We had an incredible experience for our group! The house and property are very clean and the indoor & outdoor amenities are amazing! We loved the home theater and the pinball machines. The adventure trails and firepits were very cool in the back. We held team building discussions by the campfire and then told scary stories while making hot dogs and smores. Anyone will be well entertained from a company retreat/team building event, girlfriends getaway or a small wedding. The wine tour they did was perfect for our group too. Great communication with staff from start to finish. I highly recommend the Celebration Retreat. We will be back.

I hosted a birthday party over the weekend here, and my friends and I all had a blast! We loved the game room as well as the theater room! All staff was friendly and quickly responded to all of my questions. People complaining about pricing clearly didn't read through all of the provided paperwork!

This place is jam packed with different activities to keep you busy between team building sessions. Between the game room with pool table, shuffleboard, pin-ball machines, a THX theater, outdoor paths, hot-tub and fire pit there is something for everyone.

Additionally there are a number of expensive pieces of artwork on display so I would not recommend bringing anyone that is rambunctious like little kids.

There is however the before mentioned nickel and dime nature of the other items. However it was primarily in regards to the notoriety of Tareq Salahi and his various accomplishments as Polo Champ and his philanthropic work with his winery. So while it is a bit eclectic it was enjoyable and I don't fault the owners from leveraging that 10 minutes of fame from the Housewives of DC.

Best dinner event experience I have ever been a part of. Elegant, warm. The scenery and view atop Front Royal, Virginia was spectacular. I am looking forward to more experiences in the future.

WONDERFUL house, plenty of beds, yard is gorgeous and has everything for which you could ask. Basement theater is awesome and we played a ton of ping-pong, pool, pinball, and bags.

THE downside is that everything gets a little "nickel and dimey," in that, you're paying extra if you use a propane tank. You're paying extra if you want that candy bar they have sitting in the theater. You're paying extra if you want to use the popcorn machine. You're paying extra if you use the bedroom on the first floor. I've stayed in a lot of airbnb's and this is the first one to ever do that and it just felt ... off. Besides that, the whole place was wonderful.

Goofy place that is starting to get rundown. But good for a weekend away.

I requested a refund from AirBnb because this place is not worth $800/night and they refused. Look at what $800/night gets you:

The problems we experienced were numerous - roaches, almost all windowsills were full of dead stink bugs, most windows were not locked properly, front steps are loose, rear steps that lead to the farm table are loose, most of the light poles along their "lighted pathways" either don't work or are at a severe angle and some are just laying on the ground, both wedding awnings are in terrible shape - one of those lying on the ground, the hot tub has a hole in it, the ping pong table is broken, the front gutter is loose, the pans are disgustingly dirty to the point where many of them can't be used, many of the cabinets are filthy, the couch is broken and falling apart, the unit was not dusted, there were missing towel racks with the mounts still in the wall, broken handles on cabinets, dirty air vents, the "overflow" refrigerator could not be used for overflow as it was full (and it had milk in it from November of 2018 - a liability issue), the main refrigerator had a full top shelf of items left over from past guests and some dates were expired as far back as June 2018, the ice maker worked intermittently, we had poor response times from the technician and the last time we contacted him about the cable not working - he never called us back and just showed up the next day when we were leaving, there are large mounds of litter along the driveway as soon as you pull in, the fountain at the front gate was non functional as well as being trashed, the gate does not close properly, the 4 x 4's along the driveway are damaged, there is what appears to be a large leak at the top of the inside chimney that appears to have mold (could be a liability issue - my mother in law and myself have had a bad cough since we stayed there), there was litter left on the back deck, they have a sign telling you to step down into the hot tub from the back deck - this is another liability issue. You don't find out until you get on property that there is a bear. This is information that should be stated upfront (another liability issue), the landscaping looks awful, the statue/fountain in the rear looks awful, the "billowy" curtains they use to make it look "wedding like" are all either dingy yellow or full of dead stink bugs, there is mold in the main level bathroom, they have signs all over the house (most telling you about an upcharge for the most basic things - use the grill - $30, use any porch heater - $35 each, want to have a bonfire in one of the many advertised fire pits - $30 per bundle of wood - like the $6 ones you can get at the convenience store), at least two of the signs have misspellings, the umbrella on the back deck is fraying and falling apart and we could not get it to open, the slatted door to the den is missing handles and the slats are broken/askew, some air vents are rusted, the wood around the hot tub is off track, the front porch was just dirty overall. I have pictures of most of these items.

