I started seeing this doctor as a result of an insurance change. I have a small number of mild health problems, both physical and mental, which aren’t drastic by any traditional sense, but can and do negatively impact my lifestyle, but can be helped with proper medication and health management.

My first experience with Dr. Yeron involved waiting a half an hour beyond our scheduled time because he was meeting with a pharmaceutical salesman. First red flag.

Second red flag: he changed my blood pressure medications with no discernible reason. My blood pressure shot through the roof, and stayed there for as long as I continued to see him.

Third red flag: he had little interest in any other health issues aside from my blood pressure. He just kept telling me that we’d address the other issues after we got the blood pressure under control. At worst, I ended up under three separate blood pressure medications that weren’t working, and that my insurance didn’t fully cover, so I was paying a lot out of pocket.

Fourth red flag: he routinely loved having casual, personal conversation over medical conversation. I learned quite a bit about him personally… none of which were facts I asked about. He just liked talking about himself. Combined with the fact that his exam room had posters and memes on the walls that revealed his political affiliations (I personally consider it a big no no for political beliefs to be front and center in a doctor’s office, but maybe that’s just me), and it seemed like he was more interested in talking to his patients that actually doing his job.

The final straw: for the first time since starting to see him, I had some concerning illness-related symptoms, and called in for an appointment as soon as one was available. At the appointment, he came in, measured my blood pressure, told me it was too high (again, and despite his medications), and started to do his exit talk telling me to reschedule a month out. I finally broke down and asked him if he knew the reason I came in that day. The deer-in-the-headlights look he gave me before re-entering the room and addressing the actual symptoms of the illness at the time said enough.

Dr. Yeron is competent enough to be a doctor, of that I’m sure. If he wasn’t, I’m sure some medical board would have removed him long ago. However, my year-long experience with him has left me with the impression that he cares little to nothing about his patients, and just wants quick and easy repetitive appointments for which he can be paid. Maybe I’m wrong. I don’t know. But seeing as, within 3 months of seeing a new doctor, I’ve been put back on good blood pressure medication, lost 15 pounds, and have discussions with my new doctor about my health instead of my doctor’s personal life, I think I can confidently say that Dr. Yeron is not the doctor for me. Probably not for anyone, unless you want a doctor who you want some light friendly conversation with. He’s great at that… but not much else medically, if a year is enough time to ascertain whether a doctor is effective or not. And sadly, Dr. Yeron is not.

This place should be shut down, or at least denied any further Medicaid business. All I needed was a refill on my anti-anxiety meds but was rejected as a patient because of a 15-year-old service connected injury. I didn't even know Medicaid docs were allowed to reject patients. Go somewhere else.
