absolutely AMAZING! We got several baked goods and coffee to go and everything was just incredibly delicious! This is a must stop for anyone in the area! We will definitely be back.

Awesome little Café. Salad was awesome and their grab and go was exceptionally fresh.

Just had their turkey melt. Amazing, and packed with flavor. Normally a tuna melt was our go too, but now we have a new favorite. Also their raspberry filled donuts are to die for. But don't buy them all, save some for the rest of us. Better then a birthday cake.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Friendly staff, even when it is close to closing time. Would give them 10 stars if I could. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤10 hearts instead! I love this place.

The donuts are amazing! They do have new summer hours and are closed Monday and Tuesday. Definitely the go to place for early morning donuts!

Their bread is wonderful along with everything else I have tried here!

Stopped for breakfast, had the country omelette and biscuits and gravy, both were awesome! Had to order a side of eggs and bacon for the kid, it wasn't on the menu as a meal. Doughnuts looked good, bought some for later. Loved looking around at the merchandise too, lots of good stuff.

Get there early! Their delicious donuts are very popular and sell out if you wait too late. Grab and go sandwiches are perfect for a relaxing day on the lake or river. We take them along when we are paddling.👍👍👍

We LOVE this place!! The breakfast burrito is INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend! Nancy & the rest of the staff is so welcoming and amazing.

The owner of the Driftwood Resort told us about The Bird and the Bear Grill, so we decided to check it out. I am so glad we did. The food was great as was the friendliness of the owners. Nancy was wonderful. She greeted us like we were family. It felt like being in someones kitchen. Some cute and unique items for sale, including ground coffee with the flavor of the day. We will certainly come back when we get this way again next January. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Have been here many times over the last year or so, the level of freshness blows me away each time. Owners are very friendly and they offer great products in their market. My favorite meal is the Mitt Muffin. So good!
