MJ's Eatery

On our way to the U.P. and wanted to stop for breakfast and found this place. Not too far from the highway which made it convenient. We ordered omelets, which were very tasty. I had the veggie that had broccoli that I've never thought to put it in an omelet but it was very good. Very friendly service. If you get a chance stop in, would recommend.

Always great service. Food comes fast and always has a WOW factor. Sometimes we have to wait for a table, but it's never a long wait. The food is amazing and at a great price. Even when this place is full, it is never crowded. Lots of space around tables. Wheel chairs can easily access every part of this restaurant. It's a definite must go to restaurant in Houghton Lake.

Perfect breakfast, and worth the wait! This is a small space, and the food and service are awesome, so it seems like they might always have a wait. It went pretty quickly for us, and the food was just what we were looking for late on a Sunday morning.

We had a country breakfast, veggie omelet, and a side of biscuits and gravy. Eggs were cooked perfectly, both over easy and in the omelet (I'm not a fan of burnt or rubbery over-cooked eggs in an omelet). Hash browns were crispy and fresh, and the rye toast was thick, and super-tasty like homemade or bakery style.

Biscuits were served open-faced and grilled, so they were warm, buttery, and toasty which was perfect for the traditional sausage gravy. Wonderful comfort food experience, and we highly recommend!!!

WONDERFUL place! Very happy we stopped here. I would recommend trying to grab traffic's attention a little better, i thought it was a car dealership passing by the first time (obviously an old wendys!). The wait wasn't horrible, but they only have so much seating to work with. Staff was very friendly. The food was GREAT. Even simple, basic stuff like potatoes were done very well and with a nice spice. I had the #7 - country fried steak, hashbrowns and eggs. Everything was wonderful. Prices were surprisingly reasonable for being in Houghton Lake. I'll absolutely go there again when around the area.

Great place to eat. It stays busy all the time so can be hard to get a table sometimes. But the food is worth the wait.

All the food has always been and still is so delicious. The service and servers are prompt, helpful, and polite. The food is served it the expected amount of time, even when busy. The pancakes are sooo good! Multiple breakfast meat options. Highly recommend!

One of the newest best restaurants in town. We love visiting here from down state with my family. Haven't had anything i didn't like yet.

Amazing breakfast!
Great food, I love how the bread on the breakfast sandwich was buttery and then grilled. The eggs were perfect, and the coffee was great, too! Clean, friendly, super fast.

We were greeted by friendly staff who were having a good time while being at work on a Monday morning. Besides the friendly staff and very tidy restaurant, the food was amazing!!!

We have never had a problem with are order, even with my severe Onion Allergy.
We Drive an Hour each way, to visit..

Honestly
We have never had a bad meal, let alone a Ok Meal.

You can't go wrong eating here..

If your eat elsewhere its a mistake!!!!!!!

The menu is small but the food was great. The Ruben was worth the price.

Excellent food. Reuben burger was excellent. Onion rings were great, were very large and appeared to be hand cut. Also had a grilled club and cod which were also very good. Service was on point. Good local restaurant that deserves support.

Corned beef hash is the best. I. Get as a side dish. When they first opened proprtion size was more. Wish they would go back to it. Now they serve smaller non side dish size. They are still missing tables removed from covid. So, wait time is longer due to missing tables.

Bring back tables.

Great experience at MJ’s last Sunday. Place was busy but we were seating quickly. Service was exceptional. They were kind to our kids. Our server (Mikey?) was great. They got my hash browns crispy just like I like them. One thing that was a little weird, the omelet fixings (bacon, cheese) was on top of the omelet? Oh well, still great.

No matter what you choose to eat, you will not regret it..and you won't walk away hungry... The country fried steak and gravy is the bomb... And the stuffed biscuits with gravy were really good to... Apple pancakes were do big.. My 92 year old mother-in-law couldn't finish them..

Great spot to get some tasty breakfast. Hearty portions, so bring a big appetite. The corned beef hash skillet is homemade and absolutely delicious. We had a large party, and they were very accommodating. Friendly service and laid back atmosphere. Everyone was just as pleasant as can be.

Good food and big portions, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Biscuits and gravy are fantastic.
