First time ever in a converted church to coffeehouse. So beautiful inside. The painted windows, church seats, and eclectic decoration are awesome. The hospitality, food, coffee ☕ is spectacular

Great atmosphere! Loved this place. It’s kinda like a religious crackerbarrel, you know what I’m saying? It’s got this vibe of cracker barrel with stained glass. The food was pretty good, and they offer gluten free options! Super cute place. Highly recommend.

This place has the best atmosphere among the cafes I've recently visited. It breaks my heart that the old church has been turned into a cafe, but the atmosphere of the church has been preserved and maintained. Everything from the old music, the warm atmosphere, and the taste of the coffee is perfect. It was a cafe that made me feel cozy. I will visit again with my whole family.

A beautiful cafe! My husband and I came here with our two young kids. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, most seats were taken but we found a table upstairs. They have salads, soups, sandwiches, desserts and a small kids menu. We all enjoyed our meals, especially the chili!

My sister, our mutual friend, and I had never been to Brunswick, Maryland, which sits on the banks of the Potomac River, so we thought we'd check it out. We enjoyed walking around the town and finding local crafts to buy. I had already picked Beans in the Belfry for dinner because they offer live music on Friday nights. Reviews said that their food is good. Now, we can say that we agree, after trying their salads, sandwiches, and desserts (including a lava cake with the best chocolate filling I've had). Besides the cafe's cozy interior, what stood out to me is the Beans in the Belfry's commitment to providing space for local musicians, and music lover in general, to do sets on Friday nights, and improvise during open jams on Sundays. They also encourage other groups to use their space (check the Beans in the Belfry website's calendar). On October 13th, the featured Friday night group was the Tone Plus Trio, which includes a guitarist, drummer, and trumpet player. There is a lot of experience and talent in this trio. Their focus is jazz-inspired music, and it sounded to me like they are practiced in improvising. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot than Beans in the Belfry for spending a relaxing evening, enjoying good food, and talented musicians at an incredibly affordable price. We plan to return.

Oh my goodness! What a great & hidden gem this is.

In an old English church that's been converted, this coffee shop oozes charm and personality.
The food is delicious and there are so many flavors of coffee!

You can easily get comfortable and lose yourself for hours in here.

Love this place! Gives off a very 90s whimsigoth vibe. Very wholesome and a great stop for food or caffeine. Lots of families, people reading, or doing crafts while relaxing. Always a stop when I’m in the area!

Located in C&O Canal, this place is one of more unique cafe I've been to. It's an old belfry building converted into cafe space. Stained glass windows around the place adds to its character. Interior was well thought out and use of church pew was a nice touch.

I think their latte was lacking in the foam, but overall the flavor was good. While coffee was just "OK," their sandwich however was amazing. I got their Tuscan and it was simple but very flavorful. I like how they kept it simple.

First time here with my daughter & best friend. Loved the atmosphere & beautiful church features. Was so cool to be surrounded by so much history while enjoying great food. My daughter had just been here with her jeep club & wanted me to experience what a cool place this was! It did not disappoint! We will definitely return & bring other friends along!

A bussin coffee shop whose drip is just right. The coffee is fantastic, but what makes this spot so dank is the fact that it is inhabiting an old (1910) Reformed Church - it's awesome! There is tons of space to chill with friends; a special spot where children play; tables and a chairs in the upper gallery; stained glass windows; suvineers - everything you need for an bomb coffee shop stop.

You won't be disappointed!!!

Amazing spot! The owners Stephanie and Eddie are super friendly! We had afternoon tea on Saturday. The sandwiches and sweets were delicious and the homemade strawberry jam was outstanding! Every detail from food to service and even the music was top notch!

It's an old church turned into a great place to stop for breakfast. It's near the C&O canal and the Marc station. Great selection of coffee, espresso and teas. Will definitely be back.

What a cool experience! The chai latte took me straight to a crisp breeze on a fall day. They had live music that was very fitting and transporting to round out the aesthetic. Will definitely come back—I wanna know more about the breakfast options!

Today was my first time at Beans in the Belfry and it was truly magical. Loved the atmosphere and the unconventional seating arrangements with the layered rugs on the floor really made it for me. Also the Christmas tree was still up which I loved. The staff was super nice and cool peoples. I ordered quiche and a hot chai latte, it was all delicious! I'm sad that I was only visiting for the weekend. If I lived in the area I know this would be a normal hangout spot for me. I will definitely be back again!!
