My daughter has had fairly severe environmental allergies since she was young. They have been so great to work with from testing, to allergy shots to keeping an 18 year old on track with her medications. I cannot recommend them enough. I love Dr. Hunter's bedside manor and how straight forward and knowledgeable she is. We've had no issues whatsoever with billing or appointments and I'd recommend this office to anyone seeking diagnosis or treatment with allergies and asthma.

I've had a great experience with this office. I've been doing allergy shots just short of two years now and the staff has been great to me. Dr.Hunter is intellegent and takes time to understand YOUR specific problems. I've created a great relationship with the nurses who make me feel comfortable when I go for injections. If you have problems keeping a schedule with the shots, then you probably shouldn't get injections at this time. This is something you HAVE to commit to and if you're really feeling miserable, you'll do just about anything to make sure you're getting injections ontime, every time. I live 30-40 minutes away and I've been able to keep it up for 2 years. Anyone who has had problems with this office is probably a problem patient themselves.

As someone who doesn't usually take the time to review much of anything, Frederick Asthma and Allergy Center deserves 20 stars. Anyone who gives this incredible practice less than five stars is most certainly reviewing the wrong office, or they have chosen to be non-compliant with the recommendations that they personally sought out. Allergy and asthma conditions are scientifically complex, and if one seeks professional attention but chooses not to comply with the allergist's recommendations, that is completely on them as the patient. If a person uses their time and finances to go to a doctor for the doctor's expertise, but doesn't take their advice and has a negative outcome because of it, that's on the patient- regardless if it has to do with medical topics, paying their bill, or knowing what the office hours are.

I am a healthcare provider, and as such, am extremely particular about whom I choose to care for myself and my children. Dr. Hunter and her exceptional staff constantly go out of their way to ensure that their patients are treated in the most current, evidence-based, safest manner imaginable. Their compassionate, warm personalities stretch for miles in helping their patients with often severe allergy and asthma conditions. Patients who suffer from allergy and asthma conditions in Maryland owe it to themselves to contact Dr. Hunter and her brilliant staff if they wish to finally obtain true relief.

Dr. Muniz is the nicest doctor we meet. He cares about his patients, he is professional and I've seen multiple allergists but none were able to help us like Dr. Muniz did. He treated us like family.

We love Dr. Hunter and recommend her highly. Our son struggled with allergies and asthma for years. Dr. Hunter first got his condition under control and then started with immunotherapy. Now, participates in high school athletics and enjoys being outdoors.

Dr. Hunter has been excellent in identifying my numerous allergy issues and helping to give me advice on dealing with them. Physical and mental stress a key in allergies and she was great in helping me to understand that and the importance of reducing stress.

Dr. Hunter was fine, but there is a lack of communication between the nurses who give the allergy shots and the patients. I was never informed that I needed to stay on a strict schedule for my shots, down to not being able to be one day late on a shot, or the medication would expire. The other problem was the extremely limited hours For a person who works full time, it is very difficult to get to the allergist between 7:00-4:00 and 7:00-10:30am on Fridays. It's just not realistic to expect people to be able to do this.

I had allergies. I agreed to getting tested for everything under the sun, but I knew it would end up === allergies. I got a script for nasal spray, and it worked. But they still wanted me to come in every 30 days or they wouldn't refill. I understand annually, or if something in my condition changed, even semi-annually but every 30 days? When I expressed concern over that, I was told the most they could go to was 60 days. So they expect me to take off work every two months to go in and tell the doctor nothing has changed. Ugh. And, the billing is all paper. I have to mail payment back. Maybe this is being nit picky but convenience aside, do we have to use that paper? So yeah, very inconvenient office with little or no thought to our time and what we deal with time wise.

I liked Dr. Hunter but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place. A few years ago their office flooded (clearly not their fault) and they abruptly had to close for a few months. They never reached out to patients about their closing, and never got in contact when they were open again. Allergy injection serum expires pretty quickly, and your progress is set back when you miss injections. So by the time I became aware they were open again I knew I'd have to eat a lot of money to get back on track. Their website didn't say anything acknowledging this or how they would make it up to their patients.

