Had a blast here. Hiking up Maryland Heights was an absolute treat, and the views of Harpers Ferry from the top were breathtaking. The hike itself was really enjoyable, perfect for a day out in nature. It was pretty packed and I couldn’t find parking at the train station, so I had to park further away. Fortunately, the park offers a free shuttle between the parking area and the town.

Very well organized. Drive to the public parking and take the bus back.
Walk through town. It's very interesting history is worthwhile. R. E. Lee arrested John Brown near the current fire station. From the point you see three states, West Virginia, Virginia across the Shenandoah to the right and Maryland across the Potomac to the left. Walk across the bridge and see the city from Maryland Point, a 1 hour hike round trip since part of the trail is closed.

Really nice national historical monument at the corner of 3 states. Fun to walk from one to the other. Hike along the hill to have a very nice view on the river and Harpers Ferry. A few cute shops, some good ice-cream on our way back.

$20 or free to get in if you have your annual national park pass. Very clean street and restrooms. Park rangers are very nice and helpful. Tons of buildings and walking paths to explore throughout town. 10/10

I had a wonderful time walking through this National Park for the first time ever and actually learning some historical things that happened in West Virginia that I never knew about before. I was just disappointed that I came the time of year where a lot of the shops were not open. Otherwise the views and time spent and things learned was extraordinary.

Really nice beautiful scenery and just so nice. Free bus down to the town. Military got in for free. So much history in Harpers Ferry. Full off lovely colonial houses and lovely little shops.

Beautiful place to ride a motorcycle!! Good for a day trip. Be prepared for lots of walking and going uphill/steps to see the best locations! Not suggested for those with poor knees, handicap, or poor health conditions. We were a little disappointed at the accessibility to the water. Rocky unsafe terrain in most areas.

Came down from upstate NY to visit a friend and spent the day here while he was at work. Had a great time on the trails and took the bus down to the lower town. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and I enjoyed learning so much history.

Definitely a gem in WV. Free shuttle from visitor center to lower town to see many historic shops, beautiful river views, and old rail trails. Easy walking. Plan to spend half day enjoying the historic park.

Amazing hike! You can either take a short route (red, 1.30-2 hrs) or a longer one which goes even higher (blue, 4-5 hrs). The view is mainly in the red one, but doing the blue first of you have tone then going to red for the view is totally worth it if you have the time

Harper's Ferry is one of my favorite destinations. It can be challenging for anyone with physical disabilities and other challenges due to the steep hills. For those looking for a moderately challenging hike, the trek up to Maryland Heights is worth the view overlooking Harper's Ferry. Parking can be difficult, so parking in the National Park lot and taking the shuttle bus is advisable.

If it’s your first time visiting, stay for at least 2 days (you can make it a weekend trip) because there is a lot to explore.
Pictures don’t do it any service. You have to be there. The views are insanely amazing and there are lots of trails available for all levels.

Beautiful hike with a second route that can take you even further up the mountain! But the one downside was the town was pretty packed with people.

Loads of history, lots of small hand crafted type shops and eateries. Historical buildings are open to explore as well as a train bridge to walk across the river.
Be prepared to walk as parking is limited near the shops.

$20 entrance fee gets you trip from national park to downtown via bus. Worth it in high season when parking is miserable. Also, if you have a bike, it's a great way to get you there and back. Beautiful little town. Almost everything closes down by 7.

Just a fantastic place to spend a day! You can go in the river (tubing, swimming, kayaking), take a challenging hike up to the overlooks (great exercise), catch the views from the pedestrian Bridge over the river (if you don't want to hike far), or traipse the little town which is historic and wonderful. We ate at the Rabbit Hole and had a wonderful time there. Great food and generous portions!

Harper's Ferry was a Blast from the past! I'm loving the historical part, and the quaint shops and restaurants. Check out the Rabbit Hole. And if you can make the hike overlooking the Potomac, and Harper's Ferry, then go for it.

Beautiful cozy town. We stop by on our drive back home and truly glad we did. The river was crystal clean, they also have rafting and tubing for the adventurers. The town also has a museum dedicated to John Brown, and also great places to grab a bite to eat and a drink. The town also has great hiking trails with amazing views of the lake unfortunately we didn’t have the time to hike up but I take the towns people word for it.

Great place to visit on a fall day. There are various trails available so that you can pick according to your skill level. The park rangers are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I absolutely loved this park. The history, the hike, the scenery, EVERYTHING! Such a nice and fun thing to do when you’re in this area! You do have to pay for parking, but outside of that, it’s awesome.
