The Anvil Restaurant

Great pulled pork sandwich, smoked right in front of the restaurant. In fact, I smelled it while driving by and just had to turn around and have lunch here. My waitress Jessie was very pleasant and helpful, and the place is very cozy with ample seating and a nice bar. They actually surprised me with a few non-alcohol beers to choose from. If you're in the area and can't deal with finding a parking spot down the street in the historic section, you can't beat The Anvil (open Thur-Sun, I noticed). They also have PLENTY of parking.

The service was very good.. the food was very good. We had 2 of the specials one was cheese raviolis with sausage spinach mushrooms beans and peppers sauce ...the other was a steak topped with crab ceviche both meals came with salads. The steak came with mashed potatoes and green beans. We both had soup he had french onion and I had the tortilla soup . I also had dessert which was strawberry short cake layer in the evening. My drink was an Italian martini. It was a great evening out with fantastic food

Had a great time at this family friendly place. Honestly found it because of the smoker out front and enjoyed the smoked mac and cheese and the smoked chicken and kielbasa. The pulled pork and other food items were tasty.

The place has great A/C and a full bar and seems like the kind of place you want to see start happy hour around 3pm, sit on the porch and enjoy the rest of the night.

Old time feel without any of the negatives. Bathrooms and tables and things were all very clean. Staff was friendly and one of them is a Jeeper (like me).

Plenty of off street parking. We were warned by a friendly neighbor that the local cops are sticklers for tickets around fire hydrants.

Go here for some friendly atmosphere (games playing on the TVs) and good fresh food and you’ll leave with a smile!

I got the half rack ribs with Mac and cheese and French fries. Everything was delicious, the restaurant has a really cool vintage vibe to it. Great customer service by all who work here! If your in the eastern panhandle, it’s a must stop for great BBQ.

So the place itself is like a toss between a historic and sports bar. The reason I give it five stars is the food, in particular.... the WINGS. I’ve had great buffalo wings else where but these were the best non-buffalo wings I’ve had thus far. The wings are smoked which makes them amazing. The blue cheese is home made and super super chunky. You can really taste the smokiness of the wing and they’re still juicy on the inside. Moving on from the wings, the crab balls were delicious. Known for their crab meat, they were very tasty and don’t have to much filler (breadcrumbs, etc). The brussel sprouts were amazing and covering in a vinaigrette and capers. Back to the wings, they’re were so good we order another round.

I had an absolutely amazing lunch at the Anvil in Harper's Ferry! The BBQ sandwich was really good and the lava cake was delicious! It was a great break from hitting the trails and not far away from the entrance into the National Park!

Excellent food and service. This restaurant has great ambiance and is very close to downtown Harper's Ferry. The pulled pork sandwich 🥪 was outstanding and the bacon wrapped shrimp was really yummy.

A gem in the mountains! Absolutely delicious and exciting food options. Best fried mushrooms I have had. Great crab dip. Awesome service too. The inside is dated, but we loved sitting outside at one of the two tables out there. Don't pass up a chance to enjoy a meal at The Anvil.

So under rated! We drove around for an hour in this general area looking at restaurants for seafood that were rated higher...they were awful and we thought we would have to drive the rest if the way on our trip (3+ hours) and have a very late dinner. Decidiced to go 0adt Anvil and so lucked out!!! Food was fantastic! Amber, out waitress, was also amazing, atmosphere was perfect. We will stop here every time we are passing through. Highly recommended!

Andi is a terrific server! Most excellent smoked dinners... we trued the chicken and the ribs... plus both of us had pulled pork. Yummy! The smoked mac and cheese delicious. You must go!

Great place to go for dinner! Service was good. They have live music on Friday and Saturdays which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Food was really good. The ribeye was tender and delicious. The house cut fries are really good too. Draft beer is limited but the bottle selection is good. I recommend this place for a date night. Cheers!

Great meal, very satisfying. Loved Maryland crab soup, Vodka seafood meal! Jessie our waitress was outstanding. She was knowledgeable, kind & so very gracious & courteous. She helped us with our great meal choices! Also we left a sweatshirt in the booth & she chased out out on the street to return it!!! That’s service! When visiting HF again will definitely stop here again! Thank you!

My wife and I came to Harper's Ferry for a long weekend and had dinner at The Anvil. The restaurant was extremely clean. Alyssa was our waitress and we couldn't have asked for better service. I had the best steak I've ever had. Their Mac and Cheese was delicious. The Cole Slaw was very good. I would really recommend this restaurant.

This is a great spot in Harpers Ferry WV!! A small town restaurant with big amazing flavors and the loveliest of staff!! Renee and her team make you feel at home immediately. The food is amazing. Great bbq and home cooking!!! The pulled pork melted in your mouth!!! And forget the pecan pie!! Just sweet and delicious!! Overall a really lovely dining experience!!

Our waitress Jessie made our evening at The Anvil fantastic! She insured that my husband's meal was indeed gluten-free as requested. We both had the crab soup as an appetizer. Absolutely delicious! The ribs and chicken were incredible. Meat on the ribs simply fell off the bone. The smoked mac & cheese to die for. And the giant scoop of vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce was the perfect ending. Jessie was so personable and friendly. We can't wait to go back!

We found this place when we were leaving from a hike in Harper's Ferry! It was delicious! The seafood was phenomenal. We had old bay wings, crab dip, and Maryland crab soup. I will definitely be going back!

Best food around, but what keeps my Family and I coming back over the years ~ AMBER. Anvil server. She is just (as Dad says), "THE BEST!" Great atmosphere, flows with Historic downtown Harpers Ferry. Very easy to find. You could throw a dart at the menu, wherever it lands will taste good! 💛

Loved this place! Good music playing on the bar side and a great meal had sitting in the rustic side area. Great service! Great food!
Definitely worth the visit....

We had dinner here last night, we are Rving thru the area.
The pulled pork and kielbasa was amazing, I have to say some of the best we have ever had, the waitress was exceptional as was the dirty martini !