Since I couldn't continue my maintenance shots, not only have my severe allergy symptoms returned, but this office has now been sending weekly bills to my previous address for an injection they administered 4 YEARS AGO. By the time I received them I had a stack of bills, all over a $13 visit so long ago I can't even verify it.

Obviously the flooding/closure was not their fault and unlikely to happen again, but I really don't appreciate how they've handled these issues and the position they've put their patients in. It ultimately made the care I received there a giant waste of time and money.

I am very disappointed in the customer service of this practice! Dr Hunter seems very professional and competent, but try getting a call back from her staff. Upon my first visit, the front receptionist told me to call with any questions. Ha! I have left 2 voice messages since first being seen there and no calls back. I just tried to call today (over a week after my last voice message) and there is no office voice message even now. I am now out of the sample nasal spray that was given to me and can’t find out what the status is on my insurance preauthorization. Time to find a more helpful allergy practice!!

I should have known better from reading the other bad reviews.

I went to this location and saw Dr. Hunter about a month ago. First, I will say that I DO think that she is knowledgeable in her field, and I did trust her diagnosis. The issues follow:

Toward the end my appointment a month ago, she had her assistant come in to follow up with me about a prescription she was going to have me take. I told the assistant which insurer I use for prescription coverage, and where I would like the prescription filled. She left, returned 10 minutes later, and told me that the prescription would be ready for pickup at some local pharmacy. This made no sense, as I had just told her where I wanted it filled, for insurance purposes, and it wasn’t this local pharmacy. So, I repeated my coverage and pharmacy info again, and asked that the order be corrected. The assistant left and Dr. Hunter came in to speak with me about 10 minutes later. I was shocked when Dr. Hunter had a very obvious attitude with me, and was taking a sharp tone scolding me that the pharmacy which I stated wouldn’t have what she was prescribing. I really did not understand why I was receiving the attitude.

Today, about a month later, I just got a call from her office, from some secretary telling me that I owe 50 dollars because I missed an appointment today. I informed this secretary that I am sure that I told the staff during my last visit that I did not want a follow up appointment scheduled, and that I would call them back to schedule in the future. Honestly, I was debating on returning due to the experience described above. The staff member just stated again that I needed to pay, so I asked to speak to Dr. Hunter. I was put on hold for 5 minutes, then the staff member returned and told me that if I wanted my medical records sent to another doctor, they can do that, but I will be required to pay the 50 dollars. I stated that I would like them to hold off on the payment until Dr. Hunter could call me and I could discuss this with her. The staff member just repeated again that Dr. Hunter said I need to pay. I told them I would be leaving a review recounting all of this and they said fine.

Look, it doesn’t make sense to me to lose patients and get these sort of reviews put out there just so that you can get your fifty dollar fee, but this isn’t my business, it’s Dr. Hunter’s. For what it’s worth, I WAS going to go back and see her, and not leave a negative review despite the attitude and fiasco surrounding the prescription. This late fee business sealed the deal though.

I would go elsewhere for service if I were you.

Went to Dr Hunter in 2019 while I was pregnant she was knowledgeable but very short with me bordering on rude. Missed my follow up the following year (to also get a new epi pen and inhaler) because of postpartum forgetfulness. I scheduled a visit with another allergist for separate testing in 2021 because Dr Hunter was unavailable. Tried going back scheduled time in May 2022 but nurse called me back several times in a two day span asking more than a dozen questions by the direction of Dr. Hunter and ultimately telling me to go back to the other allergist I scheduled with in 2021. Never had this much run around, will never recommend this place to anyone.

NEVER, EVER use Frederick Allergy & Asthma. My husband saw them in October 2016. They have repeatedly sent us bills for $1140, despite our insurance having paid already. They have no billing department, just a message saying the mailbox is shut down and to leave a message at the front desk for the office administrator. Which I have done, multiple times, and never received a call back. Instead, the woman at the front desk tells me each time (with an attitude) that I have to get them proof that the insurance has paid.

Except I don't--the insurance company has already told me more than once that the practice needs to contact their local insurance office. The insurance company has done their job, I've done my job, and Frederick Allergy & Asthma refuses to do theirs, or to communicate at all.

Don't go see them! They were rude when we went there and they're worse now.
