We rented a Jacuzzi suite for our 30th anniversary. Nice room and spacious Jacuzzi. Nice big tv and just a short trip downstairs for a great dining experience! Downside - finger prints on the sliding door, dresser had a lot of dust, cob webs in the corners of the ceiling and the toilet seat is about ready to fall off. Not what I would expect for $250 a night.

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel we stayed at so we decided we would try it. Our dinner was amazing. We did not stay here but are planning a family trip here soon

The Lakeside Bar & Grille is one of our favorite places to eat in the area. We highly suggest the Pastas. My go to is the Crispy Chicken Mac N Cheese, while my wife usually gets the Shrimp & Chicken Piccata. For an appetizer, the Monte Pickles are unique and hard to beat. The food is absolutely delicious, and has been very consistent.

Clean hotel, awesome breakfast that's included 😋 kids loved the waterpark! Also 2 hot tubs make it nice for the adults to enjoy as well.

Attentive, polite. Just “enough” attention, but not too much it’s a drag. Staff are helpful and do it with a smile.
Being a local it’s an added bonus there’s an indoor water park. We all know how Michigan winters can be!
We just rent a room and drop the kids off at the pool. Send a couple pizzas up to their room, while we slip off for a little ‘alone’ time.., ahhh. I kid. 😁
The kids drop ‘us’ off, and we hang in the pool. Last time we did that, the family dog wound up at the vet with porcupine quills in his butt. The family suburban was impounded in another state,…. We’re still trying to figure that one out. …, and, here I go again. Getting off the beaten path, ‘as they say’,,,.
Truth is……, We loovee the spot. 😊 Kids and adults alike! In fact, I think it’s the only place where Addy can get her pull tabs, Tommy isn’t punching Johnny, and the old lady can slip her drink poolside in her red-solo-cup.

During summer hours, catch live music on the weekends, and a drum circle on the beach, last Sunday of every month. ‘Weather permitting’.

We had gone to the indoor water park. My family with 2 adults and 3 kids age range from 3 to 14. We all had a blast. The water was clean and is well maintained. It didn't smell of chlorine at all. That's a good sign! The slide was my two older kids favorite part. My wife really liked the lazy river and the jacuzzi. My son who is 3 liked the splash pad. The staff was awesome and was very nice. We live about 50 miles away and drove here specifically for the water park. We will return!

We took 5 little kids and 2 adults and did a 1 night stay here. We loved it and will be back. Service was very friendly. Water temp in water play area was perfect. I recommend flip flops due to the water park area getting dirty from people wearing shoes all over in the area. Kids loved playing at the water park and it was perfect for our age range of 3 to 7 year olds. Our room was clean and everything worked properly. Kids loved the bunk beds! Breakfast was good. We were able to check in early which we took advantage of. Convenient loading and unloading and parking. We ordered dinner from the attached restaurant and it was done in 20 minutes. The wings were yummy and huge. The pizza was good too! With 5 kids in tow we were all able to enjoy this little day trip and look forward to visiting again.

I didn't have a room when I went there. I went there for the open swim at their little water park inside of the hotel. The waterpark was nice. A few different things you could do which definitely dispersed the crowd of people. The waterslide is simple but really fun. The open swim is VERY affordable. Only 15 per person for a whole day of swimming. The service was alright. Had to wait a bit to initially pay and grab the bracelets. The pool and lazy river are fun additions to just relax in. There's even a small pool with a little fountain the kids can play at.

I took my little girl there with a playgroup and we had an absolutely blast. Not crowded, and plenty to do. Nice Big hot tub, small hot tub(cold), small lazy River, pool, a walk in splash area and lastly a big red water slide that leads into another pool. Super fun and will be returning with the whole family. ❤

We absolutely love it here. Everything is clean and comfortable, the restaurant is delicious and the Waterpark and arcade are perfect for my young kids when we can't be on the lake. Highly recommend.

Only went to the restaurant. Staff was amazing food was quality and affordable. Fish sandwich was very filling and well cooked .

Stayed from Friday to Sunday for my son's 11th birthday, got a room right by the water park. Utilize the water park all weekend long, had a great time, was able to bring our little dog for an extra fee. Very friendly staff. My kids had a great time at the water park, and even made friends. Continental breakfast was very good with healthy choices.

I think the best thing about this restaurant was the service! We had Diane as our server and the food was amazing, service was fast, and I couldn’t recommend this place more. Ask for Diane as your waitress. You won’t regret it!! 10/10

We got married here last weekend and I have to say it was way better than expected. Every employee there was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The food in the restaurant for rehearsal dinner was really good as well as our dinner for the wedding. Thank you to Brooklyn for doing an amazing job. All of my friends and family had a great time and loved the resort. We will definitely be back.

Great little gem of a resort! Staff was very kind and helpful. The little water park was pleasant fun for the children. Now comes the true diamond in the rough the restaurant was phenomenal!!! Not only was the staff extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes they were friendly and punctual about refreshing drinks and taking plates. The food was stellar!!! One of the best burgers I've ever had with a house made sauce. If your coming to visit houghton lake I very much so recommend looking into this resort. Especially if your trying to save some money it is very reasonably priced.

I love everything about this hotel and restaurant. The only place to stay in Houghton Lake. The staff is so amazing, hotel is spotless and the food is DELICIOUS every time! The water park and slide is actually a lot of fun! Even if you're an adult. :P The view is beautiful! I definitely recommend getting the lake view rooms. Watching the sun rise and set every day is so peaceful. The feel of the hotel has the up north yet elegant touch.

The restaurant has the BEST food. It's better than restaurants in the city. Very reasonably priced too. It's on the water and they keep it very clean. The whole staff had a smile on their face the entire time.

On Friday, I had to wait about 10 minutes to be sat but the hostess promptly led me to the bar for a drink before and suggested I waited in the attached room with the pool table, which I did. It was perfect timing for me to have a pre dinner drink and a game of pool.

I can't think of anything negative to write. There was a lot goose poop on the grass and sidewalk in the early morning when I took my dogs out; but by 8 am the groundskeeper cleaned it ALL up.

I will definitely be back again. It is now my go-to getaway. :)

The rooms were clean and spacious. The waterpark area was perfect for the ages we had. However it got so busy that day that we couldn't really enjoy ourselves. Lots of people with these wristbands? The pool area wasn't as clean as I'd of liked, people with shoes and boots tracking in slush and salt. Overall though we had a great weekend and we will return because of the convenient location and the waterpark.
