Sleepy Monk Coffee Roasters

We enjoyed our Sleepy Monk experience.
We had mochas, a breakfast muffin, and a bagel. We appreciated the mochas, and they were extra nice with chocolate whipcream.
All the pastries all looked great, and the ones we shared were very good. The baked goods are made on site. The Sleepy Monk coffee is fantastic. The atmosphere is perfect. The staff were focused and fast. At busy times, there can be a line. We were there at 8:00 am at opening on Saturday.
It's worth any wait.

Had tried this in Seaside at Bagel by the Sea, and since we were heading south anyway, we figured we'd stop and try it from the source! Parking wasn't an issue, and when we arrived there was a five minute wait from the line. We appreciate a wait because it clearly shows popularity.

We got two bags of decaf coffee and then got the Druid's Delight and a Decaf Monastery Maddness. Drinks did not disappoint - honestly the best decaf we've found so far out of dozens of coffee spots.

This is a 6 star coffee roaster. You're doing yourself a disservice if you're in the area and skip Sleepy Monk.

Delicious coffee and wonderful people, they showed me incredible kindness when I visited this coffee shop and gave me the most wonderful impression of the area, let alone the coffee shop itself. 6 stars, 11 out of 10, couldn’t recommend enough!

We stopped by on our way down the 101 on a whim after enjoying some of their bagged coffee we nabbed at the Astoria Co+Op. Right off the bat, I knew I had to grab a drink made in house after seeing the long line out the door. The line moved quickly as it's the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbor! They were unfortunately sold out of their scones (well, most of their food offerings) by the time I made it to the counter but purchased a slice of chai oat bread and an almond milk latté. The folks working the counter were super friendly.

Once you place your order, you'll need to hang close to the window immediately outside and to the left and listen for your name. Lots of drinks stacked up because folks weren't paying much attention. The staff hustles here!

My husband stopped drinking coffee because it always gave him heartburn. He loves coffee. So, when I started having the Monestary blend mailed to Idaho, he tried it, and thankfully, he is now enjoying coffee again with no heartburn issues!

I absolutely love this blend and will continue to have it shipped! I'm a triple espresso type of person. I like strong coffee. This blend is definitely strong, yet smooth. I drink it black and sometimes with heavy cream. Either way, it is delicious.

I have been coming to Sleepy Monk for 19 years.

It is the best Latte on the coast. Period. No competition.

Sleepy Monk Coffee has the best coffee on the coast nice employees fresh baked pastries and the environment is all right and I mean that in an all right way as in five stars when we pulled into the parking lot in the morning there was a herd of elk in our parking spot pretty cool to see in the morning before coffee thank you guys very much and we will be back

Coffee was really good and balanced. There was a long queue but fast moving.

Hands down the best coffee ever. This is a comfy little coffee shop located in Cannon Beach Oregon. I always make a point of stopping by to grab a cup. Currently they are not allowing indoor seating. I suspect because of COVID-19. make sure you get there before 3PM, closing time. I drive from Portland and have bit by the closing time. But not to worry you can order online as well!

What an amazing experience. This is a high quality organic coffee roaster. There is a plethora of coffee selections with really fancy drink options. I had the Americano so I can taste the coffee, an boy is it delicious. Talked to people in line who drive from afar to buy the coffee. Had to get a bag, can’t wait!

The must-visit coffee place on the Oregon coast. Typically there is always a line here (for very good reasons), but it moves quickly. Note that they close at 3pm, so get your afternoon caffeine kick early. For non-milk options they have almond and soy (no oat). And don't forget to try the humongous chocolate chip cookies.

Everything about it is very good, but for us mostly forgettable. The almond croissant was great!
What good is the turkey sausage all in the center? Why bring out pastries 15 minutes before the coffee?

I go here when I visit Cannon Beach. Good coffee. Great pastries and cookies. The original owners had a similar shop in Redmond, Washington. They have since retired. The current owners are great.
You can also buy roasted beans here that are excellent as well.
My husband recommends the lemon curd biscuit (pictured).
I recommend the snickerdoodle cookie.

This little jem has a crazy cool vibe, awesome staff and delicious baking. The espresso they roast and use is sweet, chocolatey and finishes with a fruit hit. I’m not sure what kind of manic they use, but I am haunted by the deliciousness of the americano I tasted. If you are anywhere near Cannon beach, it’s in your mouths beat interest to stop here. 👍

Love love love this place. It’s always a must stop during our visits to the coast. Incredible coffee, we stock up on their amazing coffee beans to take home, love the owners and staff are always super friendly.

Great little coffe shop. Everyone I talked to was so nice. Early morning fog made for a real cozy atmosphere. There was a line out the door but totally worth the short wait. I brought 2 ponds of coffe back to Chicago. Can't wait to visit again. Great cup while you walk the beach. Lovely place

Amazing coffee and tasty treats. The orange chocolate scone is to die for. Will definitely make a return trip. Found a bit of a line on a Saturday morning but it was not a long wait. The staff was great and courteous.

Sleepy Monk is always a priority stop when we go to Cannon Beach. We have perfected our 2 day stay to get there as many times as possible before they close at 3. Sad is the day we get carried away shopping and miss our 2nd-stop-of-the-day-coffee. The most flavorful coffee in Cannon Beach, with almost shockingly-good customer service! Sincerely thanked for any tip you leave, addressing you by your first name! Go twice and your name is REMEMBERED! This family-owned and run coffee shop (with amazing pastries, including vegan options) is a gem. But, not a hidden one, as witnessed by the long morning lines. Have patience with your wait, because your stop will be unparalleled!

Owner of nearby shop let us know about Sleepy Monk’s being the best in town, and possibly across the state. It’s a sweet little coffee shop, not a lot of room to just hangout- at least when we were there. But that’s only because there was a line out the door, because the coffee must be that good. We bought drip coffee & really enjoyed it. We also took some beans home to enjoy. Do yourself a favor- grab a cup and hit the beach to take in the views.