Weird experience overall. Not great but not bad. Odd rules for everything. There's monetary amounts attached to everything in the house. So called million dollar sculpture looks like some knockoff piece. Water is from a well so its inconsistent. The property is nice but the neighbors were shooting guns the entire time. Just an overall strange weekend experience.

Do not book this rental! This property should be banned from all rental site. It is fraudulent. VRBO was investigating but failed to take any action. As of 2/22 the property was removed from VRBO.

- After paying a $200 early arrival free, nobody let us into the property (as explained in the arrival instructions) and they didn’t answer our phone calls for several hours. We had to enter through an unlocked back door.
- The property was in disarray. The hot tub was broken, grill and heaters unusable, and patio furniture covered in frozen mud and falling apart.
- The home was infested with bugs. We cleaned stink bugs for hours, but it was a futile effort.
- The well quickly ran out of water, so we couldn’t wash dishes, use the bathroom, or shower. The well didn’t refill for hours despite their claim that it refills in 15 minutes.
- The owners are ‘unavailable’ because they are supposedly on a cruise. The property manager is unresponsive and said the well was not working properly and left after trying to fix the issue.
- The property is decorated as a trap. They have an ugly sculpture on the floor that they claim costs $100,000+ to replace if you break it.
- After we requested a full refund, the owners tried to say we damaged the pool table and shuffleboard (we didn’t). They also tried to charge $950 for a bottle of Fireball and a pack of Corona.

Kiss your security deposit goodbye if you are planning on renting this place. Normally I don’t write reviews but my horrible experience with the owner is making me do it. If I can give negative stars I will. Avoid this place at at any cost. The owner of the property is a greedy $&@#%... Me and my friends rented this property for a weekend and left it the same way it was given to us. The owner never returned our security deposit. Reached out to him multiple times through emails and phone but he never responded. To add to that we had a problem with water supply during our stay. So please avoid it. Save yourself time and money.

WARNING: Celebration Retreat RENT AT OWN RISK. Dirty & Dishonest! I was not overly please with the property itself as it was not clean. Now month after renting their home they have lied about refunding our $2,000 deposit. First they said they mailed my deposit, then 2 months later said they refunded it on paypal. I still don't have a deposit that was due back in February of 2019!

tldr: I understand that reservation issues do come up but deception and irresponsibility of the management at Celebration Retreat are outright insulting. Please avoid this establishment.

Context: Booked the house through Expedia well in-advance (months) for a group coming from all over the country including San Francisco and New York.

The day of our reservation, we drove from the airport with rental cars to the establishment. There was a gate at the entrance to the community that required a code. We never received one. For about 30 minutes we tried all the numbers listed for the business but no one picked up until finally another person who lived in a different house in that community showed up and let us through the first gate. We drove up to the house which was also gated.

Spent another 30 minutes in the freezing cold ringing the bell at the gate. Finally, someone answered and gave us their personal cell number to call. He said he does not see our reservation and demanded Expedia's reservation confirmation. We emailed that to him and called him once again. He said he spoke to Expedia and the reason is our card was declined so he had rented the place to someone else.

At the time, we felt bad for what had happened and began trying different options. The person who had done the booking reached out to Expedia to see why was he never informed about his card being declined. Expedia said your reservation is still confirmed and there should not be any problems. Additionally, they said this was a "Pay Later" booking which meant Expedia never charged the card and the transaction would happen at the time of check-in, so the card being declined was a fabricated story. While we were on the phone, Expedia tried for 30 minutes to reach the establishment to sort out the issue, but they never picked up the phone. Expedia apologized and offered us coupons for our troubles which were frankly too little too late. We ended up booking individual hotel rooms apart from each other and paid a lot more than expected.

The pictures of the house and amenities look amazing and this would have been the perfect break we needed during the holidays. I understand that reservation issues come up, but what is important is how you handle them. At Celebration Retreat, they are evasive, deceptive, and irresponsible. By the way, after 24 hours, Expedia has told us they still have not been able to contact the management. Please avoid at all costs.
